  1. Thanks all, we are going to the shelter tonight.
  2. We are looking for a Lab/Lab mix 1-3 years old, hopefully house trained & good on a leash. It's a big back yard on a pond for him or her to swim in. Free to a good home describes the situation perfectly. We are about to visit the shelters in Monmouth & Ocean counties but if anybody knows of a good dog looking for a good home, I would appreciate the message. Our chocolate Lab died and the house is too quite. He was neck deep in the muck constantly, what else would a Lab do? He would hide under the dock to see if I was mad at him for unauthorized swimming but it was OK for a dog doing what a dog does. He sure kept the Canadians away but there was an armed truce with the swans.
  3. It's all in the safe for fire proof safety.
  4. What is the legal procedure for a hand gun gift? Does it need a pistol permit sent in?
  5. It's getting VERY lucky! All the You tube videos in the world cannot describe exactly how to tilt the barrel.
  6. The 45 minute method and the 2 minute method. Luckily, I used the 2 minute method this week but I have struggled in the past.
  7. Invest in the "Bark Trainer" It makes a noise if they bark rapidly. My wife's dog learned how to bark very slowly. At least you can say that you are taking steps to correct the "problem". She trained me to do the laundry with Slim Jims
  8. Just bought a trigger return spring for a 103 year old Iver Johnson online for $4. It fit! I still will probably not shoot it but it least it works.
  9. I looked into this also because a Charger "kit" was on e-bay, cheap. I declined due to the huge illegality issue. I would rather sleep soundly at home instead of the gray bar hotel. The post with the laws cited is 100% on target.
  10. Who cares? I get a full body pat down EVERY time due to some metal and I really don't give a s**t.
  11. http://www.bahamasgo.com/divedivedive.htm Try this for scuba. The shark feeding is well worth the money. The sharks show up when they hear the boat and I swam past them to the bottom at 60'. This outfit is next to one of the most popular other companies on the island but much better. They even have inexpensive cottages.
  12. Been diving since 1985. Very fun and well worth the time & $ to get PADI. Don't get hung up about the cost of equipment, you only need personal gear. Unless you dive a lot, owning BC,tanks, regulator, computer is unnecessary. NJ ocean diving is not much fun plus it's hard to bring a gun. I am a couple of times a year in the Caribbean and prefer to rent new stuff instead of traveling with my 20 year old junk. Of course, my old stuff is perfect for marina repair diving.
  13. Any of those brands are OK. I have 2 Mitutoyo, one for work and the same one at home. The digital ones are good because you can switch from metric to inch and the floating zero point is used more often than you think. There are some inexpensive digitals that would be fine. Check the www.mscdirect.com, they may have units on sale. Don't buy a used digital or a vernier scale unit, they aren't what you want to use all the time. A 0-1 micrometer is also useful and the vernier ones are perfect. I have about 6.
  14. Sailing, kayaking & drinking in the garage. Wood working, metal working and staring out the window.

If you are outside of the US, make sure you have a $100 bill folded up and put away. That might get you out of a jam. It was my backup plan in Mexico but luckily, the LEO (no uniform, heavily armed) was satisfied with $14.
  16. Santa brought me one. It is an awesome piece of hardware and I highly recommend it. Dramatic noise and recoil reduction. Besides a little weight on the muzzle, it keeps the climb to a minimum and the next shot is already 90% lined up. Plus, it looks cool. Shoot a Ruger with this and an automatic clip loader and you can put a box down range accurately in less than 5 minutes.
  17. I will never forget seeing a couple emerge from the deep in matching multi thousand dollar scuba outfits. Us with our 20 year old patched stuff and milsurp crap.
  18. Sure Box of clays & 100 shells Compensator for Ruger MKII. It is a work of art Targets All from dear Mrs.
  19. It may be a nice one, here is a pic http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/5107006
  20. I don't know anything about this model but might be worth a look http://jerseyshore.craigslist.org/atq/1523520601.html
  21. Holy S**t! How do you know all this stuff? I have to ask Mrs. to turn the TV on for me.
  22. Make sure you screw it down. You are much more likely to lose it in a burglary than use it for HD. Put it on your home insurance. The keypad will be fine for middle of the night. I like the between the stud models, easier to conceal. Might want a good flashlight in the box also. If you get a real safe, get a big one or you will be buying another one sooner or later. Don't get a Stackon cabinet, they are cheap and I could peel one open in under 5 minutes. Whatever you get, remember it is a fraction of the cost of a gun. Also, they are great for stashing all the other important papers & things around the house that should be protected from fire or loss. I even throw in the laptop and wife's extra jewelry when we go on vacation. Locking them up good = piece of mind Yes, safes are one of my many sicknesses. There was a free bank vault on CL but at 7' high x 7' wide & 2' thick, it looked a little heavy.
  23. First one loaded is birdshot, next 5 are OO. I think that is the legal way to do it.
  24. Went last night. Road is scraped bare & had the place to myself. Little cool but still a great time. Glad I joined. Much progress on the pit remediation.
  25. Oh boy. Crappy lunch and happy speech from a company that has not given a raise since 6/08. No bonus, no nothing except thanks that we even still have a job. How great is this for producing a quality product? NOT. Cash bar = FAIL At least I will be home by 3 instead of 6.
