  1. We did a kayak tour at Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge 2 years back. Lots to see, but the best part was when we got buzzed by a military jet from a nearby airbase. We could see the pilot turning the jet from a distance and he flew right over us at what seemed like 200 feet. The tour guide in the lead kayak looked back at us and said that was a first even for him!
  2. I recommend the Benchmark on 2nd Ave. If Isaac Mathews is playing you'll be in for a treat. And right across the street is the George Jones restaurant/bar, also a great venue!
  3. Had the same issue, so I ordered some new enbloc clips from Garand Gear and problem went away!
  4. Here's a useful site that may shed some light on crime rates, statistics, etc.....http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/pa/allentown/crime/
  5. At Sarcos the Mosin Nagants are not bad, but now there is a charge for everything extra, not like the good old days when one price of $95 covered everything! The rifle is $129, if you want a bayonet its another $10 and the sling is another $10, or something to that effect. "Complete" rifle is $149.
  6. I stopped several months ago and marveled at all the K98s on the wall, when I asked if they were for sale, also got the "NO" answer. I did buy a Mosin from them though. Really, if they took down all the "display' guns that aren't for sale, there's really not much there.
  7. Thank you BRaptor, and everyone else for all the knowledgable replies! I think the best approach then is to be super-safe rather than sorry, so I'll ask my father to call his lawyer and get the cost to make this fully legit with all the necessary paper work and lawyer involvement (and of course I'll pick up the tab for it!)
  8. I know the topic of inheriting a handgun is discussed often, but I could use some further clarification if someone out there is knowledgable in my particular situation; My father has a handgun that he wishes to leave me upon his death, however his Will was written many years ago and the handgun is not specifically mentioned. Does he need to modify the existing Will by going to an attorney's office and adding the handgun's information (and thus incurring add'l expense) or can he just state his wishes in a separate signed letter that would accompany the original Will?
  9. Gee, I wonder (not really, I know the answer) what would happen to someone throwing rocks at Mexican border police on the southern border of Mexico? The answer is the too would probably be shoot, and if they lived, dragged across the border & thrown into a Mexican prison for the rest of their life.
  10. I had to renew my FID card 2 years ago after having moved to a new adddress in town (Middlesex Boro) , and was concerned about getting a pistol permit within 2 years of getting my new FID or else I'd have to do the whole process over again. The police told me that is no longer an issue, and that it would have been OK if it was over 2 years since getting my new FID. I find it hard to believe that individual towns would have the ability to decide whether this was rule or not. This has to be a consistant law throughout the state, no?
  11. Quote: 1. Handgun purchases by ....A. NJ resident from ........(4) Out-of-state resident = must be transferred through NJ dealer - Refer 1A(1) Maybe someone can help clarify further for me please; If my father who lives out of state wants to give me his hangun, could he drive to my town in NJ with the handgun and we then go to a nearby FFL and do the transaction there directly, assuming I have my NJ hangun purchase permit? Would this be allowed in NJ so I could avoid the shipping fee from originating from his state (Vermont)?
