  1. I hope that was tongue in cheek Tony... We weren't expecting to encounter ground water at 20 inches. Per your architect's site plan, he had the infiltration basin bottom 3 feet below grade. The bottom of the basin has to be two feet above the seasonal high water table so we were expecting a water table of at least 6 to 8 feet. We have to be prepared for a 10 to 12 foot pit all the time. Typically we need to provide the twp engineer with a soil test pit log to at least ten feet. I'm sorry it was a bit overkill but that is the type of machine we always need.
  2. Tony, That's right up my alley. Been doing it for 16 years now. I'll pm you about it.
  3. Any thoughts/opinions? I don't know what it is about this rifle but I want one.
  4. Sorry to hear that Tony. Glad he is doing ok. I had to put down our 12 year old Golden on January 28th. That was one of the worst nights of my life. I agree that a steak is in order. Lots o love to the pooch...

    BA 3/22

Can't be there tonight... Thanks Chris. Another delay. This baby thing sure takes a lot of time, eh? But we're enjoying every minute of it. Maybe next week.
  6. Thanks for the quick responses guys. It think I may see if I can get to Shore Shot tomorrow to drop it off. I just discovered that I have zero time now. I also have to clean the flooded basement and I have been off of work for a week while we were in Virginia waiting for the legal stuff to get settled. Matty, it has the Crimson Trace grips!!! Can you believe this? I looked at it a little closer after my initial panic and I don't think it;s thaaaat bad but rust on one of my guns (and my beloved 1911 to boot) is a real bummer. We went with a domestic adoption. It seemed like the overseas adoptions were actually more complicated. In the last year we also tried to adopt a Native American child through some personal contacts but both mothers changed their mind at the last minute. That hurt. That's why we went with an agency that handles all the details. They were real pros. Now we have to wait another 4 days because in Virginia the mother has 10 days to change her mind. We love this little guy so much it's amazing. Got to go... Feeding time...
  7. OK... Here is my problem... Remember the 100 year storm we had last week? Well the good news is that we had to drive to Virginia in that monsoon to meet our son whom we adopted last week! We were gone from March 13th to March 20th. The bad news is that it rained 7 inches, our power was out for 3 1/2 days and before my father in law came to the rescue with a generator to get the sump pump going, the basement filled with 4 inches of water. Being that we were stressed about the adoption (we only had 7 days notice) I neglected the gun safe and handguns. 4 of my handguns were in my small range bag on the bottom (yes the bottom) of the safe and got wet (yes WET) during the 'flood'. My GP100 looks ok. My Buckmark looks ok.... My 92fs looks ok. My Kimber Crimson Carry? Ugh... It's a total disaster. The barrel is rusting inside and out There is light rust on the slide. I have only shot this thing three or four times and I waited for 6 months to get it. What do I do? I am not the greatest yet at taking it apart and really giving it a once over. Is the barrel a goner? Should I get it to Shore Shot (close by) for a professional cleaning? How about the other ones that look "ok"? Should they get pro attention as well? Any suggestions would be helpful. Please refrain from the I told you so's. I am punishing myself enough. I didn't know we would have to travel on no notice. I didn't know it was going to rain 7 inches in 24 hours. I didn't know that the power would go out for 3 1/2 days and everyone in Jackson would be buying generators. In the grand scheme of things it's no big deal in that we now have a beautiful son in our home so I understand the perspective. But a little help would be appreciated. Thanks all. BTW... It's a great feeling being a Dad.
  8. Uzi.... That was stupid. I want those 2 minutes back
  9. If you've never been to Disney, there is lots you need to do. Hope you have some time. Go to Pleasure Island at night. It's a blast. Haven't been ther since '01. Have a good time. You may be stuck there.
  10. I was going to keep silent on this one as well as I have personal knowledge of the BA/Shore Shot objection. Our firm handled the planning testimony before the Lakewood Zoning Board for BA's application. If you really want to know both sides let me know. I'll give you the application number and dates and you can look up the meeting minutes on Lakewood's web site. It will be a non biased synopsis of the application and objection. That being said, I also read from Shore Shot that they now regret the objection (which cost a pretty penny based on the attorney they hired) and feel their business is better due to the competition. At first I avoided Shore Shot based solely on the objection but now reading their philosophy, I'll check the place out and make my own opinion. So good luck to both SS and BA and may we all benefit from the competition.
  11. As someone who can't have children and waiting for an expectant mother to pick us for an adoption this makes me absolutely sick. This scum has no value for human life and I think he should be treated with the same malice and thoughtlessness. Give me the lever, I'll pull it.
  12. Shouldn't we start talking about standardizing our calibers or something? May make sense for ammo sharing and supply, no? Just asking. I ordered some of the books mentioned in this thread. Research will commence upon receipt.

    BA 2/9

Great night even though it was cut a little short. Thanks for the ammo, boys. Also that 1911 is REAL nice. Hmmmm... Maybe a few more permits are in order...
  14. I was in at 8:30... LIght staff today and we may send people home early. Phone is dead.... I am actually getting some crap off my desk...
  15. Count me in for Central... What I lack in combat training I can make up with other skills. All teams need an engineer, right? I'll figure out the water issue...

Fair Enough... SHould we look into a weekly meet up elsewhere? I am a member at BA and enjoy it but if NJGF members aren't being treated right I'm all for tryng something different. It's a market economy after all. I am all for rewarding good businesses but am equally for ignoring mediocre ones. I have a whole three strike policy for restaurants but that's a whole different thread. See y'all tonight. May need some help with an issue with my Marlin 1894c lever gun.

    Stocks?

very well said, Maks. I wish people will really listen to your advice. Go for the long haul... Not the quick fix.
  20. Hey good for you. Happy Birhtday. The best presents are the ones we get for ourselves alot, eh?
  21. Welcome from another Rutgers Alumnus. Eng Class of '94. Live in NB for 3 years. Was lucky about the crime. No issues at all. My car was so crappy I left it unlocked a lot.
  22. Hmmmm... I may print this and show it to some of our employees. All things considered, we did ok this year. No raises but we did manage to save enough to have some left over and match bonuses we gave out last year. We did our last round of layoffs last January and some of the year was at reduced hours. I think this year the end year bonus was really appreciated. I got several heart felt thank yous. From an owners perspective, we really don't like not giving raises or bonuses. We like rewarding employees that keep us in business. But sometimes we have to be the bad guy and it sucks. I am a new partner (3 yrs) where I work so I am not out of touch with those that work in the trenches. I hate saying that having a job in these times is good enough but really it is...
  23. Thanks guys.... I got my .45 present to myself two weeks ago or so. I have one permit left and am thinking of a 92fs. Sounds like a good present, no? One more year to be in my thirties... Ugh. I got my hair cut the other day and the girl said her dad was old. I asked how old is he and she said "45"... So 6 more years til I'm old...
  24. Matty, I picked the 1911 on Tuesday night. Kimber Crimson Carry. Shoots great! I actually purchased it LOOOONG ago and had to wait. A Buckmark is on my list also. May be getting that tomorrow. Trying to beat OGAM. The only silver lining of the long wait is that i got to save more money. The third item on the wish list is a 9mm but I am stuck on the decision. If your permits are 'onthe Chief's desk' you might get them pretty soon. Mine were 'with the lieutenant' for weeks. Good luck!
