  1. I agree that "Tactical" classes focus on various things not related to actually shooting any better. But there are trainers who specifically focus on shooting skills, i.e. Correct technique to build fundamentals of shooting quickly and accurately. This is helpful in ensuring that you don't spend a lot of time and ammo practicing bad technique which ends up holding you back.
  2. A couple things about tonight's match... 1. The match is on, despite the weather. The forecast is a bit sketchy, but the temp isn't supposed to drop below freezing until after midnight. And we'll all be warm and dry indoors : ) Certainly a big advantage of an indoor match. 2. Space is very tight at RTSP, which is why I limit registration capacity at about 30. The space constraints also limit the number of spectators to just a handful who we can accommodate squeezing into the ranges without creating new challenges. But spectators are always welcome to watch through the glass from outside the ranges. On a final note, I know a lot of you are excited this match, and have done a great job at helping support and promote it. But I'd like to ask that you please coordinate with me prior to making 'announcements' on behalf of the match and RTSP. This will help keep us all on the same page, and minimize the need for future corrections and clarifications. Thanks,
  3. Thanks guys - Mifflin looks good. About 3 hours and 15 minutes from where I am. Closer would be better of course, but it seems good long range facilities are few and far between nowadays. Regarding the uphill angle, is it steep, or just minimal? (Cherry Ridge is actually down about 3-4° from the 300yd line, which is not enough to affect ballistics data.) Also, I noticed that they list various distance options...e.g. 300, 500, 1000. Is it possible to set up a target at a distance intermediate to those listed? Like 400 or 600?
  4. Can anyone recommend a range with 400 or 500yd capacity within a few hours drive of North Jersey? Something that's not too expensive would be great, since I'm already a member at Shongum and Cherry Ridge... and I don't anticipate shooting at that range very often - I just want to make sure that my drop calculations are accurate for 3-gun matches with long range targets. Thanks - Aaron
