  1. It gets better, I promise. BTW I forgot that we can't reload on the move anymore behind cover... Stupid...
  2. Wow, didn't realize the lot of you guys were going to be there... guess I need to rethink my participation

  4. Agreed, 100%. When I was semi-regularly shooting a mix of steel, USPSA, and IDPA, my shooting improved exponentially with every match, and I even won some money. Unfortunately weekends have become virtually impossible for me to have free since my son was born, but I will get back into it when I can. For now I'm curious what people can come up with for those quick, hour long trips to the range between other responsibilities.
  5. Let's talk about what we can do in our own time at a more restrictive range, not unlike where the vast majority of shooters find themselves. Clearly there's no replacement for actual training on a dynamic, 3-dimensional range, but the fact is most shooters spend far more time standing at a fixed firing line and shooting at a piece of paper. What drills do you perform in this setting to maximize the benefit you get from such an environment? Include drawings and /or YouTube videos if you can!
  6. Just to piggyback off this thread, any problems with storing powder in it's original sealed/unopened container in an outside shed? I can't imagine the humidity getting to it if it's factory sealed.
  7. It's factory express furniture dyed with a walnut finish.
  8. HE, ever see the gas block on an LMT piston gun fail, break apart, and hit the target? I have (just to add to your list of malfunctions)
  9. I run the Remington +3 and have been very pleased with it. I would expect Remington's +2 to have the same level of quality.
  10. Very similar yes, but like Stu said it's .45 only and double stack mags are a-ok.
  11. 10 rds per mag max for SSP, ESP. In CDP(.45s only) it's 8 in the mag. Revolvers are black magic that are outdated and no one cares about them anyway.
  12. I've seen people shoot the Kriss Vector FA and launch rounds over the berm due to having no idea what they were doing.
  13. If you're interested, I've been toying with selling my precision side-charging upper which meets every one of your requirements except barrel length. Mine is 18" but it shoots ~1/2" with good 75gr handloads.
  14. Congratulations! Another Eagle here. This is a great thread considering my son will be 6 months old tomorrow.

<--this guy is far too impatient for that.
  16. If he calls the police they will tell him to turn it in to cover their own ass. The only definitive answer I would trust is one from an attorney.
  17. The forms do not get submitted anywhere. Technically the intent is that you each keep one copy of the form, however the law does not mandate that anyone keep them, only that you complete the form. In theory you could complete it and shred it immediately after. Personally, I keep copies of all of my COEs in a safe place. I believe that the only two ways a NJ resident and non-FID holder can acquire a firearm is if they purchased it legally while a resident of another state, or it was left to them in a will. Buying property and finding a gun is not something I'm 100% sure about.

I bought mine at RTSP the day after they became available. Also, the stainless gun is only one of several USPs in my collection(though I expect more going up for sale soon).
  19. A non-FID holder can transfer a rifle that they own legally to an FID holder using a COE(Certificate of Eligibility http://www.njsp.org/info/pdf/firearms/sp-634.pdf ). Fill out two copies, one for the Transferor and one for the Receiver, and leave the "Transferor's Firearm ID Card Number" slot empty. I cannot comment on the legality of your friend being the legal owner of the rifle as I do not know what the law says about that.
  20. I'll be down in that area the end of next week. I'm happy to do a little cleanup if anyone knows a good place to put full bags of refuse.

Can I get my 5% retroactively?
