  1. Yup, I agree. . . if you are a sniper, FBI agent, Marine, etc. For weekend warriors that shoot at a range I can't justify spending that kind of money on a little red dot. It is one thing to depend on a firearm to save your life, it is surely another to depend on a piece of electronic junk. I don't care if it costs $10,000.00 or $10.00 its still electronic junk. If someone breaks into your house and is about to lunge at you with a knife just hope its not the 731st day (2 years and one day) since you changed your batteries. Learn to shoot without the pretty little dot. :twocents-02cents:
  2. I agree. . . if you are not a sniper, LEO or the like then whats the point? I have a knock-off. The difference I see between mine and the $500 ones is that mine doesn't say aimpoint on the side of it. Yes, I've shot numerous times with both. . . I actually don't like either of them . . . decent for indoor range practice, but outside in natural light they suck. They all suck.
  3. When I use to care, I would give them a quick spritz of rem-oil spray (in the aerosol can)... I never cleaned them if they were just sitting, but I would clean them before I took them out again. Just to clear whatever could have gotten into the breech. They were sitting for about 5 years at one point, and I'd say every 2 or 3 months I'd hit them with a thin coat of the rem-oil, rust never sleeps. ymmv
  4. Completely understandable to take a day off. Everyone must. . . but close up shop when you have numerous completely competent employees to run the place? How will they ever grow and learn? You've got to be able to trust your people, if not, then find new people. IE: If you have a newborn, and constantly have them on your lap, how will they ever learn to walk? Just my .02 I completely agree with Tony, a great place to start 'trusting' your guys would be to open up on our night, from say, 7 to 10? No need to watch over us, just open the place up. NOTE: I don't know if I'm accurate in my assumption of not trusting employees or anything like that, that is just how I see it, if in fact that is the reason he is closing because he himself needs time off.
  5. Wow. . . she's a trooper, I'd be scared to get back on after the first time, let alone the second. Where was this at? Looks like a nice place. My niece is starting to get involved in it.
  6. Fridays don't work for me either. Perhaps they can change their 'maintenance' day to one of the other 6 days of the week ?
  7. Only thing worse than hippies are yuppies. I took 3 dumps today and did not use toilet paper in honor of earth day. The first one I scooted across the carpeting, the other two I just used my hand.
  8. I don't have one for sale I just think it looks bad azz. . .
  9. Congrats. . . very nice gun, good choice. Any though to adding a tube extender to bring the mag up to the same length as the bbl?
  10. Anything further on this ??? (bump)
  11. Here is a novel idea. . . Those who think its legal, do it. Those who think its not, don't. Perhaps the fine folks of NJGF will hold a fund raiser for bail money for one of those groups. Can you guess which one?
  12. :text-yeahthat: I'm not sure I understand the logic.
  13. Are you serious about being closed on Tuesdays?
  14. Damn right celray....about time!!!! Welcome Neil!!! I bought your Xd from you. How ya been???
  15. Not a home invasion, but in case any of you Toms River guys saw a bunch of police activity across the street from the Mall on hooper ave. . . a couple outside the Toys 'R' Us store got robbed at knife point, one person was stabbed. Toms River Township Police apprehended the male and female suspect about 20 minutes later.
  16. Ocean County - Lakewood - 52X Curtis Lane 1:41AM. 4 to 7 males were armed with unknown type guns, kicked in the front door, used duct tape to subdue the residents. Fled on foot in an unknown direction.
  17. Is there a gender logo? Or was it on the paperwork somewhere?
  18. I give it a week before you put a bullet through the display.
  19. Yesterday for dinner, baked potatoes, grilled red peppers tossed in a basting oil / herbs de provonce mixture, and an incredibly good ribeye steak. Awesome flavor, great marbling. Also, I had 1/2 dozen sea scallops on the grill tossed in the same basting mixture as the peppers (to prevent sticking) and topped with a very light lemon / butter sauce. Wifey doesn't eat seafood so the scallops were all mine! OMFG DEEEEELICIOUS! And today, A homemade Juicy Lucy burger on the grill . . . WOW was it good. I saw it on Man Vs. Food. It consists of 80/20 ground beef some meat seasoning and American cheese. Form two patties with the meat, put 2 slices of cheese cut into quarters in the middle of one patty, then place the other patty on top leaving the mound of cheese in the middle. Pinch the edges of the two patties together to form a seal. Grill. With the first bite, the cheese starts to ooze out of the center. I don't know if I can ever have a regular cheese burger again. It tastes completely different than just putting the cheese on top...I guess because the juices of the meat mix in with the melted cheese. I did not take a photo, but something tells me I am going to have another one tomorrow so I'll snap a pic then. I just got a awesome new grill so I've been grilling away lately.
  20. First, I'll answer the title of this thread. Generally, yes. Being a new parent of a little girl, the only thing I have changed my outlook on is keeping my daughter as far away from boys like you as possible.
  21. Yeah, happens everywhere. Scary, right? Broad daylight too. Makes you think about leaving your family home all day long. Nothing further on the kitty situation afaik.
