  1. Defiance and Valkyrie were both mediocre. Defiance was better.
  2. Not really sure if I was "chest beating", just merely pointing out that we should not make assumptions about other forum members ability or inability to handle themselves under various circumstances. I have personally been robbed at knife-point, robbed by 2 people without a weapon, had a gun held to my head, and stood my own against 2 muggers, with a host of various other minor incidents throughout my years living in NYC. I did not get injured in any of the situations I mentioned, and I am not looking for any kind of fight, especially a knife fight. These experiences and how I handle them are just a product of my environment. So for me to carry a knife does not mean I am looking to use it or that I am proficient in its use. I am just adding it to my arsenal as another tool towards the means of getting out of a bad situation unharmed.
  3. This white boy grew up in the Bronx and Brooklyn and is a product of the NYC public school system. I think I have a fighting chance
  4. Don't commit a crime and no one will ask about your lawful purpose.
  5. I've lived in NYC for most of my life, while growing up our understanding was that a folding knife had to be 4 inches or less to be legal to carry. This goes way back. I carried a buck knife when I was a kid, and later on a 2.5 inch Spyderco. I was never picked up carrying either.
  6. yes, it could be a while... sigh
  7. If your wife is cooperative and you get a lawyer I believe you will be acquitted with no problems concerning gun ownership.
  8. I think you mean, "will the current recession lead to a depression"?
  9. A quick question. I assume that I can shoot hollow points at the range. Am I correct?
  10. I got it at Amazon with free shipping. It works very well and was easy to install. I shot a hundred rounds today and the gun is great. It was quite accurate in double action. I did not even bother shooting in single action. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EB ... ss_product
  11. Rick, The fiber optic sight install was simple, I'm pretty sure you will like it.
  12. It does not look good for me as far as making the meet-up tonight, but on a side note I did make a new friend today. I call her "The Beast".
  13. Imperial, I'm working on the same project with my wife. I got her from spouting anti-gun rhetoric, to dry-firing my 226. Next step, a trip to the range. I have been wanting to get a revolver, so as to have one auto and one revolver, but for some strange reason 45's keep talking to me. All of these fine 45's are getting me confused, from the 1911's, Glock 21, Springfield XD (which I'm pretty sure I shot last night, that was your gun, right Ray?). They somehow make me believe I am a better shot than I am and I love the feel of them, decisions, decisions..... I did like the Ruger GP-100's I shot last night, especially with the 357 rounds, it was accurate as hell (thank you guys!). Oh well, we'll see. Does anyone have a SIG 220?
  14. I'll be bringing my SIG 226 with a 22 barrel. I'm looking forward to seeing the Ruger GP100 and S&W 686's.
  15. I think if we look back in history, the only comparison of the salaries of corporate leaders, is with the monarchs and emperors of ancient times. Sort of makes you wonder.
  16. They could never become as powerful as the corporations, who are already running all branches of government.
  17. I was searching for pricing on bullets, primers, and powder, and it seems that the cost is more than I expected. How much do you guys save by reloading?
  18. I'm leaning towards the Ruger. I dry fired one at the Bullet Hole and the trigger felt fine. Hopefully I can make it on Tuesday.
  19. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/index.php
  20. I definitely do not like the lock now that I know more about it. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to make it to the meet next week. If anyone with a GP100 is going to be at Bullet Hole during the mornings or early afternoons please let me know.
  21. I really want to buy new because of my inexperience. If the Rugers are as good or better than S&W's then I would rather use the money saved on ammo. I still would need to shoot a Ruger before I made any decision. The 686 I've shot a few times with 38 ammo, and I really liked it.
  22. I did not know that anyone at the meet-up owned a Ruger. It seems that every gun imaginables is covered at the BA meet-ups. If I can make the next meet, I will definitely take you up on your offer lrizzo. What is up with the locks on the newer 686's? Have they actually locked up many pistols? It seems that the gunshops do not stock Rugers as much as S&W's. Does anyone know where Ruger revolvers are being sold?
