  1. Accordingly, there are several ways that an average joe can find himself on this list without even knowing it. That is, until they decide to buy a car, get on a plane, go to the grocery store or get a credit card (to start with). 1. Search at Your Own Risk Compliments of the Patriot Act, several government agencies have the ability to track your internet search habits. Being that there are so many searches performed an hour, these agencies log keywords and look for combinations that they think are tied to you being a “terrorist.” For example, at risk search terms include “Anarchists Cookbook,” “bomb making,” “airport security,” and “homemade plastic.” The days of Googling keywords out of inane curiosity are over. Be careful what you search, how often you search it, and the combination of terms that you are searching. I think common sense will prevail, in that, if you THINK you shouldn’t be searching for something – it’s not worth it. 2. Last Minute Flights If you are a frequent traveler, you are better traveling in patterns. Meaning, if you travel a lot to San Fran for work or a girlfriend, you are set. Last minute flights, however, are a sure-fire red flag. You can look forward to getting the dreaded “SSSS” on your boarding pass, which every now and then, is nothing but a hindrance that will delay your sitting in the terminal for an hour while your flight is delayed anyway. It is important to note, patterns being what they are, after 12 – 15 instances you are officially red-flagged as a potential threat. At this point, you are dancing a fine line and should start planning your trips a little farther ahead of time because you will get a special security search tag every time you travel. 3. Don’t get Cute with names! People are into have multiple name, like Ann Marie Madison Smith and other cute WASP-y sounding names. Unfortunately having multiple names is not a traditionally “American” tradition, at least that is what the government thinks. It would appear that terrorists like Abdul Mohammad Ishmael Zacowie have ruined it for the rest of us. Having 2 first names or even worse, 2 first names and a middle as part of your “proper” name, increases your risk by a double digit percentage. The TWL system looks for multiple names and automatically raises a flag. Being cute-sy is not worth not it! Embrace being boring! 4. Email is not secure, don’t be a smartass! To think that you are too unimportant for someone to scan you email might have been true 10 years ago. Alas, those days are gone. Many smartasses, especially around Spring Break time, think it will be unique to email friends with messages like, “If the F*&KING plane gets delayed like last year, just yell BOMB or FIRE so we can all get off and drink…” Of course, on the level, any idiot with common sense will see it as frat banter. Unfortunately, the people overseeing are above average idiots and all they see on their screen is PLANE, BOMB, DELAYED, FIRE. Yeeeaaahhh…not pretty.
  2. So in his radio address today Sweeney through us under the bus. He thinks mandatory training and the fairly arbitrary "watch list" are perfectly reasonable. So lets create a back log of oh, a million or so NJ gun owners signing up for "training". It will take YEARS upon YEARS to get all the registered gun owners through training. How stupid. New Jersey Senate President, Stephen Sweeney said he is a supporter of the second amendment but some things need to be changed. “I can tell you we are going to be amending some them because some of them need to be amended,” said Sweeney. “I’ve always supported the second amendment. There are reasonable approaches when it comes to weapons and people that support guns aren’t crazy either.” Some of the bills that Sweeney feels confident about would be gun training and the one concerning the terrorist watch. “I know that the terrorist watch bill was controversial but it’s pretty hard to argue against someone on a terrorist watch getting a weapon,” said Sweeney.
  3. And more recently he said that Newtown changed everything. You guys get way way to hung up on what someone said a couple of years ago. People change their minds.
  4. The 10 round limit and internet ammo bans are going to pass and Christie is going to sign them. The rest I don't know about.
  5. Spotted this cruising the web if anyone is looking for a ar-15 http://www.firearmsalescompany.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=38_46&products_id=312
  6. It isn't so much as accomplishing a recall as sending a wake up call that there are a lot of people out there who are going to vote against them come election time.
  7. If he had a restraining order for domestic violence or something similar, he'll probably NEVER be allowed to own a gun in this state or many others. Long story short, he's going to probably need a lawyer to even stand a chance.
