Don't sweat it. The rifle won't function any differently if it was perfectly centered. Furthermore, it may be a necessary evil as friction may have offset the crush washer during tightening. No one is going to back off of a crush washer to center it once it's tightened. Enjoy the rifle!

Any further reports on these barrels?

Drilled down .050" and TIG welded the pin in. My rifle is much less dangerous now.

Can someone please tell me the wall thickness of an AR barrel with a 1/2-28 thread at the muzzle (top of thread to inside diameter)? I'm getting ready to pin and weld my comp and want to be sure not to drill through the wall. I'm assuming its .500" minus .223", divided by 2 (.1385")? Thanks.

That thing is proper. Great job.

6 lbs. 0.6 oz. unloaded. Super light weight. The rear MBUS sight was the one that was canted. It was SUPER tight going onto the Mega upper. It may have stressed it a bit. I shimmed it up under the left side and it almost perfect. My Bushmaster is 6 lbs. 9 oz. on the nose. Very noticable difference in feel.

Had a marathon assembly session today and finished it off. A lot easier than I had initially thought. Guess that's the modular beauty of these rifles. The front Magpul MBUS sight seems slightly canted left. Odd as the free floating handguard is on perfectly. My guess is that, since it's a plastic sight, maybe it's slightly deformed? Anyway. Now it's time to pick an optic for it.

Saturday was a good day. Time to put some lead down range and start assembling this Mega Arms carbine.

Alright, so I was trying to make myself build something other than a carbine because I already own one, but I really don't have a need for anything else. I'm going to build another carbine and have it be strictly red dot/holo sight & BUIS and keep the Bushmaster with the 1.5-4.5x scope and BUIS. Same platforms, different optics.

Yes, it's a Special Purpose Rifle. It can be as long as you want it to be, but I believe the armed forces' SPR's are 18" in length.
