  1. Thanks, that is "better" news as it was a pain getting a notary for a Constitutionally protected Right...
  2. Same here...I moved to PA from NJ for 5 main reasons---4 were costs, fees, taxes, costs and #5 was guns. I would stay in PA and drive whatever it took to get to work. My parents and in laws are fixing to get out asap as well....and they're moderates. I don't know the OP's position, but I'd try to find any way possible to stay in PA. Also, if you're coming to NJ to start a business, the costs are crazy along with regulations...but I'm sure you already looked into that. Good luck and we'll miss you! BTW, where in NJ? I live in Yardley,PA and can get to most places in Southern NJ in 50 minutes and back to my hometown of Marlton,NJ in 35.
  3. I understand what you're saying, but we need to be patient and continue the move forward. For example, it's as simple as starting a facebook group about shooting and list range dates and invite friends. Get with people on this site and organize 25 site members bringing 1 or 2 new shooters in 30 days. Please, simply take the small, essential personal steps which eventually explode into one big one. It is possible and we have all the tools to organize easily---it CAN be done!
  4. Then we need to "make them"...if you can't get others to join in, start the ball rolling yourself. This is what "being a community organizer" is like. Think of it as saving humanity from tyranny because if the USA drops, that's it----there's no other model for freedom.
  5. But how does one get Pro 2A politicians in office if no one in the state would vote for a 2A supporter. The problem is, it simply does not work as these politicians begin with good intentions then soon become corrupt. You need a well informed voter block to vote in fundamentally sound representatives. What I mentioned above could happen much sooner and with greater affect and here's why. First, I've never taken a person to the range that hated it---I've even gotten' my kids to take their friends with us (ages 20-24) and each one of them has either bought a gun or joined a range soon after going with us. That's 3 people that flipped from anti/neutral to Pro-gun. If each gun owner takes 3 new people to the range in a 6 month period, then you could potentially increase gun ownership 3-fold. Guess what, if you make it clear to those 3 you're responsible for to bring others to the range, we could flip over 50% of the population to the importance of the 2A---WOW! By election time 1/2 the state could be in "our" corner. It's a lot of work and a lot of time, but think of yourself as a politician building your voter base and in the long run, you're running your "campaign" against tyranny. Because "we the people" are the government! I've been involved in local politics for years along with being an avid "protester"----I can tell you, politics is a waste and most of these guys do not stick to principals. Though they're well intended, they sway quickly to what they think the populace will get them re-elected. So it's up to us----please stop leaving it in the hands of those that don't care about us. Unless the minds of the people are changed, it's a futile and losing proposition.
  6. The only way to do this is sway public opinion and how do you do this? Agree to take one to two new people to the range a couple times a year---heck, even offer to buy them lunch. Once these people see house safe and rational most gun owners are, it opens up a new door for conversation. Also, when you talk to these people know your history, know your facts and be prepared for any and all questions. I have come to the conclusion that we need to stop relying on politicians to preserve or protect our rights---that time has passed. However, "we the people" are the government and if opinion changes greatly then actions change and positions change in government. This is one line in the sand that should NOT be negotiable...fight for it like your life depends on it....which inreality, it does.
  7. Go to the capital steps wearing a holster and a pink water pistol mocking the legislature...signs of "NJ legal carry"..."this is how I protect my family legally in NJ" or something along these lines. Heck put a banana in a holster or whatever to mockingly getting your point across.
  8. There is no compromising when it comes to the bill of rights. Two things: #1--Progressives prefer to make law after law eroding the bill of rights because--- #2 That would force them to acknowledge the Constitution. They know it would be next to impossible to overturn the 1A, 2A, 4A,5A, etc so they simply come up with new laws and talking points "in the name of safety" as we slowly drown our rights in the background. There's over 4,000 plus gun laws and criminals/nut cases STILL get guns. Look at CT, NJ, CA ,NY and MD---the end game is law after law until they're finally confiscated through a "court of law"---guilty until proven innocent. Prohibitions never work....NEVER! But I contend this is the last firewall progressives need to erode before they move onto the final step. 150 million gun owners (even if only 10% protect freedom) that's 15 MILLION people the takeover has to deal with----so in progressive type fashion, they'll take their time, indoctrinate and confiscate under the rule of "law". No compromise on our end on any of the amendments or Bill of inalienable rights, that is....they're NON-negotiable!
