  1. It was great to see you guys. Gonna be out there again soon I hope. How's the walking coming along?
  2. Are you using a laptop? Do you have comcast? Did you upgrade to their new wireless router recently? If you did then that may be the problem. Turn off your wireless card and try a hard wire to the router and see if it works. There have been issues with windows and startup issues with wireless routers.
  3. I looked at alot of pool companies when we put our pool in and considered vinyl, gunite, fiberglass. Gunite is really unnecessary but looks very classy. A nice vinyl design can too but the edge/coping has to match the surroundings. If you are in Toms River, I would definitely consider Integrity Pools. They show up on time to build and it is done quickly. The guys they subcontract to do a great job. It is a family run company. The after installation service is outstanding and the owner picks up the phone. They put in vinyl lined pools. If you have full overhead sun you probaly won't need the heater except in the spring and late fall. Clorinated vs salt really doesn't matter. At the time the technology for the salt still wasn't up to par. Things may be different now. I would pay extra for the real coping or concrete edge for aesthetics especially if you have a high end house. The aluminum edging makes the pool look cheap. The vinyl is easy to repair or replace. No sharp objects though. I grew up with an old Anthony gunite pool. It is colder with the white plaster. Redoing the coping and the the plaster is a major undertaking and expensive. When you are ready to do it, it will almost cost as much as the pool. The plaster also does a number on the bottom of your feet if you spend alot of time in the pool. In the sandy area down here the fiberglass ones can 'pop' out of the ground unless anchored and filled correctly.
  4. For all you guys joining me in the Philadelphia Tough Mudder tomorrow...It's gonna be hot!!!! Start hydrating now and all night. Good luck, have fun and be safe.
  5. Don't we have a member here running for Sheriff in Ocean county? I remember a thread where he introduced himself but can't find it.
  6. I couldn't find this info if this has been asked or talked about. I need some help with the primaries coming up June 4. November won't count unless we get some pro 2A candidates on the ballot on June 4. Who, is running that is pro 2A and who should we not vote for. Or, where can I/we get this info. I posted this in GD for more traffic. Thanks ETA: While I was posting this 66stingray posted in General firearms discussion, If we can at least have a few forums where we can find this info it would be appreciated.
  7. AAR - after action report Englishtown is fairly easy compared to the ones in PA due to the lack of mountains. Cardio is a must. It is rule number one. The obstacles are not that bad. Vermont is a **** because of the mountains. June shouldn't be too bad. No snow. The one in 2011 had snow on the mountain and the water was 34 degrees from the melting snow.
  8. I use them on my Glocks. I like them better than the factory Glock sights.
  9. Going June 1. I'll try to give you an AAR. This will be my fourth and probably last.
  10. Liberty in Mt. Laurel (my safe dealer and original deliverer) will not move the safe. They referred me to a rigging company. $1100 to move it up some cement stairs and to another location in same town. To be fair another safe 700 lbs will be going also. My next safe may be from another safe company. Fort Knox maybe. When they (Liberty) delivered the safe they said "No problem just call us when you need to move the safe". Now the anwer is "no way, can't do it."
  11. Does anyone know if the door for a Liberty Lincoln 50 can be removed to make moving easier? Thanks
  12. I used to live down the street from that house closer to the bay. My old house had gotten water in the first floor. When I had gotten flood insurance the survey said my bottom floor as eight feet above sea level. That house looks like it was on a slab and this was probaly about 4 feet above sea level. Alot of homes were lost and a few of my friends and neighbors lost everything. It was very sad to see peoples' entire lives in piles by the street. Pictures etc. Alot of things were irreplaceable.
  13. To be honest, I don't know. I had a friend build this for me when all that stuff was tops. We were playing alot of COD and Battlefield 2, 2142, Crysis, MOH. I haven't gamed for the last COD MW3. Was completely into gaming with the same clan every single night. I was interested in trying out this new COD. My kids play Xbox but I can't stand the consoles nor the controllers. Started out with Half Life, Deus Ex, Max Pain, etc. Still like 2142 as my favorite multiplayer team.
