  1. So I am known to take on side hobbies quite often. Been picking up some of the old mini live steam engines. Got a Jensen model 60 and an early Mamod. Real fun to show while having beers in the garage. Would post some videos from YouTube if I could figure it out...
  2. Awesome! The sound is much more acceptable now. Seriously sounded like .22's firing out of there for a while. I may pick up a second air rifle and will look into that cross man storm xt.
  3. Not sure which Gen. I'll be sure to report back with a review.
  4. Even though it looks like you made a good choice, Be careful of some of those bunker hill type $40 boxes. If you hit the top left of the safe with your fist and turn the knob milliseconds after, it opens right up. Has to do with the weak springs they use to hold the bolt up. The Barksa looks like it uses the same mechanism. I showed this to some employees at Cabelas last month. Got a great reaction.
  5. So after about 5 shots, it's seems to have quieted down quite a bit. This normal?
  6. Thanks for the info. I think I got a pretty good deal on it. I'll post some pics this time next week. There's a fox hole somewhere on my property. Would like to get some videos of the mother running around.
  7. So I made an impulse purchase on a Night Owl Non5 nv5x night vision monocular. It's a discontinued model so I couldn't find much online but a few very good reviews on Amazon. I will be picking it up next week. I'm really not one to spend my money on something without thorough research, watching videos, reviews, price checks, etc. Buyers remorse? Hoping not. I'm going to be using it mostly for playing around on my property to see some of the wild life. Anybody have first hand experience?
  8. Just because you suggested two different models meant I had to chose from only those offered? I really appreciated all your feedback and took it all into consideration. I read each post thoroughly and had multiple tabs open to cross check all info. Also, just because something is expensive doesn't mean it's better. I'm sure you all can think of example. Thanks again.
  9. Because the reviews on your suggestions weren't as good as the purchase I made. I took all your suggested models into consideration. I made my choice from reviews on amazon, sporting and optic website reviews, other forums and YouTube unboxings and live reviews and comments. Although I appreciate your feedback on your suggestions, I didn't ask for your comments on my final purchase if you didn't agree with it. Calm yourselves.
  10. Well, I stepped away from Eotech. I did a extensive search purely by reviews and came across the Sightmark ultra Shot z series. It had near perfect reviews online. Also, the price of about $120 was nice, too. Although the reticle came in green only (zombie edition, c'mon now), it was praised for being crisp and held zero.
  11. Aww man. I was hoping it would. How about the random baggage checks? I thought these bags were segregated and monitored differently so they didn't get "lost".
  12. I'm a hotel General Manager. In NJ, the laws are gray when it comes to actual residency in a hotel. Some say on the 91st day, you are an actual resident but NJ dept of taxation and finance says its only for tax exemption and not domain status. Some liberal attorneys say otherwise and state after 90 days, when you become a full resident and stop paying, we need to go through an eviction process with the courts, same as an apartment. So then it would actually be your own domain and you could do what you want. Bottom line is its very tricky and NJ needs to come up with a straight answer on this. I know my local PD would not like the fact that you have a firearm in my hotel.
  13. Nope. This reminds me of a trick I heard. Buy a cheap starter pistol for $35 online. TSA recognizes them as firearms. Every time you travel, pack it and declare it. They will never lose your bag and it would be first off the plane when you go to baggage claim.
  14. Yup. No issues. I had about 1000 rounds and 3 bricks of primers. I called the airline ahead and they seemed uninterested. Just wrapped in a bag or kept in the manufacturers box, they said.
  15. I have a 750 pumpmaster. Nice a quiet and turns soup cans into Swiss but was looking for a rifle for the adults to play with. I enjoy the fact that this one has a one charge barrel.
  16. Just watched some YouTube comparisons. I found it interesting that the $60 Eotech clones are almost alike except the quality of the glass giving the clone a very slight blur. Anybody have first hand experience of the 552 or 557 "clones"?
  17. Just picked one up. 1450 fps. .177. Nice weight and very comfortable. I thought it would be silent. I was wrong. Sounds and feels just like a 22lr. Bought it for summer fun in the back yard. A little too loud. Anybody have suggestions on a quiet yet powerful full size air rifle?
  18. Awww snap! Anyway, I will take your advice ino consideration and read some more reviews, watch videos, etc.
  19. Yes! This show is awesome. I enjoyed how Pope cast bullets with alien metal.
  20. So I am looking at the Eotech 557 as my first real optic for my AR. Anybody have? Thoughts? I see all perfect ratings online for this model and figured I can't go wrong.
  21. They clean up real nice and run smoother in my progressive press.
  22. Sure do. I prefer nickel over brass in most cases.
  23. Yeah. My police chief here where I work suggested I attend this workshop. A little too far for me even though I hit up Carneys Point every once in a while to check up on my abandoned hotel off the highway.
  24. The gentleman wanted $75. I got him down to $35. I wore it on the way home because I lost my sunglasses.
  25. Yup. Gunbot is a good one, very simple and content is always accurate.