  9. he can simply ask you to leave and if you comply that's the end of it---concealed or open makes no difference. In Texas, I was there last year and carried. What a pain...the 30.06 signs DO hold the weight of law and possible prosecution. There's different signage in TX but the 30.06 sign is the main concern as you could be carrying and if the property owner believes you're carrying (even legally) he can call the cops and you're arrested. The simple "no gun sign" means nothing unless you're asked to leave then you simply leave or face trespassing charges. The final saw I saw was "no guns unless with lawful CCW permit". That sign was plastered ALL over and thought it made sense out of all the three. If i were a business owner, I'd put that one up but also realizing it still does not stop criminals. The 30.06 signs need to e exactly certain dimensions, posted in a certain area to be enforceable. The thing that stinks is when in TX staying at a hotel sometimes will not have this on their site then you get there only to find out they're "30.06"! Now what? Also, Churches were off limits when I was there, certain places that serve alcohol more than food, etc.
  10. If one state topples, it eventually spreads, so yeah, I will support you all any way I can.
  11. When facts don't work (typically with progressives they don't) ask them why we're forced to have (by law) a fire extinguisher in our home when the chance of a fire is less than .005% . Also, why have fire extinguishers when we have a fire dept? Why have air bags? Why have smoke detectors? Why have an alarm system? We have all these items as precautions, so how is a gun or defending oneself any different? I don't believe I'll ever use my fire extinguisher, but I have 3 of them and replace them every few years. Isn't defending oneself and having the upper hand [even] more critical?
  12. http://www.gunfacts.info/gun-control-myths/guns-and-crime-prevention/#note-97-3 Myth: Private ownership of guns is not effective in preventing crimeFact: Every year, people in the United States use guns to defend themselves against criminals an estimated 2,500,000 times – more than 6,500 people a day, or once every 13 seconds. 1 Of these instances, 15.7% of the people using firearms defensively stated that they “almost certainly” saved their lives by doing so. Fact: Even the governments estimate, which has a major methodology problem, 2 estimates people defend themselves 235,700 times each year with guns. 3 Fact: The number of times per year an American uses a firearm to deter a home invasion alone is 498,000. 4 Fact: In 83.5% (2,087,500) of these successful gun defenses, the attacker either threatened or used force first, proving that guns are very well suited for self-defense. Fact: The rate of defensive gun use (DGU) is six times that of criminal gun use. 5 Fact: Of the 2,500,000 times citizens use guns to defend themselves, 92% merely brandish their gun or fire a warning shot to scare off their attackers. 6 Fact: In most of the remaining 8% of defensive gun uses does a citizen wound his or her attacker (they fire warning shots), and in less than one in a thousand instances is the attacker killed. 7 Fact: In one local review of firearm homicide, more than 12% were civilian legal defensive homicides. 8 Fact: For every accidental death (802), suicide (16,869) or homicide (11,348) 9 with a firearm (29,019), 13 lives (390,000)10 are preserved through defensive use. Fact: When using guns in self-defense, 91.1% of the time, not a single shot is fired. 11 Fact: After the implementation of Canada’s 1977 gun controls prohibiting handgun possessio n for protection, the “breaking and entering” crime rate rose 25%, surpassing the American rate. 12 Myth: Only police should have gunsFact: “Most criminals are more worried about meeting an armed victim than they are about running into the police.” 13 Fact: For kids in schools, police end such attacks only 27% of the time. 14 Fact: 11% of police shootings kill an innocent person — about 2% of shootings by citizens kill an innocent person. 15 Fact: Police have trouble keeping their own guns. Hundreds of firearms are missing from the FBI and 449 of them have been involved in crimes. 16 Fact: People who saw the helplessness of the L.A. Police Department during the 1992 King Riots or the looting and violence in New Orleans after hurricane Katrina know that citizens need guns to defend themselves. Fact: “In actual shootings, citizens do far better than law enforcement on hit potential. They hit their targets and they don’t hit other people. I wish I could say the same for cops. We train more, they do better.” 17 Myth: You are more likely to be injured or killed using a gun for self-defenseFact: You are far more likely to survive violent assault if you defend yourself with a gun. 18 Myth: Guns are not effective in preventing crime against womenFact: Of the 2,500,000 annual self-defense cases using guns, more than 7.7% (192,500) are by women defending themselves against sexual abuse. Fact: When a woman was armed with a gun or knife, only 3% of rape attacks were completed, compared to 32% when the woman was unarmed. 