Im going through a similiar situation. Heres the funny thing. I just wanted an address change on my FID card and 3 new pistol permits. All of the sudden when I went I was being asked all kinds of questions. Was I arrested?? I wanted to say "HELLO AHOLE I ALREADY HAVE A FUCKING FID CARD!!!!" I think this state is trying to discourage any resident from having a gun.

DAMM !!! WHY THE FUCK WOULD THEY GIVE THEM UP LIKE THAT. SCREW THAT. THEY WILL HAVE TO LOCK ME UP BEFORE I GIVE THEM MY GUNS!! UNBELIEVEABLE!!!

A DP wouldnt stop you from getting and FID??? I heard a totally different from the officer taking my application about a month ago. He said any disorderly person offense will get you denied. Maybe its town to town but I wouldnt get my hopes up. The important thing is that you disclosed so you just have to wait and see.

You can use buckshot. You DONT have to have a rifled barrel if you want to use slugs. You can shoot "rifled slugs" or "forster type slugs" out of a smoothe barrel. I use cheap $4.99 per box of 5 Brenneke and they work fine. You can use the cheap Brenneke in smoothe or rifled barrels. If you are going to hunt..I wouldnt use buckshot. Definetely use a slug. You can get a better shot with a slug than with buckshot farther away.

You'll never get it. Even if you say you carry lots of cash on you for business. It's not a good enough excuse. A buddy of mine years ago applied, filled out all the forms and they denied it. He says he has to pick up cash from his accounts that pay him and he could have $20,000 on himself and sometimes more at any given time. They told him "ohh thats not enough cash for a permit." I wonder how much he would have to say to be "enough money."

I havent been following much politics lately. Not even NJ politics. Maybe I should but I am pretty much fed up with politicans the last few years but does anyone know where Christie stands on the Bear Hunt here in NJ? I dont have high hopes for this guy.

What was his last case about? Was it gun owner related? Im just curious. It is unbelievable how sometimes cops don't know the law they are supposed to enforce. It is a bit scary especially if you get pulled over and you have to tell them you have a gun in the car. I guess you better prove you are coming back from a range.

The rockwall in Rockaway NJ is completely gone. I am not sure why. Maybe just not enough people climbing. As far as someone running out of there with a gun its hard to believe. I am sure it coud be done but you gotta have big balls that clank to do something like that. The one in Rockaway NJ makes you put your driver's license and FID card on the glass counter before checking any firearm out. Besides its on the 2nd floor there. So the guy would have to run down the esclator and through the store and out the door. Im sure some crazy nut could pull it off but arent there cameras all over the Lodge area in that store?

I am all the way up in Bergen County NJ. That sounds like a reasonable place if they let you do that. let me know where that is. THanks!

I never shot at an indoor range. Just one question, can you pickup and keep the brass you just shot or do you have to leave it?

I put it for my permits 3 weeks ago and of course I am still waiting which I don't really mind. The only problem I'm seeing is that when I go to a gun shop looking for a gun that I want they are very low in stock or there is a wait on it. Especially anything 1911 which is one of the guns I want. Is it legal for a gunshop to "hold" a gun for me. Let's say I pay for it first and then when the permits come in then I can go and pick it up. I didnt bother asking because the place I went to seemed to say there was a long wait on Kimber and Taurus 1911's and he didnt know when he would get anymore in. He assumed a 6 month to 1 year wait. Its just ridiculous that NJ only gives you a permit for 90 days when you literally might run out of time waiting for the gun you want. Even with the extension it might cut it close.

I have never been to shore shot and I was just wondering if they have a good size inventory?? I live an hour away and want to check out this shop. I read a few reviews and read nothing but positive things.

Doesnt matter how old it is. It WILL come up. I would include it. It doesnt seem they can deny your for a simple charge like that anyway. I am telling you for a fact though..if you do lie on your form about it and play stupid they will deny you even if you got arrested for something stupid. There are times even when expunged charges have come up even though they were not supposed to and people were denied but if you show the paperwork that it was expunged then your fine.

Before you go for your FID it might be worth it to get it expunged. I know its a PITA but they might deny you and you are going to have to fight for it anyway.

Very nice guy at Lucianos. Small shop owned by an older guy but he can pretty order what you want. He had a bigger store years ago but I think he just downsized as he got older. As far as the silver bullet, I don't know how that guy stays in business. He seems like he doesn't want to deal with anyone.

I just applied for my first handgun permit. Also requested change of address on my card. I already have an fid card. ( for long guns ) my question is are they going to contact my references every single time I apply for another handgun permit??
