  1. We might still be partying like it's 1999!
  2. Even smells like tequila when you fire it!
  3. There are a lot of bald faced lies and twisted facts in that document.
  4. If you're going to dispose of the HiPoint at one of the state-sponsored 'buybacks" I highly recommend you insist on a receipt from the police / AG's office rep there because otherwise, it will still be on the state's registration books as belonging to you. When the gun shows up at a crime scene sometime in the future, you'll at least have paperwork that you 'sold' it to the state.
  5. Food for thought from someone with similar living arrangements: Change the lockset on one of your closets from an interior non-locking one to a keyed entry lock. Voila, your locking gun cabinet. Self-install a SimpliSafe wireless alarm system in your apartment. Monitored by SimpliSafe who will communicate directly with your local police dispatch in the event of a break-in. Your landlord (and G-d knows who else) already has a key to your new apartment. The SimpiSafe system has a camera that will record (to the cloud) all entry activity. They also have a 'silent alarm' entry sensor that will be triggered when your gun closet is opened unless you specifically bypass it. Very reasonably priced. The system communicates with them via wifi and has a cellular backup. It's the best $36 a month I spend for peace of mind. And there are discount codes available in their ads on most conservative radio and tv stations. I can also do a referral to you. PM me if you want.
  6. Life is just one problem after another, isn't it??
  7. The anticipated reply from Fox News: "Dear Mr. 45Doll, We sincerely apologize for your reception problem. If we sent one of our buxom blonde newsreaders to your house to nuzzle up to you and speak softly directly into your ear, would that alleviate the problem? Thank you for your viewership. The Management of Fox News Channel."
  8. I'll take them for $260 PM incoming to you to make arrangements
  9. None required. It's nice to have your FID with you. It might save you a trip to the station. But not legally required to be carried on your person. COE and PPP copies are useless on the side of the road.
  10. FPM and the entire Dim legislature. Vote for Ed Farmer for Assembly if you live in his district. He will spur on a Conservative revolution here in the Glorious PRNJ. Go @EdF !!!
  11. FYI guys, USPS Flat Rate boxes (3 sizes) works great for spent brass shipping.
  12. On BearingArms.com: New Jersey County Offering Up To $250 Per Gun At Buyback By Tom Knighton | Oct 11, 2021 6:30 PM ET Share Tweet (AP Photo/Damian Dovarganes, File) Gun buybacks are a sore spot for many in the Second Amendment community, and for understandable reasons. After all, just the term suggests that these weapons were somehow the government’s property to begin with. Otherwise, how would they be buying them back? For another, it’s part of the misconception that guns in and of themselves somehow contribute to violent crime. Otherwise, why try and buy them back as a response to crime when anyone with half a brain knows the crooks won’t be selling their guns? Then there’s the fact that studies have shown they simply don’t work. That’s not stopping one New Jersey county from having one anyway. So, let’s unpack this for a moment. A maximum amount of $250 per firearm will be paid out, probably based on the weapon type, which means it’ll be a fraction of what the weapon is actually worth so far as retail value. That means you’re going to get two types of people. The first type will be those who someone ended up with firearms, probably because of a loved one dying, and don’t have a clue what to do with it. They probably buy into the crap about guns ending up in criminal hands so easily, so they’re not willing to take them to a gun store for sale out of fear they’ll end up in the “wrong” hands or something, so they’ll go to a buyback. The other group is comprised of the criminals who used the gun in some kind of crime and are desperate to get rid of it, preferably where the police can’t link it back to them. “No questions asked” is just perfect for them. Of course, some proponents of these buybacks will argue that by buying these guns from people who don’t want them, they reduce gun thefts. I find that a very interesting proposition. Especially since I haven’t seen a single study showing buybacks somehow reduce gun thefts. Take a look at the number of guns turned in at these events when compared to the population. It accounts for a tiny fraction of the people who likely own guns. Most don’t want to get rid of them. They want to keep them. Those are also the people whose guns get stolen. The claim that buybacks somehow reduce stolen firearms or even crime is laughable at best. The former is supposition at most and the latter has been debunked by studies. And yet, they keep having these. Why? Well, the answer is simple. It’s kabuki theater designed to make people feel like officials are doing something when they’re really not. It’s a way to claim they’re taking a problem seriously when they often don’t have a freaking clue what to do. That’s it. That’s why we still have buybacks despite there being no evidence that they work. Pretty sad, really.