  8. Someone brought this up in another forum talking about NY. They don't have a recall option, but WE DO! It's a tough process but it is available. Even if unsuccessful, it could scare some of them straight if it gathers enough steam. Recall procedures Notice of intention A recall committee of at least three registered voters is needed to initiate recall proceedings. This process may not begin until 50 days before the completion of the incumbent's first year of the current term in office. The recall committee must notify the appropriate election official of the names and addresses of at least three members of the recall committee. The election official accepting the petition will then review the notice of intention for compliance with statutory provisions, calculate the cost of a special election, and notify committee members of the acceptance or rejection of the notice, within three business days. The election official also notifies the incumbent of the notice of intention of recall within five business and publishes a notice of the recall effort. Signature requirement Upon approval of the petition, the recall committee and other registered voters in the jurisdiction of the recall election will solicit the signatures of other registered voters in that jurisdiction. The recall effort is limited to 320 days for a Governor or 160 days for other elected officials from the date of the notice of intention. The petition requires the signatures of 25% of the registered voters in the jurisdiction, as of the last general election. Petition review The election official reviewing the petition will then certify the number of signatures and determine validity within 10 days. If the petition is accepted, the election official will schedule the recall election. Contact information New Jersey Division of Elections 44 South Clinton Avenue, 7th Floor P.O. 9. If you guys do a little research one of the big blow ups on the forums, started by ME, was that they don't do that anymore. They don't give a damn about membership, they MAKE MORE MONEY FROM WALK ONS. The ONLY thing you get from a membership is they don't charge you a range fee and slight discount on ammo, which was still $5+ per box more than I paid elsewhere. So ya, they do NOT prioritize members before walk-ons, and they will no longer hold handguns for members who are waiting for their permits more than a couple of weeks. They changed all of this quietly with no notice to SS members. That's why people got pissed off.
  10. Well, at least he gave you his phone number and promised to call you back. That's more than I've gotten out my reps.
  11. Real easy, all the online vendors will refuse to ship here like they do to the people in MA. They won't risk shipping here and getting the crap sued out of them by NJ.
  12. I betting he'll sign the No internet ammo sales, mental health related bills, and 10 round magazine limits. The rest has a good chance of veto. If he doesn't sign at least those, he's really hurting his chances at re-election in NJ. I'm really really really hoping I'm wrong and Christie grows a pair and rejects all of them. I guess I'm lucky that all my mags are 10 rounds.
  13. It really feels like they are trying to push people over the edge. "The tree of liberty needs to be refreshed from time to time"
  14. I'm betting they all pass except for one or two like the in home inspections.
  15. Isn't A3788 a good one. If what I'm reading is correct, that would prevent news outlets from publishing gun owner information.
  16. Actually with NY laws he might be better off keeping his guns in NJ. Never thought you'd hear that did ya?
  17. I've talked with Ira several times from Legend Firearms and he really seems like a stand up guy. He's close to where I work, so I'll be using him for Nic's from now on. Nickjc from Mastadon also seems like a good person. I was a royal pita to that poor guy back in December, and while he may never want to do business with me I'd certainly buy from them.
  18. Kind of points to how lopsided the news polls are though. They average 100 to 1000 people, all taken from their subscribers who usually lean left in the first place. 1,000,000 is a much better representation than 1000 don't you think?

  20. You seem to think the idiots in Trenton care how hard it is for you to buy a gun. They don't want you to have guns, period. They can't legally ban them outright, so they try to make it so frustrating that you don't bother.

  23. Well, the Senate democrats have their bill written and are going to put it up for after their 3 day retreat. It has assault weapons ban, mental health, magazine limits, and few other nick knacks. We'll see who votes for it, then have to make an effort to get rid of them next election. http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/02/07/us-usa-guns-democrats-idUSBRE9160YN20130207
