  1. Please pass the word about the NJ2AS!! We have had many other towns also drop their requirements to the 2 forms required by the law. We are not done yet either!!

  5. We had to hire a couple of union guys on one project. One was a generator operator. Guess what he did all day? Started and stopped the generator. Where i could easily have had a laborer do that job and help with everything else that needs to be done. To me, that was a waste of manpower. But, our hands are tied sometimes.
  6. Shawn I really have nothing against the unions. We hire union guys when we need to. Just for an example of why people do not want to build union. I just bid a job. (this is without the actual buildings, as we do all the site-work up until the building work) My price for non union labor was $12,235,000 Union labor was $14,786,000 Now if i am an owner, i would want an extra $2,000,000 dollars in my pocket. We are a non union shop and have built sites all over the state. Never an issue with the work. I only say that because a lot of union guys say you dont get the same product. I agree with what the unions stand for, but at what point is it too much???
  7. I was at a pre bid meeting for that sayerville site and Bass Pro Shops as of now, is a tenant. Tenants change all the time until the building is actually completed. Anything can happen, but keep your fingers crossed!!!
  8. What if they did something like this when your small child had been abducted, and were successful in finding them? Would you feel the same?
  9. I can vouch the SJSC is an unbelievable range with GREAT people running it. 260.00 a year for their range is a bargain!!!
  10. We must be the same age. I went in in 94
  11. Congrats brother. I graduated platoon 1189 in August of 94! MRP sucks but glad to see you got through it. Depending on how far along you get hurt, it can kill your motivation to not be graduating with your platoon! ' Semper Fi
  12. I have the Beretta 90-TWO. Its the newer model and although i love the look of the classic 92, i love this one even more!!!
  13. looks interesting. I just watched the clip on the discovery site. If they are living like the old days, how come i see a hot water heater in the background when they guy is being interviewed next to the wood stove?
  14. http://nj2as.com/SSforum?mode=MessageList&eid=842002 This has more to with additional forms but the way to handle the time frame is the same. While you are at it, if you are not a member already, please think about joining the NJ2AS!!!
  15. Contact the CHief of Police and politely express your concerns. Let him know if it is not taken care of, your next meeting will be with the Mayor, and then your Senator. We cannot let these Townships keep making their own rules up. If someone is out, somebody better be filling in for them!
  16. Jimmy hit the nail on the head. I grew up camping at otter lake, oak creek, spring gulch, hell all of them. By far the best was otter lake!!!
  17. Good to hear. An email to the Chief may be in order thanking him for doing the right thing. I think we will start seeing this more and more as people start to stand up for themselves. It cannot hurt to ask for a meeting with the Chief armed with the same information you brought to any town that is doing this. I believe the Police are on our side, but over the years, different leaders have added whatever they wanted and they have stuck!

  19. http://blog.nj.com/njv_paul_mulshine/2011/12/post_157.html I wrote recently of how the state of New Jersey refuses to follow its own law that mandates that purchase permits for guns be issued within 30 days if there is no good cause to deny them. That statute also strictly limits the conditions a municipality may require. Egg Harbor Township was one of many that requires extra forms and imposes conditions outside the law. But when the Second Amendment Society brought this to their attention, the township officials showed a rare example of common sense. They reconsidered and decided to follow the law. Anything can happen. Perhaps soon even Chris Christie will see the light. Below is the NJ2AS press release from Frank Fiamingo. Frank tells me lots of other towns are still violating the law and the Christie administration is permitting them to do so. The New Jersey Second Amendment Society (NJ2AS) has recorded its first substantial victory in Operation Establish Compliance (our ongoing effort to force Municipal Police Departments to issue firearms permits in accordance with law) with the reversal of Egg Harbor Township’s policy of requiring the signing of an unlimited release of information and liability waiver as a condition of processing firearms permit applications. NJ2AS was only days away from filing a lawsuit challenging the additional form when Drew Parker, who serves on the Egg Harbor Township Zoning Board and is a member of NJ2AS, brought the issue to the attention of the Township Committee. The Committee immediately conducted a thorough investigation, led by Joe Cafero, ultimately concluding that the form was in use, and was, in fact, an illegal additional requirement. The Committee then acted quickly to stop the use of the form. "The NJ2AS Board and Staff and all of our members applaud the actions of the Egg Harbor Township’s Township Committee and the cooperation of their Chief of Police. We are grateful that they did the right thing, and in doing so, have avoided a costly lawsuit for both parties. It is encouraging to see such effective and responsible leadership at the local level." said Frank Fiamingo, President and co-founder of NJ2AS. "That's the whole point of having a Second Amendment Society. So we can work together to resolve problems." NJ2AS has now shifted focus to another town with similar requirements. Frank Fiamingo went on to say "Our current, ongoing lawsuit, NJ2AS v. NJSP, seeking access to the NJSP Firearms Applicant Investigation Guide, has shown that we are willing to go to the mat. We will do whatever it takes to eliminate these illegal practices. As usual, we will provide updates to our efforts in Operation Establish Compliance as soon as they become available. Anyone can sign up for our free email alert system at NJ2AS.com." The New Jersey Second Amendment Society is the most relevant pro-gun-owner organization in New Jersey with thousands of members and supporters throughout the State, emphasizing education of the community and legislature, safety and skills training and properly distinguishing between criminals and the law-abiding in legislation and administrative practices.
