High precision

Ruger 10/22 with a T-rex stock in voodoo blue, ER Shaw SS barrel with helical fluting, and a Tasco 10-40x by 50mm scope. Trigger isn't installed because it is getting polished and smoothed. I need to do something about the coating on the scope it started flaking off on me after the second time mounting it.

Tactical Sniper shooting? For tactical sniper get yourself a good scope and work on your fundamentals, a 10/22 is great to practice on. Get yourself to were you can put the rounds through the same hole. You should also try to get a Bi-pod for your 22 and get used to shooting with one. If you have an I Phone or I Pod touch get the Army sniper training manual, its 1.99 I think or try to find it online. After changing scopes. Doesn't look as cool as it did before but I know this scope works and the eye relief problem is gone. Added a pic of the Savage with the BSA 8-32by44 scope I picked up a few weeks ago.

I just switched out the old scope mount for a new 20 MOA base. Switched out the Center Point scope for my Tasco scope I'll have to wait until Saturday to zero it in.

I saw the paint job as soon as I walked into Brick Armory. That was one of the selling points for me.

The scope is a center point 3-12x by 42mm. The parallax is fixed to 100 yards. I'm gonna try messing around with the zero locks and resets later if I can find my tools.

i cant really tell what brand scope it is but if has a zero lock on the turrets and even after loosening the locking ring on the left and right adjuster I can't turn it. The parallax is also weird on it, not able to focus for the power I want to use. 3-5x is clear at 25 yards 5-12 is blurry. The last thing about the scope and ring set up is the eye relief on it sucks when shooting prone. I have to get into an uncomfortable position to see through the scope.

Just picked up a lightly used Remington 700 chambered in 308. Shoots really nice, very accurate, just don't like the scope all that much. What I really like about this one is the Camouflage and the skull bolt lever. My first rifle was a 700 now I finally got one back.

Put the upper receiver in a vice, slide a metal bar through the brake and twist off, the pin will come out. You can also drill out some of the pin and twist it off with a wrench, that is how I got mine off. It does mess up the threads on the barrel but you can repair them with a tap and die set.

Thanks it's kinda ugly now I think. Trying to get a bull barrel and a better handguard, this one transfers most of the heat to your hands after a long day shooting.

I made a few changes; Hogue free float tube, Nc star scope, Harris bi-pod bolted to my free float tube, and DPMS Panther-Style Pistol Grip.

i have two savages, one 308 with accu-trigger one 223 without. if you want to give them a try send me a pm. For bolt guns it looks good for the money. You can make any bolt gun more accurate. Depending on how the trigger on it is set up I might be able to adjust it for you, like I have on mine.

I have a Scoped SKS, it has the receiver mount and it does suck. Zero doesn't move a whole lot but you will have to re-zero it from time to time. I have to say it did help me learn how zero in a scope. i was going to get a side mount but it would have cost more then the rifle costs with gunsmithing fees.

No the Brick Armory counter is not mine, but the rifle in the case is.

Here is my Stag 15 model one. from top to bottom, Savage 10 Hs precision 308, Savage 10 on a Choate varmint stock 223 and my Stag 15.

IMO high power scopes are great for target shooting. I had a 6-24x tasco scope on my 22, was pretty good at 100 yards. Also had a 6.5-20x scope on my 308 which was also good. I now curently have a 10-40x by 50mm Tasco target scope on my savage 10 308 high precision rifle and love it. Was able to shoot a nice grouping at 200 yards. For me the higher the power the better. As for a rifle anything with a free floating barrell will give you the best accuracy. As for caliber it is up to you. I use NATO caliber rounds(223 and 308) easy to get and not really hard on budget. Any round should be good for the ranges that you can find NJ. Fd is 200, central jersey is 300 I think never shot there. Your AR should be able to shoot a nice grouping at 100 with a high power scope and bipod, prone is best but bench should be good too. Keep working on your breathing, trigger control, and on relaxing your muscles. When sitting or prone get yourself as relaxed as possible because the more tense you are the worse you will shoot. Getting better with your rifle is a heck of a lot cheaper then buying a new gun. But that is just me. Try a different scope first, if you are still having trouble then try out another gun. I'm sure you know someone who will let you try out one of their rifles. Pic of target at 200 yards not great
