  1. Wife just got a new SUV, and the kids already managed to put a 1" long ding in the rear passenger door by opening it into a parked car next to us.... Anyone have a recommendation on one of those mobile dent repair places? Located in Hillsborough. Thanks!
  2. Yep, I dropped the original photo hosting provider. Adding the pics in the original post showing the rail wear that I was concerned with. The wear has not gotten any worse over the past 7 yrs and I've experienced no issues. The P228 is still going strong after all this time
  3. Yes, should the the same as the factory mags, just without the the Sig stamp on them. Mecgar makes the mags for Sig and other brands (CZ, S&W, etc).
  4. Prices have come down on these recently. If you look, you'll find the same prices as Glock/Beretta/CZ/other Sig mags: 10 round mags - $20 http://gregcotellc.com/cart/sig-sauer-magazines-c-123/sig-sauer-sig-pro-sp2009-sp2022-10-rd-9mm-mecgar-mgsp910b-p-1689.html https://gunmagwarehouse.com/sig-sauer-sp2022-9mm-10-round-magazine.html 15 round mags - $29 https://gunmagwarehouse.com/sig-sauer-sp2022-2340-2009-9mm-15-round-magazine.html
  5. The EAA Witness has a hammer and is DA/SA, so if you're looking for a striker fired gun, look elsewhere.
  6. I called about this shotgun today and was informed it was sold Hope at least someone on this forum took advantage of the price. Guy on the phone said it was in really nice shape and came with a bunch of chokes. Would've been a nice gun for anyone looking for a semi-auto shotgun.
  7. Check out the sticky post in the Handguns section of this forum: http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php/topic/27176-where-can-i-get-nj-compliant-15-round-mags-for-my/ There are several options for 15 rnd magazines for a CZ 75. As far as the Sig 320 Full Size, you're better off getting the compact since it has 15 rnd mags stock from Sig.
  8. Thanks everyone for sharing their ideas. I ended up going in, but left the kids at home with the grandparents - definitely a good move as the area for spectators really isn't setup for anything other than standing on the side of the street - no bathrooms or areas to warm up. For those interested, I ended up driving to Jersey City and somehow found on-street parking right across from the Grove St PATH station. Took the PATH up to 33rd St. Really wasn't that crowded on the way in the morning. The race was pretty cool to see with lots of International racers from all over the world and the energy of the crowd cheering them on is something you don't get from watching the event on TV. Also, seeing the NYPD in full force was pretty neat. I always like see the guys who carry the S&W 5946 (usually it's the older guys carrying them around). Wonder how they keep these fielded? I assume S&W still has a production line for the size of business it gets from agency purchases of it's 3rd gen autoloaders. The way back wasn't too bad either. Took the 1 train down from Columbus Circle to Christopher St and hopped on the PATH. Back at the car in JC in about 20 min. Toasted my buddies 4:20 finish (1st full marathon) at the Biergarten in JC before driving home. All in all a good day!
  9. I like this stuff: http://lubrikit.com/ The grease is a really nice weight all year around (I've shot outdoors last winter) and no odor. The fact that it's food safe is a nice plus as well.
  10. I'm planning to go into NYC tomorrow (Nov 2) to watch a friend run in the Marathon. Not looking forward to the crowds nor the traffic, but I want to be there to support him when he finishes. I've never been in the city during an event this size so right now, I'm trying to figure out the best way in. Travelling from Somerset County (Bridgewater area). Some options I'm thinking of: 1) Driving to Secaucus, park at the station and take NJ Transit in the rest of the way 2) Forget driving and take NJ Transit (train) from New Brunswick all the way to Penn Station 3) Drive to Jersey City or Weekhawken, park, and take ferry over I'm planning to take the family along as well (2 kids <5 yrs). Any advice? Thanks!

    CZ PCR WOW!

Both the PCR and P01 have aluminum frames and steel slides. Both are only available with decockers only.

