  1. I think we got a raw deal here... 22. South Carolina A permitless carry bill was introduced in the South Carolina Senate this year but it never advanced from its subcommittee. South Carolina gets 7 points in the CCW column, mainly due to its limited permit reciprocity. The state’s use-of-force laws are strong, which earn it maximum points. South Carolina also gets a full 10 points for its NFA and Black Rifle laws as it relies on federal statues alone. Like most of the south, the Palmetto State has a strong gun culture and places to shoot are many. (Previous ranking: 24) We got beat up for NO permitless carry? And the limited reciprocity thing should count either. To me this is Nirvana.
  2. As many of you know I live in SC. SC has some pretty strong Castle Doctrine laws. Now Anderson County/Greenville is pretty affluent. But, some developments are outside of town limits and other than the sheriff there is no local PD. Thus, with a 15 minute(just guessing) response time you had better take care of yourself. I'm in a rural area and the previous owner of my home did shoot a burglar that was robbing their shed. They did call the sheriff and were given a response time and told to "take care of it". God love America and South Carolina
  3. As an expatriate you should give me a shout. I belong to Palmetto Gun Club. It's the premier club and would be happy to guest you.
  4. Hey folks I'm kind of considering CWP Insurance a necessity. Does anyone else carry it? And....Why did you choose the company you insured with? OS
  5. My opinion is you have a die set up problem with too much crimp. I'll send you a pm with my phone number. 308Win. is one of the easiest cartridges to load for.
  6. I have a C39V2 that I have yet to fire. Any thoughts on this Century product? I've seen mixed reviews.
  7. Follow the money.... Why does NJ use a third party to source a NICS background check. Who owns the company and who makes money? Now the amount of NICS checks will increase dramatically.
  8. Thanks for your thoughtful response. You should take Bully up on his Loaner Rifle Opportunity. I've seen a woman win two classes In long distance to 800yds. Taking the State Championship.
  9. Certainly NOT that I would want Chris to be the subject of a NJ.com article. But...#1 I think your view is kind of paranoid and #2 without push back we're letting the firearms phobic win. And lastly, nowhere did the OP say anything about fashioning a gun stock. Congrats Brett Kavanaugh!
  10. As recently as 5 years ago West Milford HS had wood and auto shop. That's when I last taught there. Oh and Mrs.Peel - I hope your comment was tongue in cheek...
  11. PM sent to Nick- Not to muddy up this post...(Smokin'50 included on PM) Nick, I either misunderstand you or you are part of the problem. Again !!! I have a problem with the title not the concept...!!!
  12. "Diversity Shoot" Is a very bad title for this shoot. Diversity is killing this country. It should be the "Assimilation Shoot" Think about it !! I wish him all the luck with this shoot and fostering interest in firearms and history. It's just the title that burns my A$$
  13. Nick - Describe or send a pic of the staking on the gas key. I'm interested.
  14. I'm so pleased to see this kind of stuff. Hand work can provide some excellent results.
  15. Chris - All honesty, the rifle came out beautifully. Congrats! Now for a public announcement. Folks, Chis does have an open invitation to come down here and shoot the distance. Room and board included. And, he can even concealed carry here to protect that piece of art.
  16. I'd just like to comment on the concept of "Buying at local brick and mortar" I've priced online tires numerous times. The price savings after shipping, mounting, balance, disposal fees. is insignificant. Compounded by the fact that when I buy tires local I get free rotation for life and a free road hazard package. And... In many cases I'm getting an alignment too. Support your local brick and mortar or when you need them they may be gone. Nobody tries to save a buck more than I do. But this is the way I look at it.
  17. I load with a Rock Chucker and am pleased. The co-ax is excellent. But pricey. Now it's all about alignment. Most solid single stage presses are made to exacting standards. Never loose sight of one thing..."It's not the arrow, It's the Indian"
  18. Yep 22lr cans get very carboned and leaded. Have to try all kinds of stuff for cleaning. Techron works well on AR bolts but not the best for the cans.
  19. I keep Techron fuel injector cleaner in the gun room for dissolving carbon on my suppressor. Recently I used it for removing carbon build up on my AR bolt (it was a mess) It worked very well. Does anyone else use this?
  20. Uni-Throater is a hand reamer that allows you to precisely adjust the diameter and length of throat.
