  1. We all have the ones we let get away and the ones we sold off. I had three fully restored gto's a few years back. I sold them all off when money got tight. Then these new Muscle cars came along 420+ hp 27 mpg with air and nav. Who could resist. This is the the golden age of muscle cars. They are incredible machines. The fastest and safest ever made. If you ever thought about getting one I suggest doing it now. Who knows when some market force or regulation will come along and put an end to them much like gas prices and polution controls did oin the 70's
  2. still have the window stiker for my 87 LX 5.0 . Stickered at $13399.00 . Cost me 12,800 out the door. Including about 4 grand in options. Im not sure what the going price today is but I'm willing to bet it's several times a similar Taurus and options and condition. But that reflects a collectors market. We are talking newer car market. Two different animals IMHO
  3. Mustangs drop more in value then a regular sedan. It's a limited market. They fall like rocks. But I will say out of the US auto makers ford seems to be putting out the best cars. Not right up there with Honda or Subaru but they are knocking on the door. Chrysler is about the worst all around.
  4. Nappen says there was a gun amnesty in effect when the kid got popped on his appeal. The thing I find odd is they let him go that night but popped him when he came back to get his legally owned gun? Sounds like the cops thought it no big deal but some lefty prosecutor did. That would make for some amusing testimony. A double standard could apply if a case like ti was not prosecuted. I dont think the kid would have standed a chance at trial. Going all the way up to the state supreams NJ judges are hanging judges when it comes to 2A. Just look how they knocked Nappen off the docket with no comment after agreeing to hear his case. It's a rigged game for sure.
  5. Be ready. Mustangs drop like a rock in value. Which is why I like to take my time and buy used. This is my baby. A 2011 GT/CS fully loaded. Nav the works. Bought it in the fall of 2013 with 18K miles on it. Original sticker was 46 K .I bought it for 24K I'm older so a fan of retro cars so it worked for me. Though I dont race. I can tell you that most(not all) street racer types will not pull up to you even at a light. Shes a beast and most chargers already know the only thing they will see from a GT is taillights!
  6. Getting back to how much ammo. I think a few years worth is realistic. I dont want to be scrounging around looking for 223 or 22lr everytime I want to go the range. If you shoot allot then a few months supply I guess.
  7. I'm only a gun owner for about eight years. I was told by a long timer if you see ammo you need at a good price stock up. Thats what I did. 45 ACP was tough back then. When 9mm got tough I traded 45 for it. 22 was always tough but I just keep plugging away at it and I'll get enough. I bought my AR and all the ammo i need long before any of this nonsence.
  8. They will just keep banning if not challanged. Its a foot in the door just like so many other laws that are for "the public good" There is allot to be said for hoarders I guess. Things are not going to get better anytime soon. Congress lack guts as its constructed now.
  9. On a good note Natural gas prices are down. Could have went down even more except Obama killed the pipline deal to keep Warren Buffets trains bringing in the oil.
  10. Man I have to get out the range when the weather breaks. A few years ago I bought an AR on this forum with a 223 mounted on it. I have yet to shoot it. Never shot with a scope before so it will be a bit of a learning curve im sure.
  11. People should stock up on any ammo they might need. We are one Heartbeat away from losing our rights. I dont care if its BB"s that you need. Stock up!
  12. Reading these posts I wonder how many other good working people are bailing on NJ? I wonder what the big picture is? Is it a net outflow of people or are they being replaced. I moved here from NY. Long Island actually and hundreds of thousands moved with me being replaced by non working people. Whole towns on LI in which were nice when we lived are now swaths of higher crime and getting run down looking. Is the same thing happening here I wonder. I know in my fathers age group the same thing happened to the cities as working folks left. Is it happeneing again. Sorry for the off topic post.
  13. As someone who gets laid off at the end of every construction job I understand how you feel. Nothing worse then being ready and able with nothing to do. Just keep busy around the home while you are searching. America is going through another transition where we export tech jobs and import labor(cheap HB1 visa holders). It's going to take time before this cycle ends and things settle down. File for unemployment right away. It's your money so dont wait. Get active in protecting jobs like yours by contacting your congressman. You will be alarmed once you learn how our own Govt undermines American workers through tax deductions for moving jobs overseas and bringing in labor from other countries to do our jobs. Good luck and I hope you find that Killer job.
  14. Just checked again thinking I must be wrong because of the glowing endorsments on here. But I'm not. Netflix blows amazon away. I really feel cheated for $99 you get nothing.
  15. Calling for only 24 inches. My tiny 7hp honda laughs at that. The thing is a beast. Not looking foward to shoveling my deck off though.
  16. Read the headline thought maybe it was someone telling a joke.
  17. It seems im in the minority. I think Amazon prime stinks. Every movie you have to pay for and most of the shows I want to watch are not covered or pay as well.
  18. Just another of the many reasons NJ is and forever will be at the bottom of my lists of states. Try not paying support and see if the state takes years to settle with you. But they will string out a dads right to see his kid to no end. It's very hard to move on with your life when you have to constantly battle to see your kid. This poor kid what a mess.
  19. Now to get Around the 2% cap on taxes many local towns are reassessing, They are very innovative at getting more money out of us arent they.
  20. My tip which has been proven valuble to me is Subscribe to consumer reports. Use them as your bible when buying things for the house. My other tip would be to buy the best power equipment you can scag, redmax and if you take care of them you will never need another. Honda makes the best snowblowers in the world
  21. Heck you could buy 30 rounders all day long in PA. The guy I buy my ammo from in PA cheers when he sells 30 rounders to a NJ resident that is a PA home owner. He always rubs it in about how great it is to live in a free state.
  22. My ancestors were here durring the time of slaves and before that. They moved horse S*&%T for a living up in CT. We have fought in every war before desert storm. We have never taken one dime of welfare even when we could have qualified. I did steal though. Till my dad found out and kicked my butt so many times I was wearing it for a hat. Anyone that thinks they are owed anything from me or my ancestors I have one thing to say to you Come and take it
  23. I just bought a used 2014 Legacy. With 9 k on it. I now have 16k on it. It replaced an accord which was great but at 200k it was time for it to go. I bought it for the AWD. So far I like it. The tires are bad in the rain when dealing with puddles at HWY speed. the ride is just a touch jumpy. My mostly hwy milege is between 30 and 32 MPG @ 70+ MPH. The car feels the road good and feels solid with an excellent line of vision. It has great leg room. Merging onto the HWY can be an adventure when starting from a complete stop. Once at speed its nice though. The tranny is very smooth. Really the only knock I have on the car so far is dealing with the dealer when buying it. They have such a following(like a cult following) its really really hard to get them down in price. But I wanted the standard 100 k mile warrenty that comes with a certified used subaru so I just delt with the beating you get.lol I keep my cars till around 200k so I do my reasearch. They are #1 in crash test results have a great track record on repairs and there AWD system is tried and true.
  24. We all have a few that "got away" I passed on a 69 Z28 Camaro because I thought 20 grand for a mint numbers matching restored one was just to darn much money.lol But I have enjoyed many of the old muscle cars so no complaints. I now drive a 2011 Mustang GT convertible. It to me has it all. classic looks with modern performance.