19 Fact: The probability of serious injury from an attack is 2.5 times greater for women offering no resistance than for women resisting with guns. Men also benefit from using guns, but the benefits are smaller: Men are 1.4 times more likely to receive a serious injury. 20 Fact: 28.5% of women have one or more guns in the house. 21 Fact: 41.7% of women either own or have convenient access to guns. 22 Fact: In 1966, the city of Orlando responded to a wave of sexual assaults by offering firearms training classes to women. Rapes dropped by nearly 90% the following year. Fact: Firearm availability appears to be particularly useful in avoiding rape. The United Kingdom virtually banned handgun ownership. During the same period handgun ownership in the United States steadily rose. Yet the rate of rape decreased in the United States and skyrocketed in the other countries, as shown in the table. Fact: More Americans believe having a gun in the home makes them safer. This belief grows every year the survey is taken. 23 Fact: Arthur Kellerman, a researcher whose work is often cited by gun control groups, said “If you’ve got to resist, your chances of being hurt are less the more lethal your weapon. If that were my wife, would I want her to have a .38 Special in her hand? Yeah.” 24 Notes:
  13. The Democrats’ lie matters for four reasons. First, the terrorist watch list is much larger than the no-fly list. It varies over time, but there are approximately 1,000,000 people listed in the former, and somewhere around 47,000 people on the no-fly list. Feinstein defends using the criteria that creates a larger list by saying only a fraction of the million-or-so people on the terrorist watch list are U.S. citizens, but whether that’s a large or small fraction is classified. http://thefederalist.com/2015/12/09/democrats-are-lying-about-their-gun-sales-ban/
  14. http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/03/daniel-zimmerman/dear-wayne-im-joining-nra/ Dear Wayne – Why I’m Not Joining the NRA First and foremost I would like to thank you, the NRA and its members for defending our Nations Second Amendment rights. I also thank you for sending me an offer to join the NRA . . . From the first day I became a firearms owner I have wanted to very much become a NRA member and I still do. However, I live in the state of New Jersey and I am sorely disappointed and embarrassed in the way the national branch of the NRA has abandoned my home state and its law abiding firearms owners. This was disgustingly obvious during the 2013 hearings in Trenton where gun owners were under fire and attacked by New Jersey’s so-called lawmakers. I witnessed only our local Second Amendment associations such as ANJRPC and NJ2AS fighting to preserve our 2A rights in Trenton. Your national branch’s inactions continue to this day. The national branch of the NRA has made a very strong statement via its non-actions that it is not willing to support and fight for its New Jersey members’ Second Amendment rights. Rather, it has chosen to use New Jersey and other states as sacrificial lambs. An example of this is clearly printed on page fourteen of the January 2014 issue of American Rifleman. James W. Porter III wrote, “Look at California, New Jersey or Connecticut where, prodded by the Brady Campaign and billionaire Michael Bloomberg, real bans criminalize gun ownership have become law”. The fact that you know this and do nothing other than hang these states out to dry is 100% unacceptable and irresponsible. You may be wondering why I am referring to the NRA as the “national branch”.
  15. It's a "win--win" for them. We do nothing, they win, we do something they win. We need to think outside of the box and continue to push freedom, protection and direction. We can ONLY do this by changing the sentiment of the people as politics are a lost cause. I believe there's somewhat of a trend growing with distrust for government, how Paris showed us numerous times that gun laws only get innocent people killed, corruption, out of control spending, etc. People are desperately seeking for truth and something that makes sense, hence the reason several of neighboring churches are overflowing with new members. Now we need to be more vigilant than ever. Posting on every darn forum and comment section on the internet that we can, taking new shooters to the range, get in discussions with people while waiting in lines. We outnumber them GREATLY and our message is inherently inviting and easy to agree with----now's the time to bring it to anyone and everyone. Unless the hearts and minds of the people change, we're doomed as I believe every exit and option has been passed. We can't rely on others to fix it, we must....Besides God hearing our prayers I see no other way out of this mess.
  16. I believe the founders knew these types of things would happen at some point, hence the strong wording in the 2A and reason for adding this amendment. However, even though it's crystal clear wording, these progressives continue to violate a Right that clearly states should not be violated. These are the very same people that scream from the rooftops when funding for condoms is cut or telling them they need ID to vote, but they'll deny you a given/God guaranteed right to self defense because their "heart" tells them it's wrong. "Just following orders..." Yeah...okay!
