  1. I'd like to try it someday. I don't have a holster or enough mags yet. I may stop by the next Wed practice to check it out.
  2. Dave...you already have a huge advantage. That Walker must leave holes three times the size of modern weapons, not to mention the charring along the edges
  3. I bought this from a hardware store in Lambertville. Gasoline/NG/propane. It's 8000kw on gasoline and 6500kw on NG. I installed an Interlock on my main panel. I tested it by before the storms this season and was able to power EVERY circuit. That includes my forced hot air furnace, fridge, lights on three floors, and outlets. I didn't power on the microwave but you get the point. That was running on gasoline as I haven't ran the NG line yet.
  4. Rental Center USA in Hampton has one. I rented it to do the same thing you're looking to do. Brought it home, loaded it up, thought about how much damage and injury I could potentially cause, unloaded it, returned it, made a ramp with plywood, had four off us work with straps ease it downstairs onto an appliance dolly. My safe is about 650lbs.
  5. Sportsman Rendezvous had CCI SV bricks a couple of months ago selling them for $50. As much as I need it, I walked. Jim Flynn sells them for $35 when he gets them.
  6. They still don't have CCI SV which is what I need! They only had Remington 22 when I stopped by Wed. I might as well have a single shot pistol if I use Remmy as it jams every other round anyway
  7. Did you get the press online or through a local vendor? I think there's a sticky somewhere that mentions a discount for forum members. Although, from everything I read people are buying from either Brian Enjoys, Graff, or direct from Dillon. I've been looking for a used 550 but they hold their value so much there are no bargains to be had.
  8. My O/U is 9.5 lbs...I think you'll be fine.
  9. I was just in Heritage Guild in Branchburg and they had a few. Don't know if they are replicas, originals, or whatever. Give them a call.
  10. The following is strictly how I feel about the various disciplines. Don't beat me up, especially you Trap guys :-) They are all extremely great and fun sports especially if you get into competition shooting. They all have classes/levels and handicapping to even the field while you're moving up. That said... Trap= good to learn basics. Gets real boring, real fast. If you DO decide to compete, unless you are shooting perfect scores...you can't compete. Skeet= teaches you about the importance of the basics, and how to lead a bird at various angles. Angles, birds, speed, never change. Good fun but again, gets boring as you progress unless you decide to compete. If you DO decide to compete, unless you are shooting perfect scores...you can't compete. Sporting Clays = different angles, different size birds, different speeds, a nice walk in the woods. Much more interesting and if you hunt, it adds a bit of realism to your clay target sport. FITASC =kind of like Sporting Clays on steroids. Low gun only, stricter rules. It's awesome, and can be very difficult. If casual is what your after I'd say shoot SC if possible. Most facilities have beginner to advanced courses and usually less squad pressure than trap/skeet. Any gun is fine as long as it fits you properly. Like many have said, try out as many as you can before you commit. Clay shooters in general are really good people and if you ask, they will gladly let you try their guns. Places like Lehigh Valley have nice rental guns but also have demo days where manufactures display their guns and usually let you shoot them. If you do get into it, it becomes monumentally expensive. But you already know that if you shoot anything these days. Back in the day, I used to shoot the local NJ competitive skeet circuit, shooting all four gauges. I had four MEC machines reloading thousands of rounds per month. Then my son was born... HTH
  11. If your children want to shoot pistol, Ray & Mary run a great program that is very inexpensive. Children always shoot for free at their matches regardless at what range it may be. They hold regular practices and charge a nominal fee of $5.00 per session which includes ammo and targets($2.00 targets only). They also provide the guns to use if you don't have one. I think they hold practice at SCFGPA, OBRPC, and central. Two of the nicest people in the sport who give a LOT of time. Check out Mary's website for more info ...NJPistol.com. Sorry for thread hijack.
  12. We need something longer than 300 in NJ. Cumberland doesn't count as its further than New Holland
  13. Sako TRG-22 No upgrades Krylon Paint job(previous owner-LEO duty rifle)

  15. I saw Motorhead at the Capital Theater on their Iron Fist tour. I was 10th row dead center. After Fast Eddie hit the first chord, and my hair(farewell old friend) blew back, I was in heaven. I'm pretty sure that show was the cause of my Tinnitus :-D
  16. I was gonna bite but then figured...$100 rifle, $18 shipping, $46 for NICS/FFL fees, totals $164. I can probably get one face to face cheaper or same price, and get to see it or even shoot it first.
  17. Don't confuse these with the high quality Zeiss optics you remember from back in the day...they are not the same.
  18. IRIS from Lowes also supports these and other devices. I have the basic security package and it works well.
  19. I've got two of the front loading units. As someone mentioned above, they are great as lock boxes. I would not keep anything you didn't want stolen in them as they seem pretty flimsy. So far they are very reliable in regard to reading the finger prints, and the battery lasts forever.
  20. If it's .22 only, it shouldn't be called a rimfire match...just sayin ;-) Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 4
