  1. How long before they're soaked in lighter fluid and set ablaze??
  2. So, if I'm understanding this correctly, as a Member of a CMP member range that files its membership list with the State of NJ (Dept of Public Safety, Div of State Police, State Bureau of Investigation) as laid out in Title 2C:39-6f, I am exempt from the hollow point penalty? (The back of my Cumberland Riflemen photo ID Membership card / Range Permit (with current expiration date sticker affixed) specifically states that my membership complies with 2C:39-6f)
  3. Yes, nice place to shoot See you there, but not today Headed to Cumberland for the first Across the Course (XTC) HiPower Match this morning.
  4. Thanks, BRaptor for the pdf of the Appeals Court decision. As I read page 39 (the ruling on the hollow point charge) when you vacate your residence (after your lease expires or when you sell the property) you must leave behind all hollow point ammunition, thus making yourself a criminal if the new occupier of the property does not have a NJ FPID card or a Handgun Purchase Permit, OR become a criminal by taking them with you. Lose - lose. Sounds pretty fishy to me. This state is so fooked up, it's ridiculous. G-d help us all.
  5. And what would YOU do with almost half a million CASES of handgun ammo?? (Gives new meaning to the old expression "Duck and Cover", huh?)
  6. IMHO the Appellate Court could not reverse ALL of the convictions for fear of offending their fellow cogs in the State Machine. But they screwed up and overtuned the hi-cap mag conviction while letting the hollow point conviction stand. In the end, Nappen will have the HP conviction overturned.
  7. Read through this thread: http://njgunforums.c...__fromsearch__1 and then read the resources in the thread. That should help narrow your very wide set of questions. Then offer Lugerman a steak dinner in exchange for a reloading lesson and you'll be on your way!
  8. Biggest problem I've found reloading PMC brass is the off-center flash holes. That could certainly contribute to the low velocity and decreased accuracy.
  9. You can have just about all the 9x19 brass you want for $3/hundred f.o.b. my place (I also have .40 S&W for $4/hundred) I'm in Woodbury/West Deptford (Gloucester County) IM me if you're interested
  10. I know it's not Cherry Ridge, but Central Jersey opens its High Power schedule this coming Sunday Here's the link to their program http://www.centralje.../hp_matches.cfm Good luck to your son, OP
  11. Good cover story, but Eric the Ammocrook has not shipped to NJ addresses since long before the law that makes FID necessary for handgun ammo purchases.
  12. Feeding a S&W41 with crap ammo is a sin that should be punished by something akin to your crazy ex-girlfriend and her bff playing tug-of-war with your testicles. What POS range supplied you with Remington Golden 22LR for their rental 41?? The S&W41 is a TARGET pistol that was made to fire STANDARD VELOCITY ammo, not hi speed junk. If the range installed a heavier-than-factory recoil spring and/or a plastic recoil buffer in it, it would explain the erratic slide operation. Please tell us where you were so we can avoid the place.
  13. The split-rail fence at the driveway entrance and the miniature barn-mailbox across from the entrance are the signs that you have arrived.
  14. I pull a boresnake through each of my guns before I pack them up after a range session. That way, the crud doesn't accumulate.
  15. High primers (not set fully in the case's primer pocket) and thin primer cups (did I hear someone whisper Federal?) are the main culprits that cause AR slam fires. Most important when reloading .223 brass that after you prime, you stand the case on end (primer down) on a flat surface. It must not rock or wobble. Slam fires are Gene Stoner's way (from the grave) of reminding you about muzzle discipline!
  16. Better start saving up for mags for the .45 Storm They're dear! 8 rounds for about $38, and Beretta brand only. No more ProMag 9 rounders :-(
  17. So much for *that* shoplifter's recidivistic behaviors!
  18. +1 for Old School It was very nice meeting and doing business with you Let me know when you're ready to take the looooooong drive down and I'll guest you in at Cumberland so we can work the 600 yd line (thinking about it on my drive back to the office, a non-match day (weekday or non-F class Saturday) probably works best) Thanks again!!

    Hi-point 4595

I found that the Pachmayr slip-on rubber grip for the XD45 works great on the HiPoint's pistol grip to give a non-slip, very grippy surface. My 4595 came with a folding foregrip (which is kinda crappy) so get yourself a good one that fits your hand and locks open without any play in the hinge. With the reddot on the top rail, you can remove the front sight post (1 hex head screw) and put it away with the entire rear sight assembly, as they're no longer needed. Lay in a supply of mags for it and you're ready for those exploding 45acp zombies! Good luck!

  21. The Zinn family sold to the owner of Elmer Arms in 03-04 Went from a nice indoor range that had a little shop to a wannabe mega gunstore that rents hi-priced range time to anyone, and has negative personability among its staff When the hoodratz and their less than stellar behaviors became regular occurences, it was time to not go back
  22. When USASA availablity suffers (again?), check out SJSC New rule there: Floating membership dates Not on a "everyone expires 9/30" plan anymore Year starts anytime Orientation every other Sunday AM
  23. This is their plan Dissuade firearms ownership by all means I'm afraid we're sunk Just haven't gotten there yet.
  24. They're good people at Ed's. Ed the younger is now at the helm since Ed the older passed a couple of years ago. His mom Verna is still there, bless her soul. Stop in there sometime.