    Sphinx

Seems like a more expensive, more handfit CZ 75 clone. With lack of aftermarket specifically for Sphinx, you'd probably be better off with buying one of the CZ models and having it tuned up by CZ Custom or Cajun Gun Works. You'll have a sweet pistol that will cost cheaper and be much more maintainable over the long run.
  13. Buy a used Ruger or S&W revolver - much better quality and for around the same price. I was able to pick up a nice S&W M28 .357 for $450 last year from an estate sale, that thing will outlast any of the revolvers you listed. Additionally, are you stuck on getting a .357? If it's only a range toy, a .38 special will do just fine punch paper and will be cheaper to purchase and cheaper to feed. J&G Sales has a bunch of pretty nice S&W 64 DAO revolvers (.38 spl, stainless, 4" barrels) for about $370.
  14. This was the same price back when CZ-USA sold the 15 round mags prior to "discontinuing" them. In the past they ran specials where it came to $24.99/mag - maybe they'll do so again. These are new manufacture mags, not NOS, in fact the only difference between the 15 rounders and the 16 rounders is the follower. The mag body/spring/base plate are identical, so it's not like Mec-Gar has to run a special line. I think with CO under the same restrictions as NJ, CZ-USA saw an increased market demand for 15 rounders. I know I emailed them in the past asking them to bring back the 15 rounders....
  15. Added link to new source for CZ 75B 15 round magazines (thanks to forum member Steve_G). Also updated the formatting a bit, hopefully it's easier to read.
  16. Very nice - now I can update our 15 round mag sticky with this new info! Thanks Steve_G, I added this to the following sticky thread: http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php/topic/27176-where-can-i-get-nj-compliant-15-round-mags-for-my/
  17. Interstate transport is covered by federal law, even when transporting thru NYS. As long as: a) you firearm is legal at its state or origin and its legal at its destination state and b) you keep the pistol unloaded and locked and separate from the ammo you'll be fine even if stopped in NYS. Once you're in CT you can carry if you posses a ccw so no worries about transportation laws up there.

    Xds 4.0 anyone!?

Glad you found one. For me, I wonder what role the XDs 4.0 fills? It's too large to be a pocket gun, like the 3.3 XDs is, with the longer barrel it's more of a midsize. For the weight and capacity you get with this gun, there are more capable midsize guns. The only real advantage I see is that it is a single stack.

    Sig M11-A1

Don't hold your breath on this one. When the NJSP retired their HK P7M8, before they went the route of the SW99 and eventually the Sig P228, the then AG decided to store these instead of selling out on the market. My bet that this time around, Anti NJ will not be open to providing us peons with the opportunity to purchase these fine pistols...
  20. Classic W German Sig P228. Fantastic trigger and great all around size. Large enough for a long range sessions and light enough to carry comfortably in OWB pancake holster. It's a tack driver!
  21. Has anyone had any experience with https://www.iammo.com ? They have a nice online selection of pre-owned firearms (most seem to be leo trade-ins). Interested in picking up one of their S&W 3rd gen pistols, but wanted to get some feedback before I send them my card info.
  22. I got one back in Nov on VZW - awesome phone. Probably the best smartphone I've had to date. It has some nice innovative features you just don't see elsewhere, even in iPhone. Some of my favorites: - Active Display (automatically flashes up the clock when it senses you so you don't even need to press a button to wake it up) - Google Now - works *much* better than Siri ever did on iphone - One of the first phones to get KitKat version of android (1st phone on VZW) - It's not filled with bloatware...pretty much a stock android experience with only a few VZW pre-loaded apps. On paper it looks dated because of some specs (i.e. dual core only vs quad core on other phone, 720 screen) but in real life it's a very well executed phone and I don't seem to miss any of those features.
  23. For all the CZ fanboys, updated the magazine matrix with the new 2014 CZ P-07 9mm model, which will be shipping with 15 round magazines! The new model is designated by model # 91086 and is replacing the original 16 round version that CZ put out.
  24. I got the Dewalt DCD771 from HD this year for Christmas. IMO, it's a great deal on a 20v drill/driver w/ 2 LiOn battery packs. It may not be as full featured as some of the Dewalt high-end models, but gets the odd job done around the house for me. http://thd.co/1ceeYZ9