  13. I bet they'd get more turn-ins if they labeled the event as an "Evidence Disposal Festival with Cash Prizes - No Questions Asked"
  14. We need some of that here in the Garbage State. I'm getting real tired of the same old answer to the question: "Who carries in Jersey?" "Jersey cops and the bad guys"
  15. Did you know that the "ugly" girl in that pig-face episode was played beautifully (literally) by Donna Douglas, Ellie May from the Beverly Hillbillies?
  16. I started wearing glasses in elementary school, hard contacts in high school, then soft lenses in the 70's. When I had cataract surgery in 2013, it was the very best thing I did for my vision in my entire life. I recommend you get your eyes surgically corrected before the apocalypse. No need for glasses except close-up, and only magnifiers then. You certainly don't want to be like Burgess Meredith in that first season episode of the Twilight Zone entitled 'All The Time In The World'.
  17. AND you're going to need a new D/L with your correct/matching address on it. A stickered D/L will NOT fly at most FFLs. Go online with NJ MVC and file for a replacement for lost/mutilated D/L. No personal visit to the agency necessary. They'll use your current picture.
  18. Tell me which part of this hobby is NOT getting more expensive or elusive!
  19. You must be a sexist (and a racist too as long as we're throwing around woke terms) if you assume it was a female (excuse me, birth person) who designed the meme and is speaking in it.
  20. A private sale will net you the most money, if you can find a local buyer. For that purpose, you should put up a Want to Sell (WTS) ad here on NJGF after becoming a Premium Member (even if it's only for 1 month at a time) Setting up a sale on Gunbroker incurs fees (both FFL and Gunbroker charges) that you would not incur with a private local sale. On the other hand, setting up an Gunbroker auction may, in fact, bring you more net money than a fixed price sale (private or Gunbroker) if you are selling a particularly desirable gun. Trading it in or selling it to a local FFL means you are selling it at wholesale, as the FFL needs to mark it up to resell it at retail. My humble opinion: Pay the Premium Member fee and put up a WTS ad here and keep it in our NJGF 'family'. If it fails to sell here, you can always choose from the alternatives I explained.
  21. Like I said about ultra conservative attorneys, Nappen falls into that category. When pressed, he will confirm it is not illegal, just not advised because a cop or a prosecutor may claim that a loaded magazine is a loaded firearm. To quote our local gestapo in https://njsp.org/firearms/firearms-faqs.shtml 6. How do you transport firearms? Firearms shall be carried unloaded and contained in a closed and fastened case, gunbox, securely tied package, or locked in the trunk of the automobile in which it is being transported. If the vehicle does not have a compartment separate from the passenger compartment, the firearm and or ammunition shall be in a locked container other than the vehicle's glove compartment or center console and kept farthest from the driver. As a precaution, ammunition shall be transported in a separate container and locked in the trunk of the automobile in which it is being transported. Ammunition magazines may remain loaded during transportation and shall be carried separate from the firearm.
  22. If you can access the cargo space from the passenger compartment, you should keep your loaded mags in a separate container from the firearm. Both should be out of reach of the occupants. Both should not be visible from outside the vehicle. Blankets are your friend.
  23. ... and these days, inked-up soyboys fondle avacados and wish they were as well endowed as the produce bins.
  24. IF YOU ARE TRAVELING WHOLLY WITHIN NJ: You can travel with loaded magazines even in the same case as your firearm as long as you are in a vehicle with a trunk and the firearm and ammunition are locked in the trunk. As long as the loaded magazine is not inserted in the otherwise empty firearm, you are good to go during Intrastate travel within NJ. For vehicles without trunks, and for Interstate travel, the answer will be different. Ultra conservative attorneys may tell you differently, but the law is the law. I am not a lawyer, but I have dated a few Holiday Inn managers.
