  1. Change is good. It removes any regrets about not doing something. I think the reason some people don't make changes is fear of the unknown. This is not how I live my life. I left NJ when I realized it was getting more shitty every day and would never get better. It was the best thing I have done in a long time. I packed up the whole family and relocated to a much nicer area than I could ever find in NJ. I say the fact that you are considering a change is enough reason to make the change.
  2. That is good news, you will become a protected class and get whatever you want free from the government.
  3. Wow, I am not the one arguing with anyone on this topic. You seem to the guy that needs to be "be right". You came out swinging with four posts in this thread. Nobody else did. Not being overly impressed by technology you seem enamored with is not trying to "be right", it is expressing an opinion.
  4. That technology has been around for decades. It is still decades away from being usable.
  5. It looked fun, but I have no clue what a man with jets on his hands could do boarding a ship by himself. The transition to his weapon system was a bit delayed at best. He looked more like a skeet target than an aerial assaulter.
  6. Look at how Federal laws concerning marijuana are ignored by many states. I believe that marijuana is still a Schedule I CDS. It is very similar, the Feds do not have the resources to enforce these laws without state cooperation.
  7. I have to agree that the tool is a worthless POS. I lost my original one and bought one and got one from Brownell's. I just found them in stock at Midwest Gun Works https://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/prod/C61721
  8. I agree with you on the value of some guns going down. I have bought 5 pre-lock S&W revolvers within the last 5 months at great prices.
  9. I was just posting my personal opinion. I will not sell any of my guns just to make a quick buck. I also wouldn't pay $1500 for any AK. I just seem to regret selling most of the guns that I have sold in the past and won't make that mistake again. The only time I sell guns now is to get a better gun. I won't buy any better versions of the AR's or AK's that I have now due to the stupid prices and am fine with what I currently have.
  10. If the whole purpose is to mount a light, then have you looked at the Steiner Mk7 Battle Beretta 1301 LED Tactical Shotgun Light? It looks like it replaces the end cap.
  11. I would not sell if you ever wanted another AK. The price to replace will be very high, or the sale may be banned in the future. This is not a good time to sell guns that are being targeted by the gun grabbers.
  12. I have ordered many times from SGAmmo. I hope they make it through this as well.
  13. It is not about finding a gun faster. It is about getting a lazy public worker to do their job. It is also about dealing with threats from the public worker. They need to be held accountable for their job performance and actions. Nothing will ever change if people think you need to walk on eggshells and kiss their asses to have them perform their duties. Someone has to speak up.
  14. Not sure they would or could do anything about a personnel issue. That is for the Chief/Deputy Chief. I would start with them and escalate with a local politician or state rep if that doesn't work.
  15. I agree 100%. Civil servants never want a complaint against them. Even if the retiree is best buds with the Chief a formal complaint is something that is a headache for the retiree and the Chief. It is the squeaky wheel that gets the grease. The ass-kissing citizen will get walked on all day long. You need to assert yourself either directly or getting either a local or state rep involved. A lazy civil servant will do you no favors just because you kiss their ass. Call the NJSP firearms unit number and inform them of what happened. I had an incident when I was living in NJ when OGAM became law and my local department would not issue more than one PP. I called the NJSP firearms unit and spoke with the sergeant to get clarification on the law. He called the local PD and told them that they were violating my rights and could be sued as a result. My permits (4) were delivered by a Sgt from the local PD with an apology for their misunderstanding of the law.
  16. After leaving NJ I have never seen a gas station with separate pricing for cash/credit card. In a retail/service business like an FFL it would make more sense to me to have standard rates with CC fees factored in and then offer a cash discount.
  17. Yes on the 10mm bras, I do have a 10 and do reload it.
  18. You are trying to apply a billable rate model to a retail business. It doesn't work that way. The time, electric, and other incidental are a sunk cost. Just the cost of doing business, same as CC fees. I never understood anyone adding 3% fees for using credit cards. Again just a cost of doing business. Your billable rate is $275/hr. Is this on a T&M contract? Do you have 1880hrs or 1920hrs at a specific job? Are you a consultant that just bills for hours actually under contract? There is a big difference between the two models. 275hr * 1920 = $528,000/yr. vs $275 * number of contract hours = much lower.
  19. I have a lot of components like brass, bullets, and powder. I have been loading a lot of ammo lately and did an inventory this weekend. I am fine with everything but small pistol primers. I am down to 6700 SPP. That may sound like a lot but it goes very quickly. I do have 4500 Small Pistol Magnum primers and about 10K SRP that I will use if I have to. My normal "full" stock is 20K of SPP and LPP. I still have 14K LPP remaining. I have seen too much evidence using real pressure measuring equipment that shows there is no need to drastically reduce loads when substituting SPM for SPP like many people think. Here is an example of one such video.
  20. The silver handgun will not make one bit of difference. Movement and scent are what gives you away when hunting deer (which is what I assume you are speaking about). I find it very difficult to hunt with a scope on my handgun. I prefer open sights and keep my shots within 30 yards (I prefer within 25 yards and closer). Keep the distances within your personal abilities and you should have no problem.
  21. I am referring to the ones styled like the original USGI 20rd mags without a curved body.
  22. The biggest negative on the 45 caliber AR's are the magazines. I have a 450 Bushmaster and regular AR mags are very unreliable unless they are the old style 20rd mags. I wouldn't use the regular 5.56 follower in a 45 caliber AR unless you are just plinking and don't care about feed issues. I know that the 458 is more tapered than the 450 Bushmaster but they use the same mags. Save yourself the headache and use the correct mags (or switch out the followers). They are fun to shoot and I prefer a big slow heavy bullet for most of my purposes.