  17. I'm going to put the following bumper stickers on my car: -"NRA" -Obama 2012 -Black lives matter -Glenn Beck That should really have them scratching their heads.
  18. Funny you mentioned that. We went to the Outer Banks but my daughter had to be in work on Wednesday so she left in the AM and we got a phone call with her crying. She was lost and at the red light using her GPS zoomed in to see where she was and The LEO was right there and pulled her over. Keep in mind she was stopped at a red light in DE and simply zoomed in on her dash mounted GPS.. He proceeded to lecture her on what she did wrong, issued her a ticked ($125) then asked for her phone #. She was absolutely freaked out and gave a random work phone number. I have no idea why he'd do such a thing and it really ticked me off as a father. Anyway, there you have it....
  19. I really hope you're being sarcastic because what you're saying is "be perfect and you won't be bothered"....which is irrational and is not the way to look how law enforcement works.. My daughter has been pulled over "by accident" numerous times. Everything is in order, she drives like a saint and yet she gets pulled over. It's not a cop's job (in my opinion) to make sure your car is "up to snuff" then make a lame excuse to pull you over if it's not. Are all cops like this---no. Are some---yes, some are. Now you go from being a law abiding citizen to a suspect for doing nothing wrong. BTW, there were 40,000 laws added to the books last year----anything could be found wrong. Whatever happened to "innocent until proven guilty"? Being pulled over for a brake light then suddenly being searched because a "strange smell" is not freedom and an irrational explanation of law enforcement.
  20. First off, with AG Kane in there it won't happen. However, I believe if she does not step down, there's a good chance for a true conservative or Pro Gun Republican to fill the slot next election (2016). I think at that point we can start the process of pressuring the new AG regarding reciprocity and allowing "Non Resident" permits once again in PA. I have many friends from NJ that have their FL carry and are very upset about what Kane did. These people are honest citizens that only want to protect themselves when walking around Philly. Hang in there, but nothing will happen for now and I hope AG Kane stays in there until the elections because she's at 22% approval rating almost guaranteeing a loss this election and #2, Wolf would appoint someone 10X worse.
  21. CNN topic: "A congressional fight looms over funding for Planned Parenthood following the release this summer of several secretly recorded, heavily edited videos of Planned Parenthood employees discussing the sale of fetal tissue for scientific research, but the new CNN/ORC Poll shows the public would much rather continue funding Planned Parenthood than face a government shutdown." So let me get this straight---this is either a FLAT out lie or our country has completely gone dark. First off, how is the video heavily edited? It's 44 minutes (9 separate videos) of RAW video and they're selling parts of children. This should be an open and shut, good vs evil, life vs murder case---but it's not---why? Heck, I don't even care about the "making money" part, it's the dismembered parts of little children and media, politicians and some Americans are accepting this??? Seeing body parts of innocent children scattered across a table should wake anyone up to the demise of our society and country. Secondly, this is why I don't plan to watch the debate---my guess is the BIASED questions will be something like this: "we know guns kill innocent children and puppies, so why do you support the NRA and gun rights"? "You hate women, gays and minorities because you steal money and exploit them---why"? These sites are so biased it makes me sick---the politicians bother me, but I feel media and their deception and refusal to do their job has done even more damage to this great nation.Sorry, rant over---not watching this biased circus.
  22. Official Psych exam: 1) Do you fly the American flag? 2) Do you have a job? 3) Do you believe in God? 4) Do you have morals and values? If you answered "yes" to any of these you will need further treatment along with intense rehab and will be incarcerated immediately.
  23. Hello, My buddy in NJ used me as a reference on his handgun permit and they sent a letter that says it MUST be notarized. I thought that did not have to be done. Do I have to get a notary involved? Also, theres probably 10 plus questions that need answering, is thus typical?
  24. I do not trust our Supreme court anymore and believe they would actually demolish and shred the 2A---However, they're not going to do it until public opinion drops on the support of the 2A. I don't like the way they have been skewing the balance of power, writing laws and bypassing Congress for referral. I finally came to the grim assessment that the USA as we knew it is gone. However, not that I gave up but just to refocus how deal, cope and begin planning to [not] let the new infrastructure take root.
