  1. Zero. 1. Their isn't enough votes to override the vetoed sections of the bill. 2. The bill wouldn't even be considered for another vote since the "centerpiece" elements have been removed. Dead. Wrong. There won't be any lame duck legislators after the November election. Very little will change in the state unless the Governor Christie has some very long coattails. Besides, who would enact revenge? The same people that already voted once for the legislation? Governor Christie already said he didn't see the need to change the magazine capacity on firearms.
  2. You are incorrect. Temporary transfers for hunting and target shooting have not changed.
  3. Expect Christie to appoint his good friend Joe Kyrillos to the US Senate seat.
  4. The fact that any judge, legislator or gun-control activist believes that shooting a firearm is primarily an in-home activity validates either their stupidity or their unconstitutional views on freedom and liberty. Any denial of this fact by the judiciary; that the right to keep and bear arms inside and outside your home is an attempt to delay and discourage the law-abiding from legally exercising their God-given right of self defense.
  5. He can conditionally veto a bill. He can object to a certain section of the bill and add his own amendments. The legislature would have to re-vote on the changes and send it back to the governor.
  6. The Senate is split 24 - 16. Senator Sweeney only needs 21 votes to move a bill. Every Republican Senator can vote against the bill and 3 Democrat Senators voting "No" as well and the bill moves. Which Democrat besides Van Drew is going to vote "No"? I'm not so sure every Republican will vote against the bill.
  7. http://www.politickernj.com/63060/governor-will-not-attend-2nd-amendment-rally-friday Gov. Chris Christie has declined an invitation to speak at a Second Amendment rally scheduled for tomorrow in Trenton. Frank Fiamingo, the president of the New Jersey Second Amendment Society that is sponsoring the rally, said he was told by the administration the governor ‘sends his regrets. Fiamingo had invited the governor to speak at the rally and said the governor told him he would love to attend. Fiamingo said he then spoke to an administration scheduler who he said confirmed the governor’s attendance, “barring a last minute scheduling conflict.” A spokesman for the administration denied that Christie had ever confirmed his attendance, saying the governor gets hundreds of requests to speak and not all can be honored. “The governor is a very busy person and he has a lot on his plate,” Fiamingo said. “There could be something else that takes precedence.” Fiamingo said he was disappointed and added that the governor needs to make his stance on guns public. “I think it’s to his detriment not to be very clear where he stands,” Fiamingo said. "I think this hurts him on the national stage. What plays in New Jersey doesn't play in places like Montana and Wyoming and Texas. If the governor chooses not to sit with us and come to some compromise with regards to gun control measures and the right of the citizens to keep and bear arms we have no choice but to expose that to the rest of the nation."
  8. Doesn't seem like they forgot in Maryland. Over 4,000 attended a rally in Annapolis yesterday. One thousand signed up to testify. After 8 1/2 hours the Judiciary Committee pulled the plug. Some folks waited for 12 hours to speak only to be turned away. On Mdshooters.com, the thread regarding their rally and testimony had over 40,000 views and 1500 posts over a 24 hour period. The response I get from many New Jersey firearm owners is, " I paid my $35. I did my part." Pitchers and catchers report in a week. The Giants cut Bradshaw. How did the Knicks lose to the Wizards? "The people will suffer what is sufferable rather than to assume the burden of righting what is wrong."
  9. Untrue. Perhaps some schools stopped dodgeball as part of P.E. class but many middle and high schools host after school dodgeball tournaments as a fundraising event.
  10. The woman is Bonnie Watson Coleman. Don't expect legislators to know anything more about firearms except what they learn from the media and Bryan Miller. Her two sons have knowledge of firearms. Both did time for armed robbery.
  11. I listened from 11am to noon and every call was in favor of carrying a handgun for self-defense.
  12. Below is an old post of mine with some editing regarding the topic of population density. State "geography" is a worn out platitude used by the anti-gun crowd. You can take the above quote and insert the cities of Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Tampa and Atlanta, Georgia. Below is a post from awhile back regarding my opinion on population density. The South Florida metropolitan area is home to 5.4 million people and 11 million tourists a year with a area of 6,100 square miles. Florida gun laws are the model for many states to follow. The metropolitan area of Phoenix, Arizona contains 4.3 million people. Arizona has few gun laws. New Jersey has 8.7 million people that live in 8,700 square miles. Most of which live in the northeastern part of the state.
  13. AG Dow's response is so poorly written, with no teeth in her arguement, one can almost think she was told to "throw the fight".
