The best place I've seen to pick up and look at scopes is Gander Mountain Stores. There are a couple in NY (Binghampton/Middletown) which are not too far away and another in Scranton PA. I think they are also superior to Cabella's when it comes to guns,scopes, hunting etc.

Time to buy more ammo and canned goods!

What did the course cost and what other courses do they have?

Over the last few months my ammo supply has been growing. I have been keeping it in the gun safe, but it now needs it's own real estate. I have a nice spot in my garage but wondered if the summer heat and humidity would make a difference. On the other hand, ammo used in Vietnam, Korea, Iraq etc. sure as hell wasn't kept in temp. controlled rooms! In any case, where are most of you ammo hoarders keeping your supplies?

What do the State Police due with the completed permit when they receive it ? In other words, is it simply filed, or is the serial numbers checked to see where the gun originated?

I'm good for any time between 10-12. I've never been there, so I guess the front door is a good place to meet. I always like LUNCH! I might bring some of my excess .45/.38 ammo to sell. Mike

I guess I'll throw a little gasoline on this fire......At the suggestion I would see a Mosin "at work" I watched the movie Enemies at the Gate. I did. Great movie . However, neither one of the two Snipers took a shot that was much farther than I could throw!

I'm basically a handgun guy, but I appreciate a nice rifle. What's the big deal about a Mosin?
