  1. Saturday March 2 might work for me; now you have to choose a time.
  2. Cape May County has more camping spaces per square mile then anywhere else east of the Mississippi River. Belleplain State forest has RV sites, a lake and quite a few trails. Historic Cape May City is a nice area to walk, not really a nature hike but a beautiful walk nonetheless. Cape May Point State Park has a few miles of trails and beaches. You can stroll through Wildwood and get punched by the police (that’s a joke).
  3. Lecturers who use um, aah or similar noises when they are supposed to be presenting something they should know enough about to speak on. I stop listening and keep an “um count” on a notepad.
  4. Sure, I’ll invite a stranger to come to my house and see all my guns, nothing could go wrong with that.
  5. It sounds like a cool idea. I’d do it if the price was similar to range time.
  6. That sucks but at least you made it most of the way through the match. I once drove 2 hours to a match and the gun broke on the first stage. I now bring 2 guns to each match.
  7. Primary Arms is a great option. Vortex will direct you The ExpertVoice app, create a profile, join a group that confirms you are a good guy, take the vortex test and then you will be eligible for a discount.
  8. Go to a range where you can rent some and try them out. S&W and Ruger make great revolvers, other manufacturers make good guns as well. Taurus is ok.
  9. AC is a shithole. Just do like the locals and fire off rounds anywhere you would like. There isn’t a good sized range in AC or the immediate area. Shooters in Little Egg or Full Metal Jacket in Upper Township are your best bets for ranges.
  10. Last time I had to show up for a work day at the range I wore no pants. They have relieved me of my work day obligations.
  11. I thought backpage only had hooker...uh...escort, yeah escort, listings.
  12. With new-more restrictive laws looming; has anyone tried altering a perminantly altered, currently compliant magazine? I see a few people selling off their 15 round mags which I’m considering myself. But instead of selling both my 15/20 mags is there a way to alter them further? If someone has done this I would appreciate any advise. If not, I’ll try and report any insights.
  13. Cape May County has a bunch of great breweries. Cold Spring Brewery, attached to Cold Spring Village (a historic village with a bunch of cool exhibits in Lower Township), is NJ’s only Non-Profit brewery. They have a decent selection of good beers. Ludlam Island Brewery, Dennis Township, has a few beers they always offer and a few they do in limited runs. Cape May Brewing Company, Lower Township, is always busy and for good reason. MMM, Honey Porter, aaagh..... 7 Mile in Rio Grande is, in my opinion, ok. They are big into IPA’s and I’m not an IPA fan Bucket Brigade just opened in Cape May Court House. I’ve only been there once, I wasn’t feeling well so I did not get a full experience. I will reserve my opinion until I can go back. Mud Hen is supposed to be opening in Wildwood, They have been working on this one for over a year so we shall see. Slack Tide in Dennis Township is ok, just ok, in my opinion Distilleries: Nauti Spirits in Lower Twp has some good stuff, I really enjoy their Gin Cape May Distillery is ok, nothing special, in my opinion. There is a distillery in Wildwood which was decent, the name escapes me if you want to discuss Cape May County Wineries we will need a new thread
  14. I have a GP 100 that I am very happy with and would recommend to anyone looking for a revolver. S&W makes great revolvers, you can’t go wrong there. I recently picked up a Chiappa Single Action 22 with a 7 inch barrel and adjustable sights. It comes with a 22lr and a 22 Mag cylinder. It’s a nice gun for plinking and target shooting.
  15. I picked up a used Hi Point 9 Carbine for a great price a few years ago. The older, non tactical, stock version (the less ugly in my opinion). It’s a good shooter, fairly accurate, no malfunctions and fun. I also have an old Ruger PC4 (40 cal carbine which uses P944 magazines) this is also fun to shoot and accurate. Ruger just re-released their PC9 carbine and it takes Glock mags. I don’t know the mechanics of the new PC9 but the old PC9/PC4 are a little odd when it comes to reassembly.
  16. I’m a paramedic recovering from surgery so I’m cross trained in 9-1-1 dispatch until I return to the street. I have a little insight from the other side of these devices. If you don’t know: the alert company receives the alarm, tries to contact the owner and get some information. If the person is having an emergency or if the company can’t reach the owner the company will call the 9-1-1 center covering the owner. A little information is exchanged and resources are sent. Life Alert and some others will give a call back number for their monitoring facility, a reference number and sometimes a clients number along with the client name and major medical history. They will call back a little later and follow up (they want a simple disposition like accidental, pt transported to the hospital or “he won’t be needing your services any more”). I am not responsible for trying to contact family members when these alerts come in. Make sure whatever company you use will contact you. I would prefer to deal with one of the companies that give 9-1-1 a call back number and a reference number if I were getting one for my mother. There are a number of companies that will call and just give the address and nothing more. They don’t even give me a call back number so if the occupant is in bad shape I can’t get in touch with them for them to notify Family. Just some things to think about.
  17. I participate in a local indoor shooting league; once a week I spend about 90 minutes at the range shooting 150 rounds. I belong to an outdoor club that I try to get to once a month hen the weather is agreeable. When at the outdoor club I will spend a few hours to a half day shooting pistols and/or rifles. I enjoy the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Program courses of fire; they keep me focused on a specific goal when shooting.
  18. FN P90. Full auto, short barrel. FN 5.7 Suppressors for both. If I had to go with just 2 guns forever I’d like shared ammo and high capacity the 5.7 round has some nice ballistic properties. I also like being able to put the P90 sight on target, pull the trigger and let many projectiles fly with almost no muzzle rise. I could carry lots of this ammo due to its light weight and small size.
  19. The ARRL has a spot to look up FCC licenses but if you had something that long ago it may not show up and may not be in the database. The old CB licenses aren’t available, too long ago. Most fcc licenses expire so if you did have something it likely isn’t valid anymore. Getting a ham Technician license isn’t very difficult.
  20. I want a semi auto 9mm or 45. Full size, 10+ rounds Metal frame. 4.5+” barrel. Already cut or able to be milled for a red dot. I cant afford the STI Double stack 2011
  21. Cedar Creek Sporting Clays in the Millville area. They have auto throwers that can be set with a delay for the single shooter.
