  1. Many of us competition high power shooters have a lead wedge (weighing about 3 pounds) in the "storage" compartment of the A2 buttstock on our AR Service Rifles. Some use molded half-round lead weights in the lower handguard to add front weight The ideal balance point is between the hole in the carry handle and the delta ring Not owning a Saiga, I don't know how this translates to that platform, but it works very well for competition ARs, which tend to weigh in at about 14 pounds
  2. Since you seem to be such a legal authority, please post your C.V. and the highlights of your legal career, with special attention to the firearms cases you have successfully argued in court.
  3. I wonder how an ND in the firehouse would play in the lamestream media?
  4. It's popularly known as "Plan B" and is practiced by many, here and on the other gun boards. As long as you've been issued a NJ FID, the objection by Zell, above, does not apply to LONG GUNS (which was the original question)
  5. Except in this top-down, bottom-up, inside-out world of today, it's actually bubbling up from the bottom of the cesspool. IMPEACH HOLDER
  6. Sorry, no .40 left Homeland Security has dibs on every round for the next 5 years! (just kidding - almost!)
  7. Much more of this to come imho To paraphrase Sir Winston Churchill, I believe we've passed the end of the beginning and are now at the beginning of the end.
  8. Why not? The guns are mine until they are transferred to someone else (either by my actions or by action of law) so I would hope that my next-of-kin would respect my wish to be buried with an XD45 and a couple of spare mags. Even zombies deserve a fighting chance, don't they?
  9. I believe PK90's 4-rivet metal mags are the droids you seek
  10. PK90 is well stocked in stripped lowers. Give him a shout.
  11. Fug that! I'm taking at least one of mine with me. Damned if I'm gonna be an UNARMED zombie!!
  12. Given that these are the 2 most anti-gun agencies of our current Federal government, this feels like a situation where the 'other hand' is doing something that will be much worse for gun owners. What are these lying bastahds up to??????
  13. Some of the comments following the article are classic, including:
  14. The XD45 series and XDM45-5.25 are all nice weapons. I have quite a few of them. As far as reloading goes, being able to produce 45acp at under $6/box sure beats paying $20+ if and when you can get it. Especially with the games Eric Holder and Cass Sunstein have in store for us.
  15. Given the facts that you're already comfortable with .45acp and we live in a one-gun-a-month state, my suggestion to the OP is that you start loading your own ASAP rather than opening another caliber in at least 30 days. With the difference in cost between factory .45s and components to reload (Remember, .45acp brass is forever - You load it till you lose it) you'll amortize the difference in only a few thousand rounds. A .22 is great as a first handgun in order to learn the necessary skills without the outrageous ammo costs, but you've already got a great weapon you're comfortable with. Now all you have to do is feed it while you master it! Good luck
  16. IMHO: first gun = .22lr lots of trigger time, very low ammo outlay Great for developing your marksmanship skills
  17. The gun is NJ legal. The >15 round mags, however, are not. Most NJ FFLs will take the easy (read assholish) way out and not bother with the gun rather than permanently limit the mag capacity to 15 or less prior to delivering the package to the buyer. Same with the XDM40, afaik (My son-in-law, a local LEO tried, but was refused as it was for personal purchase, not duty use)
  18. Is Cherry Hiil (Camden County) still requiring extraneous documents (spousal permission, resident listing) for PPP and FID? I will be attending a meeting next week at which the speaker is a CHPD officer on the topic of personal protection. Thanks!
  19. Powder Valley will mix primers and powder in one box for a single hazmat fee. A full box is either 6 eight pounders of powder or 10 five thousand cases of primers, or a combination thereof. They ship promptly and their prices are outstanding. Take it from a satisfied customer!
  20. 57 now Started shooting at 12 at camp Learned to field strip WWII 1911A1 at 13 (wasn't even supposed to know where it was!) Got first rifle at 16, first handgun at 21
  21. To answer the original question, have the out of state FFL ship the rifle with the A2 on it to your NJ FFL. Have him ship the extra adjustable stock directly to you. It's only a part, not a gun. All 100% legal
