  1. Welcome to the Garden State-Where sprouts of freedom get smothered by bullsh!t.
  2. Fellow Ironman, class of '88! I also have some other connection there, pm if you want details!
  3. Welcome to the forums, 5th4x4! Having friends and family who are former or enlisted Marines, my family and I thank you for your service! If you're in Paramus, I'm a few miles up 17 from you, actually in walking distance from the "Ramsey" Ramsey Outdoor Store. I completed my m4 build in the spring, I'll post pics when I get a chance. Building your own is NO problem whatsoever, you just need the right tools. I have them, if you're interested. Just pm me, and we can meet up. By the way, Bravo Company had a great sale recently on blemished uppers, I have one and it's pristine. Your only issues will be ordering the pieces for the build. I also have some great links that take you through the process. Again, pm me if interested, I'd love to help out.
  4. Great deal, it's what I got with a 16" M4 barrel. For the life of me I could NOT find a scratch on the thing.
  5. Midway has CCI Blazer Brass for $12.99 right now, not sure on shipping.
  6. Welcome to the forums from just northeast of you in Bergen County! I have to say, and no offense to you, but Cali weirded me out. I've been in and around the LA/Huntington Beach area twice. It seemed that almost everyone was trying real, real freakin' hard to be "laid back." But it was beautiful. Welcome!
  7. Thank you Frank and to all at NJ2AS! Your dedication and drive are much appreciated! I'm proud to be a member!
  8. Anyway, congratulations on the newest members of the family! Now get out there and teach them how to mow the lawn!
  9. About 12 years ago I spent a week with my gf at the time. Got the last flight out of the northeast before a badass February storm hit. We spent several days in the western part, by San Ignacio and Belmopan. The place was called Black Rock Lodge. Cool as hell, took a trip to the Caracol Mayan ruins. I rescued a tarantula in one of the rivers, it was floating by on its back, and I grabbed it and tossed it on the riverbank. I'm still waiting for the karma to get back to me. Anyway, we spent several more days on Ambergris Caye. I didn't dive, but we did some snorkeling and drinking. English speaking, which helps. All in all, one if the most beautiful places I've ever been. It is a small country, so try to experience both the jungle and the coast, you can see both in a day. Great choice on destination.
  10. That's what I do, pistols and long guns. Each firearm in it's own sock.
  11. Sweet! Now I need inspiration for my fifth.
  12. My point exactly. I ended up not saying anything to Christie, but cheered like an emmen effer for Garrett. I do love that man.
  13. I don't know, I'm fortunate to be able to use the range in Waldwick.
  14. My wife half-jokingly wanted to send our almost 6 year old girl into the street in front of his car with a sign saying, in her hand writing of course, "Mr. Christie, please don't keep my parents from protecting us!" I almost agreed. But then I thought, "Who would ever have the balls to use children as props to further their views on the validity of the Second Amendment?" And I chose to take the high road, knowing that children should never be used as props to further an adult's agenda. That's just wrong.
  15. Where are you at? That could create some other choices on where you could join (I.e. town owned ranges). There's one in Waldwick that is open to others.
  16. In another area, maybe. For all of the liberal filth in Bergen County, we still have a strong conservative presence. The Bergen County Tea party marches every year, as does Scott Garrett (thank God he's my rep!)
  17. Actually, from Carney's Point on the Delaware River to Penn's Grove, including Atlantic City and Cape May, and south are below the Mason-Dixon line. If I remember correctly ( I could be wrong) New Jersey was the only "northern" state who did NOT vote for Lincoln.
  18. So the family and I are heading to our traditional parade in Ridgewood tomorrow. Christie and his family are the grand marshals for the parade. Question: What should I yell to him as he goes by? I was thinking something along the lines of "Veto the Sweeney gun bills!". Or perhaps "Don't make law abiding gun owners criminals!" Any suggestions?
  19. Hahahaha! That's what I was thinking! Or hipsters (shudder)
  20. Dog. Good size, rescue pup, and raise him or her from a puppy. I have two, 95 lbs and 75 lbs. Wouldn't hurt a fly (actually they do try to snatch them when they get close). Train them CORRECTLY! Meaning with love, not fear. If an adult comes to my house who they don't know, my wife and I, and even my 5 and 7 year old girls, can give the "release" command and they revert to lapdogs. If not, God bless ya.
  21. I am so sorry for your loss. Dogs are truly God's gift to us, no other creature can love us as unconditionally. I share your pain, having been there several times myself. It never gets easier, but the pain you feel is lessened when you welcome a new rescue dog (for me) into the family.
  22. +1 for the CZ 75. The B model is a safety, the BD is a decocker. Thinner grip than the Beretta 92FS, which I also have and love, but also more accurate than the Beretta, at least for me.
