  1. I would strongly advise buying it as a pistol or pistol frame on a pistol purchase permit in NJ
  2. The TC Encore is a slightly heavier frame capable of rifle calibers. Thus if you want to go 308/06 the Encore is your better/only choice. There was a supreme court case that says you can go back and forth (pistol, rifle, shotgun) on a TC pistol frame, so you are good to go.
  3. Hey ctrmass, nice to see you over here too.
  4. Maybe, maybe not. How about a $2,000 federal tax on all gun purchases and a 500% federal tax on all ammo purchases, with the proceeds going to help fund Obamacare? That goes along with the current tax on alcohol and tobacco products and the proposed taxes on "unhealthy" food and drink. Since guns will be considered a public health issue, how is it any different from drinking, smoking or obesity? Just sayin'. They are not allowed to levy those kinds of taxes on anything. It has been tried before ( can not remember the exact instance to quote), but their is some federal regulation that prevents an absurd tax like 500% on anything. When the National Firearms Act was passed in 1934 it levied taxes in excess of 2000% on items such as Short Barrels Shotguns and Suppressors. This Supreme Court (in an amazingly bad decision) held it to be constitutional, and it is still in effect today. Due to inflation the tax ($200) is generally under 100% now.
  5. I live very close to Hagues, and was a member of Eagle Eye for years. I no longer have anything to do with the place due to the attitude of the staff, non members must by ammo at Hauges to shoot, no reloads allowed, and high prices. I also dislike their habit of spamming various gun boards with good reviews for themselves. This was a problem on AR15.com over the years with the same guy coming on and posting how great Hagues was every once in a while. I think he gave up over there after so many people responded negatively (I am not saying that is the case here ).
  6. Don't hold your breath waiting for it
  7. I have also been swept way too many times (by newbies, and all too often by "people who should know better"). I would feel much safer wearing armor at the range. Do you have any good deals Paul?
  8. You were more reasonable than I would have been. I would have been pissed.
  9. Looks like a PEQ2, which includes an IR laser for use with night vision.
  10. To me being prepared is having the amount that you feel comfortable with. If you are comfortable with what you have don't worry about someone saying it is too much. Now when people are saying it is too little...
  11. I got mine a few years ago, and had to wait a few weeks then too. It was well worth the wait
  12. I am not convinced that the piston systems are really better, but if you want the Ruger get in touch with Paul (PK90) from http://www.arms-n-ammo.com/ as I think he can get one and then make it NJ legal for yu if you want.
  13. The Mildot Master http://www.mildot.com/ is pretty handy too.
  14. It is a Sims case. http://www.simunition.com/cartridges/fx_training_en.php
  15. Yes I will have one, and you are welcome to shoot part of the class with it and see what you think (anyone who takes the 11/7 class is welcome to try my Geissele SSA).
  16. The RRA is a nice feeling trigger, with a good price, but I have had one fail on me. On the other hand I am a big Geissele fan. SSAs in most rifles, and DMRs in my more accurate rifles. I have recently been seliing my RRAs and replacing them with Geissele SSAs. Edited to add: If price is your prime criteria get the RRA, if reliability is more important get the Geissele SSA.
  17. Tinyboy, the Benelli M1 I was using at the class last weekend holds 6 in the tube.
