  1. Nice, I am getting the itch myself. I just saw the Para-Ordnance P18 9mm in Hitman and had me itching for a nice silver 1911.

honestly I seem to have a lot of probs with the para's and tell my customers prehand. not that they dont make up on it (usually just needs better polishing on the feed ramp). but I did have one sent back 5 times fixed all 5 but still doesnt work. figure that one out. if you get a good one hell of a gun and not too many 1911 frames in 9mm so pickings are slim.

something with 9mm in a 1911 frame.. just never wants to work correct. anyone else ever have failure to feed or eject issues ( and not limp wristing) with 1911 framed 9's?

  2. Here is my experience. Just started shooting about 2 month's ago. My son {13} and I first went to Sure Shot. Rented a gun and 2 boxes of ammo. Found out that non member prices are rather high. Went back the next week with a membership app, and couldn't join because of I don't have a FID card. Bummer. Here in Toms River, that could be a 2-3 month wait...

The following week we went to BA. Nice new facility with great ventilation. No FID card needed to join. :p We joined on the spot. Not as good a selection of rental guns as SS, but I will be purchasing when I get my permits anyway. Staff at BA is very friendly considering were new to the sport. BTW, I am also new to this forum.

never needed a fid to join. we are also getting a bunch of new rental guns in within the next couple weeks. including the most desired of them all the DESERT EAGLE. which is a pos if you ask me but what does my opinion mean? had to send these back more then any other firearm and is the reason we originally took it off the board years ago. I guess if you dont put 100000 rounds through it, it will work fine for life. but we use and abuse them down here.

  3. AFAIK, Frank (Silver Bullet) has been converting the mags to compliance with the blessing of NJSP. He may be the only one doing that.

All it takes is a phone call.

answers that question. its still be such a grey area. as we get 5 different answers on the same questions.

Like with every other gun law in this state.

so like us.. its better to be safe then sorry its just not worth it with how the laws are

before corzine we could block a mag no problem until they sent out a letter saying from the attorney general we could no longer do it had to be manufactured that was how they were going to interrupt the law.

  4. off topic but a couple years back I believe at a state range in the mid-west a marine's semi fire bushmaster shot off two rounds and he was arrested for having a class III. dont remember how it actually turned out. if I have time for you when I get into work Ill post it.

  5. problem with this it's so hard to tell which are blocked. So many mags look hi-cap and so many look like a regular 10 or 15. Like mention above this is usually an add on crime. point in case why sacrifice your gun rights for a couple extra rounds by mags and connecter atleast your get 20 :D

  6. Also, I believe all you need at Shore Shot to rent and shoot is a Driver's License and they too will let you buy whatever you want and will hold it in the safe until your permits come in. The upside is that you can shoot it while waiting for the permitand you can even have them clean it for you when you are done shooting for a small fee. thumb.gif

Did not know this part :-D

    +1, TJ is awesome

We only do this is if you have a FID now. We do help anyone with questions regardless if they are buying. Also enjoy teaching people about the guns. Stop down after your meetup and check out some things. I'd answer some questions for you but I am off this sunday, talk to Dan. Any questions you can call. Im sure you'll learn plenty from these guys those. Finding something is key with how hard it is to get stuff. Gun broker is where we send must customers when we cant get something and just help with the transfer. Goodluck!

  8. As fas as I know they all come with Hi Cap Mags. Unless you get 10 or 15's from the FACTORY then they are not legal in NJ. We wont touch them in our shop until they produce a legal mag. For our customers safety and ours. I know its a Pain in the butt but o well in NJ your always better safe then sorry. Because in New Jersey you will be real sorry.

  9. This is just another example on how you can not rely on your local PD for information regarding laws. I had a customer who was told by the sheriff he was able to drive with loaded magazines. A big no no! Do not trust your local PD for information. Sometimes they will just say something so they dont look like they do not know. One gun a month is real and as I understand it a felony.
