  1. I'm in Bridgeton, Cumberland Co. Sorry, no exit! I shoot at Quinton Sportmen's Club.
  2. I have a friend who is in the Federal prison system. Now I certainly am not the defacto gun expert, but it has been very clear to me when we're at the range that I take my shooting way more seriously than he does. It ads injury to insult when you realize that he can carry! I don't know every LEO out there to make a blanket statement, but many that I have known or met do not seem to take the firearms aspect of their job very seriously. It appears to be more of a status symbol than anything. It would be like a NASCAR driver not having their driver's license! You are putting yourself into harm's way AND have been given the tools and authority to defend yourself, yet you have to stop and think how to take apart your sidearm for cleaning?
  3. For the money, the Neos is my pick. The trigger gets better each time I shoot it and is surely more accurate than I am. The full optics rail on top is a plus too for adding a red dot. It is super simple to clean also. I had the Neos, a Buckmark, a S&W 22a and a Ruger all on the counter at Butch's in Vineland and really took my time with overall feel, trigger, disassembly, sights, you name it and the Neos won out. Price wasn't an issue as I was let loose with "the card"! I had three permits to burn, what a day! I ended up with a Neos, a Taurus Judge, and a XD40 Tactical.
  4. I thought they were being discontinued or something? Only foliage green ones were still available on the website.
  5. It would be a ride from Linden, but I belong to a club in Salem Co. called Quinton Sportsmens Club. It is outdoor only, open from 8am to dusk with ranges out to approx. 250-300 yds. Membership is only like $90 a year, no fees per hour and guests are allowed with you. They also offer sporting clays, trap and skeet. Target backers are provided and there are a few steel pieces also. You can bring other material to shoot as long as it can be set-up safely in front of the berm. That is as long as its reasonable, no tvs or bowling balls, but milk jugs with water, clay pigeons on end and your own reactive targets are welcome. As far as the matchsticks, I love to take empty shotgun shells and the larger caliber brass left behind and line them up on the top of the backers to plink with my .17 and .22s. They have a website if you were interested... www.quintonsportsmensclub.com/
  6. Hey Thirty Pack, I just noticed you were in Millville? I'm in Hopewell, just outside of Bridgeton. Where do you shoot? I'm a member at Quinten Sportsmen's Club. I have a Saiga in .223 with the factory skeleton stock, no other mods. I may look into trading over to a 7.62 version as I have a M&P15 for my .223 needs!
  7. I tripped into these looking for 10 rounders for my m&p15. They are 30's "lanced" to 15. The 10's I have have proven reliable and were the originals sent with my AR, so S&W must trust them! They also list 30's lanced to 10 for states worse than this! http://www.cproductsllc.com/shop/produc ... cts_id=160

    Pinning a stock

My MP15 has a roll pin in the solid area UNDER the tube. Drilling through the tube itself would interfere with the spring and buffer. It is only drilled on one side so it can't be pushed through. Also the bolt that attaches the adjustment handle is tight, there is no spring in it. I havn't tried to take it apart to actually see how it's put together. I believe it's long enough to engage one of the detents to act as a second "lock". This is how it came from the factory.
  9. Hey civictuner, was the aimpoint clone with magnifier a "Strikefire" by chance? They have gotten really good reviews considering their $150.00 avg. price. In their defense, they resemble an aimpoint but are not intended to be clones. Their controls are different locations and they have the option of red AND green dots. They are also NV compatible. Dave(?) Fortier did a favorable write-up in ShotgunNews a while back and I've read good reviews on other forums. They include a 2x magnifier that threads on the back and a high or low mount (high is for co-witness on ARs). I plan on putting one on my MP15FT as soon as I can get away with it!
  10. I'm new here so this may be known to you guys already, but Sportsmen's Guide is also ridiculously Anti-NJ. 90% of AR-15 parts are taboo, not to mention M1-C, M-14, etc., even shotgun parts are a no-no! They will sell most of their optics to us though.
  11. Hi Folks!, just tripped into your site during a search for Mortimer Shotguns. I have an abused example that I was looking for info on. I'm not really into blackpowder or collectibles at this point. I'm just digging around a bit. My interests are just about everything else. My favorite guns at the moment are a Springfield XD40 Tactical and a S&W MP15FT. I'm down in Cumberland Co. and shoot at Quinton Sportsmen's Club.
