  1. Thanks for all the good info.... I plan to someday retire in PA.
  2. Not sure where to purchase - still thinking about it. What are SBRs?
  3. Thanks for the info... I'm one of those guys that you mentioned who would like a picture with a Tommy Gun.
  4. I was looking at maybe purchasing a used 1927A1 Thompson semi auto. (Auto Ordinance Vintage 1979) Would anyone know if this is legal to own in New Jersey? Also, it looks like I cannot legally own any magazines for it as they only make 20s and up. Thanks, Bob
  5. I’ve attached some pics of the 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine. Not much history though, as I inherited from my Dad when he recently passed away. Don’t know how or where he got it. It looks like the sights and the Breech Block have been updated. Thanks for any additional info that anyone can provide.
  6. Hello, I have an 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine serial # 73742. The date of manufacture, according to a few lists, is Oct - Dec 1876. The list also shows that only 2 Carbines were manufactured that year. Could this be correct, and might this Carbine be rare? My link
  7. Hello, Were you able to obtain any additional info on M1 Carbines in NJ? Thanks, Bob D
  8. I recently purchased go,no-go,and field headspace guages for my M1 Garand. (30-06) As per the instructions, I removed the extractor & the ejector from the bolt. To measure headspace correctly, do I re-install the stripped bolt and manually close it on the gauges "without" the operating rod and spring installed; or should the entire gun be reassembled? Also, when the No-go and Field gauges are installed, where should I be looking to determine that the bolt is not fully closed? Thanks

    Air Soft Guns in NJ

I was looking at some of the Air Soft guns available, and was wondering if New Jersey had any crazy laws restricting these? Some have High Cap Mags and full automatic capability.
  10. I just picked up a Camo AR-15 flatop and was looking for a set of front and rear flip sights that would match the Camo. Would anyone know where I can find these?
  11. I have a friend who lives in the "Free" State of Pennsylvania. He'll be transporting some 30 Rd Mags, traveling to the Southern States, but cutting through NJ to get there. I informed him that if he gets caught with these Mags in Jersey, he will have a problem. He replied that he is a resident of a state that considers these mags legal, and NJ has no authority over him as he is just passing through. Can anyone tell me if he correct? Bob D.

    Model 1 Sales

I finally received my AR-15 kit from Model 1 Sales. The upper receiver and barrel assy. look to be OK. However, some of the lower receiver parts just did not fit well. The selector / safety and bolt catch did not work properly. I didn't want to machine them so I ordered those 2 items from another vendor, (Bushmaster), and now everything fits and works fine. I too would not order from Model 1 in the future. Bob D.

    Model 1 Sales

Has anyone ever ordered from Model 1 Sales? http://www.model1sales.com/item-detail.cfm?ID=UCO160&storeid=1ℑ=u16carpost.gif&CFID=57593121&CFTOKEN=95030148 I ordered an AR15 Upper assy. mid December 2009. When I checked on my order today, I was told 6 more weeks. Am I expecting to much? Bob D
  14. Just wondering if there were updates yet? Thanks, Bob D.
