  1. Hi! I have a Ruger Mk 1 bull barrel that seems to eat anything. I recon they're a fantastic pistol ; I did a podcast a few years ago reviewing mine: http://gunreviewpodcast.com/2011/06/10/ruger-mk-1leth-in-new-jersey/ Cheers!
  2. Mine was submitted yesterday (Wednesday) morning and was approved this morning. (Thanks Paul of Arms n Ammo!)
  3. I'd be interested in attending if there is room. My availability to attend would depend upon the class date. Thanks for any info you can provide!
  4. I love my WASR 10. Not a single problem in over six years. Great fun!
  5. I'll be there using my newly CMP acquired Garand. Huzzah!
  6. Wow - thanks for the link. That certainly clears that question up!
  7. Hmmm - are you thinking about a different Steve Lee? Isn't this guy very pro-gun and pro-shooting? Maybe I missed something...
  8. I have been using the Lee two and six cavity moulds for many years to great effect in .38/.357 and 45ACP. The lead I used was prefired projectiles reclaimed from the berms of my club. I only recently stopped casting due to a sudden reduction in free time due to studies and family. If you will be shooting a lot, casting is financially economical, but it came to the point for me where it just made more sense to buy pre-cast projectiles.
  9. I have a WASR with thousands of rounds through it without a single jam or any unwanted magazine wobble. They are as rough as guts inside, but to me that is part of the charm. Lift the receiver cover and you will see machining marks and a mainspring that looks like it was made out of a coathanger, but I knew that when I bought it. If I want high end machining and tight tollerances I'll use an AR. If you get a WASR, make sure you know what you intend to use it for and don't try to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Cheers!
  10. I went through the same quandry when considering a stock for my C96. I decided it was such a grey area that it wasn't worth the risk.

I have a blued, six inch Trooper Mk III in .357 . Love the bluing and balance. The double action trigger is a little heavier than what you would typically find on a Smith, but the single action is astoundingly good. Recommended!
  12. Thanks for the responses. The CMP eligibility requirements says I need to include a copy of my current membership badge or other proof of membership to a CMP Affiliated Organization. Hmmm - perhaps I should use my 2011 badge and a screenshot of my member profile.from the CJRPC website. Worth a try. Thanks!
  13. Just checking to see whether any renewing CJRPC members have received their 2012 member badges yet. I've got a CMP-bound envelope ready to go that is only lacking a copy of my badge. Cheers!
  14. The GunDudes were kind enough to publish a review I did on the Mauser “Broomhandle” C96 (GunDudes Episode 178 on iTunes or http://www.gundudes...._Page_ETY8.html ) I was able to squeeze in a shoutout to Maksim, NJ Gun Forums and Anthony’s Gun for Hire podcast at the very end. I’ve tarnished your reputations forever… Cheers, and have a great 2012! Leth
