  1. Count me in. But it is hard to find an good mfg. of these pins in the US. Most of the US shops order from Overseas.
  2. If you could, what choices would you add?
  3. http://www.armslist....local-sale-only Rossi .357 for sale FTF in NJ Did you miss my previous post?
  4. FYIOne just came up for sale http://www.armslist.com/posts/1132644/nj-rifles-for-sale--rossi-92----357-magnum-lever-action-rifle---stainless-steel-16----local-sale-only
  5. +1 in gving it to a reloader.Or you can turn it oveer to the police. What caliber is it? If 30-06 I know a reloader.
  6. Another +1 +1 and +1 for Chimney Rock Inn in Bridgewater if you're in the area. If you are farther out in the sticks Cafe Marias in Baptistown west of Flemington along route 12 makes a great pie.
  7. +1 for Lunker and Ray Ray on some excellent observations. A lot of lever actions need either action work or lots of break-in or both to make them smooth. Best thing is get one in your hands and try it. Pistol grip versus straght. Short versus Long Barrel. Different mfg. have a different throw on the lever. I would suggest starting off with a .22LR. to break yourself into the feel of a lever and if you want to stick with it. The ammo is out there. I just picked up a brick of std velocity for $29.99 a lot cheaper that any .38 or 357 per round even if you reload. A .22 rifle is not that big an investment and you can probably sell it for not too much of a loss when your find you perfect hangun/rifle match up. Of course there is a lot to be said for a rifle that goes bang instead of pop ! Or even BOOM! A couple of good forums to dig into and get more info from are: http://www.marlinowners.com/forum/ http://www.rimfirece...orums/index.php Best of luck and if you want to get a feel for a carbine henry in .22LR I can bring it to the next shoot at Clinton
  8. Got a .450 Marlin that will be set up a little like that when I am done. Not sure what everything is on that to rail. I am guessing the think on the front may be an offset flaslight ? OR am I crazy? Here is a pic of the .450 before. The other works in progress are: Marlin .44 Magnum and a .22 LR Henry Carbine
  9. Just picked up a brick of .22LR today for $29.99 at SR in Flemington. Amscor .40 gr lead. Standard Velocity. Never tried it before. Saw some reports that it was ok, but dirty. Others that said no dirty than any of the others. Will see how it works. They did not have much, so I would call first, and I believe thatthey limit the amount you can buy to spread it around. 174 Rte 31 Flemington, NJ 08822 (908) 788-5828
  10. Hey ogfarmer! Sorry for the late reply, I did not see this post earlier. Roland told be about it. I was up last night, but there was another balloon that launched with me, so hard to tell. DId get up to around 3,000 ft to see NYC and get some steerage down towards Flemington. It is actually no colder up at 3,000 ft than on the ground and you are moving with the wind, so no wind chill. It was an engagment flight and she said YES!
  11. Not yet. Will be checking it out at the range with the new moon clips I got from TK and will try without moonclips and let you know.
  12. Got mine from Bry@n and it was a pleasure to meet him Thanks a million for doing this!
  13. I should be all set to break in my shotgun and shoulder!
  14. While you are waiting........... Good time to catch up and do the basic fire-arms training/safety programs offered out there. Maybe even the hunters course. That way you might find new folks that might take you out shooting with their stuff. Hang in there..................
  15. Thanks Bry@n! Offered and done quickly which the way you need to move in the current market!
  16. Alternate Supplier (not on sale) I just found a site that uses the same emitter. And has the same capability of using CR123A or AA batteries http://shop.monsterflashlight.com/Cree-R5-LED-Tactical-Flashlights_c2.htm They offer two models, one single mode and one with the 3 way mode. They are a little more expensive about $6 or $10 more, but the company is based in NJ, which "might"mean better customer service. Either way I like both flashlights offered since they are single battery models. Most of what I have read shows the major problems occur with the non-recharable batteries when user mixes nearly spent batteries with new ones. I have seen some battery packs of 2 or 3 in a sleeve to prevent this happening. When you get into the rechargables, it is a whole other ball game, with protected batteries and chargers...... There are now a couple of lights out there where the system is so smart it allows you to run on 1,2,3, or 4 batteries.
  17. http://www.gearhog.com/?did=40014 $20 with $5 shipping for up too 5 units Runs on CR123's or AA. Just a rear click no pressure pad. (if you check out http://www.gunshack.com/, they have what I think is a better deal, but sold out)
