No its because we are #1 in population density. More homes per mile = more loans per mile = more foreclosures. What needed to happen was a huge dump of housing on the market over drpressing values and causing a lowering of the tax rate as well. But the government stepped in and backed the lenders allowing them to hold the houses and basicly prolonged the agony. And on the local tax issue the towns just changed the assesment rates to avoid lowering homeowner taxes. It will work itself out but only the best places to live will recover at first.

All those Liberals from CA moved there to avoid what they created in CA and now are ruining CO. FL is getting the same treatment from northeast Liberals and NC is turning Blue as well in areas.

Welcome another Oakland resident here. Just across 202 from you. Oakland has a very friendly PD they are as fast as can be in this state with permits. Buy the sig p226 classic in 22LR then buy the 9mm kit for it. You will save a couple of hundred doing it this way. It's a great gun. You can also buy a 40 cal kit for it. Shoots perfect in all cals breaks down easy to clean and can hold the NJ legal limit as well as more if you decide to move to a free state. Tons of add on's for it .Light rail etc.