  14. Thank you TK. Will this cause and lag while playing?
  15. I still run Windows XP. The minimum requirement says Vista or 7. Can I somehow play on the XP machine or do I need to build a new one. I have to use XP for work. Alot of radiology applications still use XP. I'm running two mother boards quad core i7's (eight i7's, 965 @ 3.2 GHz, 2.12 GHz, 1.99GB RAM) and two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280's. It was built for gaming about 4 years ago. Maybe just upgrading the video cards? Or is the XP going to keep me from running it? The box draws about 850 watts. I have a 1200 watt power source. No problems with COD BO I
  16. In regards to the CO shooting as well as others... This is an old video with a very powerful message: You would think that Shumer would have gotten the message, but it looks like he's got a face of contempt for this woman
  17. To AndyB and all you other Tough Mudders out there...CONGRATULATIONS !!!! You guys have earned bragging rights, even you young whipper snappers. AndyB, there were no small logs. After I saw what some of the little women were carrying, I couldn't bring myself to get a small log. SpacemanFry you'll do fine. Just like with Zombies, Rule #1 is Cardio. Have fun and be careful and keep going. Can't tell you what to wear cause it may be warmer but at least bring gloves. Underarmor batting gloves work well or the wide reciever (sticky) ones work well. Spectators, if someone is coming should be ready to get muddy too. Remember that pain is weakness leaving the body.
  18. AndyB, How did you do? Can you walk today? We started at 8:40. I put the 'I Like Turtles" team togethr. This was the first one that son got to do with me. It was a great experience for both of us.
  19. At TriState in NJ they should be fine. If you do the ones in the mountains or where they go through the woods, they actuall toss large branches and place the path over rocky terrain. I can't remember how many times I stubbed my toes on the rocks and it hurt even wearing sneakers. I can't imagine kicking a large log or rock with Vibrams on. When I was tired even picking up my legs was hard and thus stubbed my toes alot. The Tristate has minimal woods/rocky terrain if any at all. Here's some pics to help you get motivated from a couple of different TM's, if a fat 47yo out of shape guy can do it anyone can do it (notice the pain): They have gotten better with the watering stations and even throw in some banana and energy snack stations so a camelback may not be necessary but I'm still not taking any chances. Cramping up is a nightmare and the only way to solve that problem is water and electrolytes (gel packs). The camelbacks really don't cause any problems and if/when you need it you'll really need it. Better to have it and not need it than not have it and need it.
  20. I 've done a few Tough Mudders and posted some tips on AR15.com. Here's an excerpt for those who are thinking of doing it: To future mudders (especially those that let life get in the way of training and staying in shape - you know who you are, you got married, have kids, gotta work to pay the mortgage etc) some words of advice that might help: 1) A camelback does really help. Just get a low profile version so it does not get caught on the nets. Drink up at the water stops. 2) If you are doing it in the cold and you have an aversion to near freezing temps, consider wearing a 1-2mm long sleeve wet suit top. Don't forget anti chaffe when you put it on. I wore a sleeveless underarmor shirt under a longsleeve underarmor baseball shirt. The long sleeves also help when crawling over the rocks in the mud. The Tri-State, although the temperature was warmer than the PA one, felt colder. There were alot of water obstacles and it they weren't wet, they made it wet and if it wasn't cold they made it cold with ice. 3) If you plan on going through the 50,000 or so pics, wear a bright shirt so you can easily pick yourself out in the thumbnails. 4) I carried three powerbar gel packs (no caffeine) that fit in the camelback pocket. I used one and handed out the other two to people who seemed like they needed the extra boost. One guy was a "kid" in great shape that was stuck going up hill at the end, he was cramped up like a vise. I gave him the rest of my water and one of my team members and myself got under his arms and helped him up the hill. I think the electrolytes in the gel packs helped. A spectator at the top gave him a bananna and more water. He finished with us. 5) Talk to triatheletes for clues to what to eat prior and during the mudder. 6) Wear gloves...I wore batting gloves by under armor. They were alot less expensive than the football gloves. 7) The water is shockingly cold. Be prepared. Do not stop moving. If you are in good shape and you're moving through fast, you'll be waiting at the obstacles. 8) If you have weak ankles and have a tendency to twist them, be sure to wear a brace that fits in your shoe. You will twist your ankle especially at the end when you get tired. 9) Train cardio 10) Train cardio 11) Did I mention train cardio? 12) One more thing, train cardio!!!! Tri-State (NJ) wasn't as cardio intense as the PA or Vermont. Climbing the mountains are a ****. Hope this helps and good luck!!!! See you there, and I'll be doing PA this April 28.
  21. Although the room seems like a good idea, I suggest you place your firearms in a safe in the room. The door can be breached as can the walls unless they are heavily fortified.
