If you go on a weeknight there's literally no one there. I had the 50 yd range all to myself a couple weeks ago.

NJ AG asks Supremes NOT to take on Drake

I am going to say there is absolutely no chance it will be heard. Whatever I predict usually goes the other way. LOL -

A lot of people are saying it won't be heard because SCOTUS shot down 3 other petitions prior to this. However, these three petitions were: NRA Petitiioning that handguns could be sold to persons under 21 Petition that handguns shouldn't be restricted to purchase in ones home state NRA Petitioning that persons under 21 should be allowed to carry a pistol in Texas However, if you look at the above 3, it's all about acquiring and allowing new people to obtain handguns. I personally think Drake v. Jerejian is a much broader petition. I think it stands a BETTER chance of being heard vs. the prior 3. Do i think it will be heard? I'm skeptical. After all...we live in NJ. And i think petition not set for conference just means they haven't scheduled a conference to present it for decision on hearing yet. My best guess, at least. -
The last time i released a groundhog was on town property. Cop drove up, asked what we were doing, said releasing a groundhog. He walked up and said "Those guys are mean little bastards. As long as he;'s not near my house I'm fine with it" Watched us release it and drove off.

If you're going the humane route with a Havahart trap...i have a tip. We tried everything to catch one that got into a fight with my dog and ruined my mother's garden. We caught squirrels, rabbits, and even a rat in the trap. Tried veggies, fruits of all sorts, etc. Finally i went online and researched...cantaloupe...yes cantaloupe. Baited it up, came back the next day, and there he was. They are mean SOB's, and that is putting it lightly. I was charged by one and one got into it real good with my dog. They also can carry rabies. If you have a garden or flowers? Kiss them goodbye. Trap em and set them free at least 5 miles away.

Just checked. It's under "Petitions not set for conference" http://www.scotusblog.com/case-files/petitions-were-watching/ EDIT: FYI For those following this, it's known as Drake v. Jerejian This is interesting piece for those who haven't seen it http://www.cato.org/publications/legal-briefs/drake-v-jerejian -

So where exactly do we stand on this? When will SCOTUS decide whether or not to hear the case? I try keeping up with this but i hear something different all the time. -
How do you all clean your muzzle breaks.
Big Jay replied to neon333's topic in AK Variant Discussion
For corrosive ammo use windex. The ammonia neutralizes the mercuric salts. Hang the gun upside down by the buttstock. Spray the windex downt the barrel and then on the inside of the brake (assuming you're talking about the 74 style). Let it go for a bit then clean with your normal stuff. I've also thought about using a baby bottle brush from the grocery store once i install my 74 brake. -
Have you tried switching providers? Every time you switch you become a "new" customer and usually get all the promotions.

Ummm that's definitely worth some coin and probably worth even more in sentimental value. I WISH I had something like that.

Simple. Call and tell them you're cancelling. I do this once a year, when my package expires. Where I live I can get both Fios and Cablevision. After a year is up and they attempt to raise my bill, I call up and cancel my service. I switch to the competitor OR take the break they give me. Couple months ago they dropped my bill from what would have been $165 to $105. Now I have a DVR box, regular digital box, 90% of the movie channels, internet, phone and all that crap. The other alternative is: Roku/DLNA device + icefilms.info or one of the other downloading sites out there.

USA Made Threaded Muzzle Brake for AK Questions
Big Jay replied to k3c4forlife's topic in AK Variant Discussion
This is a very subjective area for many people, especially for AK's. First off, there are two generally accepted ways of permanently affixing the muzzle device: 1) Pinning/welding 2) Silver solder The former seems to be more common due to the nature of being more "reversible" should you want to change the muzzle device. Second issue, difference between a flash suppressor and brake is essentially the muzzle diameter at the end of the device. If the hole is significantly bigger than the actual bore of the barrel itself, it's generally accepted as a FS. If the hole is the same size as the barrel's, it's a brake. Most manufacturers will specify if they classify on the BATF laws of whether or not its a FS or brake. Third, are you a purist or more of a functional type person? If you're a purist you will want a slant brake on that rifle. That seems to be the one that's most prevalent on them. Sometimes you'll see thread protectors on them as well. Here in NJ i wouldn't do that. Might as well get something you like that is at least functional being that you have to butcher the device to be compliant. You will see some people put AK74 brakes on them. Don't do this. They simply do not work. The Standard threading of an AK47 is M14x1 LH threads. A couple US companies make M14xLH 74 brakes. Problem is they lack the "chamber" needed to actually function as a brake. So basically, its a heavy piece of metal that doesn't really do anything on the end of your rifle. The TRUE functional Bulgy 74 brake has M24x1.5 RH threads and has the chamber. Problem being, you'll need an adapter which I'm told can be tough to pin. M14x1 LW to M24x1.5 RH. It will also render your pin/detent mechanism unusable. You can put a new FSB on it but that's getting into some work. If you don't go the slant brake route, go with something like a PWS comp. They seem to be top of the line. Best of all, they thread right on and can be pinned pretty easily. They are by far the MOST functional on that rifle.
