  1. Did you all not read my post? :p

Sorry.................must have missed the lawyer part............Early Alzheimer's onset or just plain ol ADDdash1.gif

You are by the way completely right about :

(this state has way more other issues outside of firearms that turn me off).

  2. Glad you have the correct information now.

I think your detective probably mixed up the First time FID+Permits+One Gun a Month and told you the procedure as if it was an absolute fact. :sarcastichand: .

Many of us put trust in authority on daily basis and count on their word.

I`m sure that they do not get many applications and probably have not paid attention to looking into the memo from NJSP or..................

they simplly want to limit ownership somehow in your nice town.

Kudos for admitting this and i`m sure you`ll find out a lot of information on the hobby here as i have.

Anyway.........best you can do to reward PK 90 is to consider him for your future purchase.:good:

  3. Well I am certainly not saying that I would be terminated by any means. But I would surely be looked at in a different light by some at

my place of employment. I just know what would be in their heads...."Hum, why does he need a gun?"

I also work in a total anti-gun place and when i applied for my PP`s the local detective called my workplace to confirm employment. This did not happen when i was getting the FID initially w/o PP`s

It was just a call to the receptionist , but when a detective calls you at work asking if you work there it`s a little awkward.

At my former workplace in South Europe attitudes changed greatly after rioters and looters thrashed the joint and everyone who could get their hands on a gun started packing.........Borrowed , bought , issued, granddad`s trophy P-38s......Browning 1910`s........you name it..........it all came out of the woodwork.

Anyway here is an interesting blog from Argentina about a change in society after a crisis , a very nice read.

  4. Hi,

As I have said, I have returned all my paperwork back to Robbinsville Twp Police last week and now I begin the wait. Im assuming my references

will be called for a phone interview? Does the State Police call them, or is it the responsibility of your town's police department?

    Thanks

Ask your references if a letter has come (most of the time).

My PP references usually get the letter in 2-3 days.

How did you do the fingerprinting by the way ?

  5. As soon as the NJ Legislature outlaws the Zombie Ants they will not dare step into NJ. For every ant there will be a permit from your local PD (not more than one a month).

The problem will be solved. Kinda like stopping access to guns to criminals.

  6. Actually, I really wish he redoes his cover letters and responds. I really do. By having him respond, it would show alot to me, instead of just deleting that. If he responds, I would hire him on the spot.

If he responds than the kid does have some sense in him.

If not he`s got a serious issue which will cause him more pain than his pride stung by your response.

  7. Thanks Pizza Bob,

Please understand I am a COMPLETE newcomer to guns, so I really have no idea about the forms you are asking for! I have not yet been to The Robbinsville

Twp Police for the paperwork, so perhaps I will be more knowledgeable to what you are asking for once I visit the police for the paperwork.

I have cycled all over NJ and PA and will be doing the 5 boro tour this May! I also enjoy seeking out new rail-trails to bike on in NJ and PA.

    Thanks

    Welcome,

Since you re going to the PD anyway pick up extra copies of the paperwork.

    Several things to consider:

    1. When you apply for your FID (permit to purchase). which is good to buy rifles and shotguns.......don`t forget to apply for several gun permits at the same time.

    2. Fingerprinting is probably outsourced to Sagem-Morpho (you have to call and wait for an appointment and this will add to the waiting time).

  8. Hi,

Best way to try guns is to come to a meetup and shoot as many guns as you can from other forum members.

I had a list and tried a lot of guns and ended up with none on the original list................best way is to go to a meeting (See the Events and Meetups section).

    Welcome to the forum.
