I picked mine up early August. I put a set of Glock night sights on it purchased directly from Glock. I used it a couple of weeks ago for my latest LEOSA qual. I put the Pearce +1 extensions on four of my six mags. 1,004 flawless rounds later...I like it for my EDC gun.

I picked up my G43 a couple of weeks ago that was on order from my BL dealer since early April. Two range session and 636 rds. later...0 malfunctions. I fired a variety of ball and HP ammo of various bullet weights. My G43 does not have a magazine insertion issue as reported by some. I have two of the newer mags (33388 over 01) that came with the pistol and four of the original type (33388). I've been carrying it in a Comp-Tac Infidel IWB holster.

100% in agreement with this statement. I couldn't have put it any better.

My EDC is a Glock 27. Has been for about 85% of the time for the past 18 years. IMO, it is the near perfect EDC gun. I have a Kahr PM9 for those times when the G27 is just too big to carry. I have a Glock 43 blue label on order. Size means not too much to me because I very rarely pocket carry the PM9. Normally it is IWB. From what I can see, the G43 is midway between the G27 and the PM9.

When we lived in Sussex County, we used All County Septic Service out of Vernon for many years with no complaints.

We have stayed at the Hampton Inn in Statesville a couple of times. Typical Hampton Inn, clean, good service, secure, good breakfast. We use Hampton 99.9% of the time when we travel and have always been satisfied.

When traveling from FL to NJ and carrying under LEOSA such as now, I carry the Hornady Critical Duty 175 gr. Flex-Tip .40 S&W in my G27.

Old poll...for me, former LEO and left NJ for FL 8.5 years ago due to the gun laws and the NJ economic situation. LEOSA works just fine for me wherever I travel. I have a FL CCW but rely mainly on LEOSA even while in FL. My wife and I are currently in NJ for Christmas. Carried all the way up and will do so all the way back...legally.

My wife and I have traveled from Central FL to North Jersey and then back to FL twice a year for a few years now. After doing the I95 thing for the first couple of years, we decided to make a change to the "back way" as I call it. From North Jersey we take 78 into PA to 81 to 77 to 26 to 95 and for us...we take 295 to 10 to 301 back to Central FL. Straight thru it's 19 hours with the usual stops along the way. We leave either location (NJ or FL) @ 4:00 AM to get a jump on traffic.

This is nothing new to one like myself has been around the NJ gun mess for a long time. I grew up in a small NJ town where everyone knew everyone and sometimes too much of their personal business. When my Father would go to the Police Chief and ask for a pistol purchase permit, the Chief would always remind him to have the permit when we went out to shoot...just in case. He was suggesting this just because. Now, in those days, we went to the local sand pits or off of a rural dirt road and shot with no one careing. In those days it wasn't uncommon the finds yourself shooting in the same "pit" as a local LEO or State Trooper. Fast forward to today here in FL, I carry reduced copies of my ATF Forms 1 and 4 when I go to the range. It's no big deal and no one has ever asked to see my "paperwork" for my stuff.

WOW! I post this and then check back after a few hours and find 104 replies, mostly negative. I had no idea that there were so many LEO haters on this forum. Yes, many of you have voiced your opinion and those opinions reek of hate and envy toward LEOs. Well, I am a retired LEO from NJ (15 years now) now living in the gun shine state of FL, a gun free state that welcomes retired LEOs from all over the USA with open arms and happily qualifies us for carry under HR 218. The Sheriff of the agency that I qualify with also thanks us for our service at each qualification. I legally carry back and forth from NJ to FL a couple of times a year. The only impediment that I incur is the fact that NJ refuses to recognize that I can carry HP ammo under HR 218. I'm sure this will be corrected in the future. As a retired LEO I do not put myself above the average gun owner nor do I feel like I am privileged…being retired is just the way it is and I can carry anywhere in the USA except for the usual places that are prohibited. If this offends you, there’s nothing that I can do to remedy that unfortunate circumstance but I will offer no apology for the right that I have under federal law or for my 25 years of LE service. Not happy with the gun laws in NJ? I think you know the answer that that question.

I received this yesterday from a friend whom I consider a reliable source for such information. Subject: Retired LEOs targeted Qualified retired LEOs who meet LEOSA's standards can carry concealed without a permit, but “that does not mean they cannot be arrested.” That is what a New Jersey Deputy Attorney General argued in court this week. The State also argued that retired LEOs have no Second Amendment right to carry and therefore it can prohibit anyone from carrying outside the home. The State knows the charges will not stick under LEOSA, but its sending a message to all off-duty and retired LEOs to stay away or be inconvenienced by a night in jail. What the State’s prosecution wing has not done is speak with its civil defense wing, if it had it would know that having a policy of deliberate indifference to the civil rights of anyone can lead to big bucks from a jury. Nonetheless, until then the State is content with its position and is now targeting two retirees who carried on-call 24 x7 as arson investigators for over 15 years each. One was a policeman before becoming an arson investigator and the other a military policemen before becoming an arson investigator. These retired LEOs should be thanked for their service. They are not being targetted because of anything in their backgrounds, but because the State arbitrarily said carrying on-call as an active LEO for 15 years to investigate arson and environmental related crimes was not enough for a retire LEO permit. NJ argued that anyone who did not have "unlimited agency carry authority" and "broad general LE authority for all crimes" should be denied a retired LEO permit. When I informed the Court that this new standard would eliminate many Federal officers, corrections officers, etc... from retired permits in NJ, the State's deputy AG and County prosecutor did not care. The State reasserted its right to deny permits to any group. This attitude of arrogance in the face of the United States Constitution, however, may lead to the judicial abrogation of New Jersey’s Retired LEO Permit Program. We are expecting a decision soon. If the Court rules that the program violates the Equal Protection Clause by excluding “similarly situated” LEOs, there will be no permits for anyone until the program is fixed. The same may happen in MA, IL, and other states that arbitrarily deny permits to one group of qualified LEOs while giving them to other groups. Until I see that the NJSP and the AG's Office has acknowledged the improvements to HR 218, I will continue to carry ball ammo or Federal EFMJ when traveling to NJ. I don't feel like tying up thousands of dollars in legal fees to fight a charge that I know to be bogus but one that some knuckleheaded Trooper or local LEO didn't know dick about.
