  1. This is wierd. Any info out there? Bought a new Px4 and installed large backstrap. Two mags (dark red/brown color) worked fine with all backstraps. Ordered two more mags thru special promo. They came in (color black) and will not eject. With medium backstrap only one will eject; with small backstrap both will eject. Yes I called Beretta and they are working on it. But sometimes the Folks know better. Thanks.
  2. Another fair question. Let me start with this - gun buying seems to be much more about want than need. So I want to sharpen my skill beyond 200 yards and punch holes in paper. Could even possibly compete. I'm not really expecting the revolution. Price max $1500. Thanks, almiz
  3. Ok I am probably reading too much Boston T. Party. He's not in love with the AR10. Maybe the word is modular as opposed to modern. almiz
  4. OK so if you don't know it what have you heard? Let me start here. NOT interested in classic battle rifles eg, Garrand, M1A, etc. with iron sights, small mags and more. They are beautifull but NOT interested. Am interested in something more modern in 308, like the FNAR. AR10 seems to have a bad rep. C'mon let the opinions flow. Any specifics would be great - spare parts, reliability and that stuff. Al Miz.
  5. ******************** Thanks vjf. Actually I agree 100%. The "teeth/nose" thing was only an example. I think you should do 20 push ups and 20 jumping jacks - then grab the gun and try for two in the chest offhand. Thanks to all for the great answers but the tech aspect went in one head and out da other. I am trying to find out when a handgun would be typically out of spec per factory specs. So I shoot it from a machine and complain to SW or whomever that it is 2inch (or some number) off bullseye. Then they answer that the manufacturing tolerances (upper assembly, sights, etc.) allow for that performance. So don't bother us!!! You don't have a problem. HA. Maybe another way to ask this. Based on shooting it, how do you know when your gun needs to visit the factory? Thanks again, almiz111
  6. Does anybody really know the answer? Let's say I have a low end $350 to $550 brand new semi auto. I shoot it on a rest at 7 yards. Perfect sight picture. What accuracy can I expect from factory specs? No not the group precision but the accuracy. The center of the group will be within +/- x inches from the bullseye. What is x? For self defense it doesn't matter if I hit the nose or teeth but I still want to know what to expect based on factory specs. And then what would say $1000 buy me in this regard? Danke, Al Miz. PS Just in case - I'm talkin fixed factory sights here.
  7. Amen amen I say unto you. My research from YOU same people = if your 40 blows up it must be a Glock. Chow.

    To Sling or Not

I've been watching civilian and military training on rifle shooting - standing, kneeling and prone. Looks to me like the military sling is dead especially for the 22 battle carbine AKA, AR's. The US Army is showing me that no sling kneeling is the best. What???? If you check Appleseed it's all sling. But then that is for the real thing, an M1A battle rifle. At any distance 100/200/300/400/500 yards the sling ought to be best but then I am asking, not telling. Looks like the AR has changed more than just the weight of the ammo. What gives guys??

    40s&w

ok another worn out topic. is there a bottom line on 40s&w kabooms? Is it not the ammo period or what then? is this seriously more prevalent then problems with 9mm, 380, 45 etc.???? appreciate the help.
  11. how does one buy or sell a handgun in nj; person to person ; no dealer involved; thanks for the help.
  12. Help. More stupid questions. I have a pistol and rifle. My wife is getting her card and will buy a rifle. If we go to the range we can shoot anything any of us owns. But can I legally transport her rifle to the range without her being present. And vice versa. Thanks.

    SKS sights

Anybody know how to contact Jamie Mangrum? He is the dude that writes about all the SKS mods and products. Also which is better: Choate scope mount and scope or the TS-200 iron peep sight? Just looking to optimize accuracy. How about if you consider 'ease of use' ? Thanks.
  14. You guys are quite helpfull. I am gonna have to push my luck and ask for more. I saw some iron sight mods (peep with fiber optic in front). Also saw a scope mount that replaces the standard iron sight. The question is legality. This kinda stuff legal? The SKS is Norinco with the blade bayonet. Viel Danke.

    Scoped SKS

Ok sports fans I want to put a scope on my SKS. Yah I coulda/shoulda/woulda bought an M1 or Mini 30 but I didn't. Turns out the SKS is quite fun. 1. I read that a scope on the receiver cover is pretty unstable. Constant re-zeroing. Yes? No? 2. I can exchange the gas tube for one with a mount. So then what? ----- a pistol scope with long eye relief? ----- a red dot scope?? Any good experience or ideas out there. Thanks.

    HP Ammo Laws

Can you help, please? I am buying some HP ammo from Cabellas for my Walther PK380. Any new ammo should be tested in the gun right? And in NJ posession of HP is not legal outside the home, right? So what happens when I have it in transport to/from the range? Further - what if I had bought it at Dicks. I have to transport it home. Thanks.

    SKS Question.

thanks to all for the help. i guess this is why i ordered stripper clips!! you already know it - the laws are strange eg an ar15 is not an assault weapon with it's detachable mags??? so be it.
