My wife read the paper today about the child playing with a gun and killing another child and is hell bent against guns in the house. What I did not do is tell her that my pistol is in transit as we speak. My daughter is 21 months old so I figured a locked case in a locked room would do till I did my research on a quality safe. Now my time table needs to speed up a bit.I would like to keep it in the bedroom closet on a wooden shelf. It is a target /home defence pistol. What do you guys recommend.

And on a happy note ICE has announced that starting January they are going to stop detaining people who claim political asylum. This is correct the department that was/is one of the biggest failure before or since 9-11 has now decided to let all who seek asylum go on the promise they will return for a hearing !!! Yes Oakland New Jersey. LOL I'm new here and to guns in general. I was around them as a kid before Nassau County Long Island went commie. Heck they used to teach rifle as a part of gym class. But got rid of it as soon as the WWII generation retired from teaching. But it's been at least 23 years since I've owned or used one. I just received all my paperwork to buy a pistol and want to buy a kimber stainless pro raptor. However I cant find one local so I need to do an FFL to FFL transfer. Does anyone know a dealer who charges a decent fee for this in Northern NJ. Thanks in advance for all your help Eddie

3 weeks(total) from getting the paperwork from the police to a 2 week wait for my prints to be taken. Only four days after the prints were taken to getting my permit here in Oakland. They also gave me info on ranges when I picked it up at the station. So in tree weeks I have it in my possesion.

I just received my permit yesterday. Exactly 5 days after getting prints done. The whole process did take about 14 working days from permit app to permit. Go online to find all locations that take the prints. For me it was in paramus.
