  1. The whole "common usage" is a red herring.  SD is another.

The 2nd is not about SD, its not about hunting, its not about common usage.  It is to make sure the people have and retain the capability to throw off an oppressive government.

Thats why it says "right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

Not "the right to keep and bear man portable arms in common usage shall not be infringed."

Remember when the USC was ratified, the most powerful arms in existence were cannons, which were often owned by individuals or groups of individuals.

I received a "candidate's questionnaire" from the NRA this afternoon.  This is what I submitted.  Does anybody have any questions?

3,13,16 are garbage questions.  But I guess answered as best as possible given the choices.

    3.  The right of the people to keep and bear shall not be infringed.  Only NJ can make regulations.  Does not follow.

    13. See #3, having to ask permission to exercise a right is unconstitutuonal

    16. Judicial discretion in sentencing someone exercising a constitutional right?  Yeah, no.

I think you may have missed on:

Iowa Class .50 caliber 16 Inch rifles have the ability, when combined with a well-trained crew and the state-of-the-art analog computer system they employ, to put 27 shells (3 full broadside salvo's) onto a target the size of a football field, from over 20 miles away, SIMULTANEOUSLY!  They can do this by altering the trajectory & thus the height of each fired salvo, and have ALL 3 SALVO'S HIT AT ONCE!

On the wall near the crew's mess was a huge photo of the Massachusetts firing a THIRD salvo from her .45 caliber

Also a great pic of the secondary magazine where sailors manually fed 5" .38 caliber rounds to the elevators to feed the twin 5' mounts.

Them there are some mighty short barrels ;)

The multiple round simultaneous impact missions are devestating.  There is no place to hide.  Everything in or near the target area is gone.  Witnessed testing on 4 M109a6 paladins firing 3 rnd mrsi.  12 rounds all landing within a few seconds.  Awesome.

Scale that up from 95lb shells to 1.5 ton shells and 2x as many.  There are no words.

takes quite a bit of time to reload

Not that much time.  Big problem is barrel life was around 300 rounds.

According to Jane's Fighting Ships (circa WW II), the muzzle velocity (MV) was up to 2800 fps with a 2100 pound shell and muzzle energy was 98,406 ft. tons. The rate of fire was about two rounds per minute.

To which I add, who gave the states these "Rights"

The 2a is spectacularly clear: SHALL NOT INFRINGE

PLEASE TRY TO CHANGE MY MIND......

    10th

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

    2nd

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Since the 2nd says Fed cannot infringe on the rights of the people to bear arms, and the 2nd having been held against the states,  means the States have no power to infringe on the right to bear arms either.

Something that can be licensed is not a right.  Reciprocity is an abortion of people's right.   National Constitutional Carry is what needs to be forced.
