  1. Lets not forget about hackers. We all know how safe computer resources are Once some hacks the registration database it a nice list that can be used to target homes to steal their firearms, especially in NJ since once you leave home you can rarely take them with you.
  2. When I went in they wanted the State Police fee (61 and change IIRC) when I turned the paperwork in. Fid (5) and Permits (2 Per) due when I picked them up.
  3. Greetings from Cranford. Most banks will perform notary services for free IF you have an account with them. The BOA in the Kenilworth A&P did it for me. I'm not sure about the fingerprints. I had mine done at Gun for Hire, they had some active LEO's come in on a Sunday to do the fingerprinting, took the pictures, did the notary and checked over the application to make sure I did not screw anything up. Was well worth the price.
  4. I have heard of a lot of stories where someone used handloaded ammo to defend themselves and were then grilled in court by persecuters. Does anyone have any actual case histories where this happened? The reason I ask is if this really is a problem, why do bullet manufacturers sell Hollow point bullets for handguns? Yes I know some people hunt with handguns but not enough to make it producing the bullets profitable. It seems like a really expensive option to load hps to shoot at paper.
  5. With the hit and miss ability of getting primers, does anyone have any actual data (fps, Psi, etc) substituting one primer for a different one? For example: 180 grn FMJ 40 6.7 gns HS6 Whats the difference in pressure/muzzle velocity if I use Winchester SP primers vs say CCI small pistol primers?
  6. I have a 226 in 40 and like it a lot. It is a big gun but is very accurate and there isn't a lot of felt recoil. As for accuracy, don't take a rental experience as a gun problem. I have also shot the Shore Shot 226 and it could really use some TLC.
  7. Don't do it!!!!!!! Its a very slippery slope. Allow in 1 set of earrings, next it the rings next the necklace in a box. Then you have to sell a gun to make more room for her stuff.
  8. Gun For Hire has a session where you basically just show up with the filled in paperwork, They take the pictures you need, do the fingerprinting and give it the once over to make sure everything that needs to be there is there. Minimal cost for one stop shopping.
  9. Yeah but it's the same old Sarco
  10. Why would you want to shoot a bull? Where would you put all that meat? Welcome
  11. This reminds me of an incident I witnessed ~15 years ago. While I was returning from Yuma Proving Grounds in Arizona a uniformed Army Captain was being detained and yelled at because the scanner detected explosive residue on his bag. While anyone with any knowledge of the YPG knows that one of the base's main functions is to test and evaluate military weapons and ammunition. The poor captain had been stationed at the Proving grounds for a month overseeing some of this testing and had residue from the tests on his laundry and bag. Nice to see that for doing the country a service you can get publiclly abused and maligned.
  12. Yes, That's what I used. Florida turn around is pretty quick, 5 weeks after submitting paperwork I had my ID card. Everyone should get one if for no other reason than its signed by Charles Bronson
  13. You can rent one at Shore Shot in Lakewood. I have the 40 SS Elite and like it a lot. Field stripping couldn't be easier. It takes less than a minute to break it down.
  14. East Stroudsberg PA Walmart $19 for 525 bulk pack
  15. Cranford Brought permits in a week early and was told they usually only do them a day or two in advance. But they did them anyway. Clerk typed in the info and I was on my way in a around 5 minutes.
  16. I heard a story like this situation. Lady from Conn. with a carry permit came down with her kids to Action Park. She forgot? to leave her carry piece at home. Some one saw the gun and called the police, and she was arrested. I think the prosecutor made a deal that there was no jail time for carry the gun, BUT there was something like $5000 dollar fine for each hollow point round she had in the gun. I think it was a 6 shoot revolver. Ouch.
  17. Wait till the curious young one borrows a round and brings it to school for show and tell. If you got kids, best to lock everything.
  18. Update. Now fully stocked with all types of primers Small Pistol,Large Pistol, Magnum Small rifle, Large Rifle
  19. I am look at getting a P229 for concealed carry, Yes it would be for out of state. Anyone have a preference between 9mm or 40 versions. I have other full size pistols in each caliber and am equally comfortable with either. Thanks

Use this forums get a quote. Vinny from Hunting World got 1 for me in just a couple of days at a very competitive price.
  21. I'm in the same boat as you. I live 2 short blocks from a school. So does this mean I have to get rid of my guns? I hate these knee jerk reaction laws. Just a thought as "any weapon" can be interpreted as a even a baseball bat. See viewtopic.php?f=19&t=4764&start=0&hilit=union+county+sheriff Can baseball no longer be played near a public place without someone getting arrested?
  22. Sayerville Sportsman has a pretty good selection of handguns and longuns
  23. That was the video I watched and I also got a Wolff 16lb spring. The screws on the grip panels were easy. Mine have a slotted top (regular screw driver) not a hex head (allen wrench). The Lanyard mount on my gun does not depress. I used a 2x4 as the thing to press against and the Lanyard mount sank ~1/8" into the 2x4 but the Lanyard did not move at all. I wondering if some of the 92FS's use a sliding pin and others use a pin that has to be hammered out. From the responses so far it looks like 2 were the slide out kind and 1 is a hammer out.
  24. I am looking to replace the mainspring on my 92FS with a D spring. Online videos I have seen show the pin holding the lanyard just pushes out when the lanyard is pressed against a hard surface. My problem is the pin that is supposed to slide looks like a roll pin and will have to be hammered out and maybe replaced with a new one. The gun is new. Was this a change in the design? Thanks
