  1. I'm assuming you are referring to their Bulgarian surplus. Despite what they say, I would treat it as corrosive. Most 7.62x39R surplus is corrosive and I am pretty sure the Bulgarian is no exception. Just to be safe run some Windex down the barrel and wipe down the gas system before doing a normal cleaning. It will only take a few minutes and if it turns out to be non-corrosive it can't hurt.
  2. Be aware that a lot of 7.62x54R is corrosive, so you should take the appropriate steps when cleaning.
  3. I have used Midway, Cabela's, and Brownells. I would give all three an A+ because I have never had an issue with any order and they all ship very fast. Midway does stand out however. They ship almost immediately, I like the setup of their site the best, and they usually have slightly better prices. I never returned anything to these retailers, but if I had to, it seems Cabela's would be the easiest because they include a return label with your order.
  4. I spoke to one of the daughters and they are allowed to collect taxes. According to other dealers, it is generally not done. Legally, you are supposed to pay taxes on out of state purchases, but it is your responsibility to pay them. There is pretty much nothing I can do about it.
  5. I have had two of the Tasco SS scopes in the past and I couldn't recommend them enough. They are great scopes and the price can't be beat.
  6. I went to the Bullet Hole once for a transfer and I will not be going back. I tell anyone who listens to avoid them like the plauge. When I went for the transfer I paid the normal transfer fee then they told me I had to pay taxes on a rifle I purchased from a company from Texas. They charged me an additional $130 on top of the transfer fee. I wasn't sure if this was legit at the time so I just paid it. After talking to some people I found out that this is not normal and the chances that money actually went to the state are probably small. So, as far as I'm concerned they robbed me for $130. The receipt only gives the total price I paid but no details. I believe it was the owners daughter that handled the transaction.
  7. It is my understanding that you can get a C&R, but you can't do anything with it :?(because you still need to go through a ffl) , making it pointless.
  8. Just long guns. Mainly WWII and some WWI.
  9. Hello all. I'm new to the forum. I consider myself more of a collector than shooter since I probably get to the range less than 6 times a year. I am interested in historical firearms although when I do shoot it is mostly modern rifles. I have been reading some posts and it looks like a nice site.
