  1. I dont know how that happened. I'm not too good at posting I guess. Ill try and figure out how to delete this
  2. A few months ago there was a recall on Eotech sights, if anyone remembers. I remember some of us responding to it,as I did too. I sent it to the firm supposedly representing buyers who experienced problems with certain models of the Eotech. As yet I have heard nothing from them (the firm), now I'm thinking it could have all been a scam. I never even received a email from them saying they received it. I did track it via USPS, and someone got it, but here it is the middle of June and no word on a settlement as yet. As a matter of fact, not a word at all. Did anybody else fall for this? I may be out a $400 Eotech.
  3. I have a friend that buys all the exact parts he needs from Caspian. He has the frame shipped to the FFL, Then has the parts fitted by a gunsmith. So basically he gets a custom built .45 with all the bells and whistles exactly the way he wants for about the price of Kimber. I've been on this forum for awhile now and really never have seen anybody write about Caspian, good or bad. What say ye all?

  6. That is a terrific video. Having dealt with numerous small arms ammo going off in a housefire, I can attest to the fact that the video is spot on correct. A lot of noise but no explosions. However, keep in mind we are speaking of smokeless powder and not BLACK POWDER, which is whole different animal. I have witnessed 30 pounds of black powder go off, which blew the house off the foundation and injured several firefighters some seriously.
  7. Sorry if I double posted this. Also, apologize for not getting back to all of you sooner, but when I checked there were no views. Billy charges $35 for a transfer. Not too bad for being in the middle of nowhere. They will also bore site your rifle for free if you bring it in to the store.

  9. A friend of mine has opened a small gun shop in Hopatcong Borough. Wild Bill's Rod and Gun is now open inside the Hopatcong Hardware, Gas Services building. Great bunch of guys, decent selection of hand guns and long guns. Bill does FFL transfers. Call for more information. I just bought a 629 from him which I've been looking for for awhile. 973 398-1702. Prices are reasonable considering travel time and effort.
  10. How come nobody ever talks about Caspian? I have a friend who has all his own guns built with parts from Caspian. They are beautiful, reliable and somewhat customisable with great support from the company.
  11. I've been a fire investigator / inspector for over 30 years. I have a boatload of all kinds and all brands of flashlights. A marine corps sergeant told me that he never goes anywhere without a blade and reliable flashlight. And now neither do I. If your life depends on it use only American made flashlights. I just got LA police gear L1 from: lapolicegear.com . 800 lumens this thing is unbelievable. But I still carry a surefire as a backup. I use a rechargeable Pelican for everyday use but I don't go anywhere without small flashlight of some type and a small quality blade. And I mean everywhere, from weddings to food shopping I always carry both. Have you ever been in the back of Costco when the power goes out and you can't see a hand in front of your face? It happened to me and I'm the only one who could see my way out.
  12. Funny you should say that. I've been shooting and collecting for over 40 years. I've shot in competition for decades.I finally arrived at a point in my life where I can afford to buy all the guns I wanna buy, I joined cherry Ridge for years I never went there once. I joined shongum and cant even figure out how to make the required back stop so I never went there either. I have at least 6 new guns that I've never fired but always wanted. Now they are all going to be outlawed by the new legislation. So I'm done too. I can't bear to sell them and lose all that money I have invested. So now I just sit and wait to see what happens.
  13. Yes. You can shoot .223 in a 5.56 barrel but not the other way around.
  14. Facebook says Hackettstown Guns and Ammo has one they just got in.
  15. Handcuffs. Any person who knowingly has in his possession handcuffs as defined in P.L.1991, c. 437 (C.2C:39-9.2), under circumstances not manifestly appropriate for such lawful uses as handcuffs may have, is guilty of a disorderly persons offense. A law enforcement officer shall confiscate handcuffs possessed in violation of the law.

    Arrrrggghh!

Call or email Henry. I didnt like the way my fore stock fit when I bought mine, I sent them an e mail and within 3 hours they called me and sent me a new one for nothing. They even paid the shipping. Nice people to talk to, very friendly and concerned about their product. Happy shooting.
  17. Sounds like C.A. R to me. Center Access Relock, invented by the late Paul Castle. our police use this very effectively.
  18. Interesting that the .40 cal ammo was hollow point. Which as you know is forbidden in combat (war) by the Geneva Convention. So guess who they are going to use it on? just sayin........
  19. Ok, I followed the discussion the other night as to what to feed a CMP M1. By the time I got to the charts and graphs, I was totally confused. So what is the bottom line? Can I only shoot WW2 surplus 30-06, or can I shoot modern SAMMI rated modern 30-06. I don't want to ruin my beautiful Springer. Thanks in advance, Rich
  20. First thing I would do is copy the printer! (CAD machine). Just sayin'
  21. +1 for restraint of High Exposure. just sayin.
  22. I was on their pistol team for years. (many decades ago) Nice range, nice guys too. But FYI only lead bullets. No +P, no magnum, no jacketed bullets. So if you can shoot lead out of your 9mm you're good to go, if you ever get in. It may have changed but there was no 2 handed shooting, no combat. It was old school .22;.38 wadcutters; .45 semi-wadcutters and a few 9's mostly reloads because of the full lead bullets. There are (were) some very experienced shooters there, and one can learn a lot from them.
