  1. "When I see Bin Laden with his AK-47, I got nervous. But what can I do, terrorists aren't fools: they too chose the most reliable guns." "I'm proud of my invention, but I'm sad that it is used by terrorists," he said on a visit to Germany, adding: "I would prefer to have invented a machine that people could use and that would help farmers with their work — for example a lawnmower."

  2. Make sure to check state laws. Some states haw "contigous states" laws in that residents of that state may only purchase in bordering states, and residents of bordering states may purchase in that state.

For example. Residents of New Mexico can purchase a long gun in TX, OK, CO, UT and AZ, and residents of TX, OK, CO, UT and AZ may purchase a gun in NM. But a resident of, say, Nebraska (or any other state) could not purchase a long gun in NM.

Many states have laws like this, I know North Carolina and Ohio do.

  3. If it wasnt a retired cop or public official and just a regular permit holder do you think it would have made NJ.com?

Yes, though the story would been a lot shorter. It would have been one of those little crime story blurbs they post and the guy would likely have his gun and permit taken away and facing all sorts of charges. They would throw the book at him and then pick it up and throw it at him again.

The media would also have a little field day with it and use it as evidence of why "people shouldn't be licensed to carry guns"

  4. Not that I am disagreeing with you, because you technically are right in this statement. But the reason why you are right, he is a retired cop so he can carry. Any of us found with an unlocked and loaded pistol in our car would go to prison because the only reason we can have a pistol is if we were going to the range or selling it/just bought it and taking it home....and even then it needs to be locked and separate from the ammo. This guy has the legal ability to carry in this state. I would say that a good comparison would be me going 20 over on a highway, with a valid license, registration, and insurance, would earn me a ticket of anywhere from say $74-$250 depending on the area. Then Joe Shmoe who drives with a suspended license, no insurance, and the car is unregistered, goes 20 over on that same highway......he gets a harsher penalty than I do because he should not have been driving in the first place.

Yes, but your example is not valid IMO because:

A driver's license, although technically a privilege and definitely not a right, is basically "shall issue" - unless you don't have ID, don't know how to drive, or have done some gross violation(s) of road laws, you are given a driver's license if you go to the DMV and fill out papers for one. So, for someone to be "not even supposed to be driving in the first place" they must first have done something wrong to warrant having lost their license. Not only that, but each of those violation(s) to take someone's license away they got a trial for the charges against them in which they could contest the charges and prove their innocence if they did not do anything.

As for gun permits, the only reason you or I can't have one, the only "crime" we ever committed to not be able to have one, was being born east of the Delaware River and not wearing a badge or having a massive bank account.

  5. Well I guess I'm a criminal even though I did exactly what the prosecutor told me

Don't you love it when laws have no consistency?

FACT of the matter is, you got lucky, because NOTHING in NJ law allows you to obtain a firearm without an FID. The prosecutor let you go. Simple as that. YOU. GOT. LUCKY.

    Quit making little comments.

  6. And the fine for the unlocked gun is 74 bucks??? Thats it??

    $74 for a retired cop.

Felony prison time for anyone else.

    Sounds about right!

EDIT: LOL at the negatives, I guess the truth hurts?

Leave your loaded gun unsecured in YOUR car at a rest stop sometime. See what happens when an officer finds it.

Don't worry, I'll write you letters while you're in prison :icon_lol:

  7.

many American soldiers have fallen victim to those commie gunz, i'm not gonna celebrate that crap

American solders were murdered by foreign soldiers, not the guns they used. Guns are inanimate objects and have no political ideologies.

  8. I have a permit now. I went to the cops and that's what I was told. I have a letter signed by my grandfather, notarized and it lists the guns and serial numbers. I have a copy and so do the police. I explained it that when my grandparents moved they only brought 1 pistol and left me a couple rifles. Prosecutor said that was fine. I wasn't gonna argue with him. Maybe he didn't feel it was worth pushing the issue and tax dollars on something stupid like that or thier is a law that covers it. I'm not sure. I wasn't trying to hide em or lie.

Also one of the rifles was so old it didn't have a serial number.

Then you got extremely lucky because that is not how the law is worded at all. Go play the lottery too while you are at it.

Also, age of the rifle has no bearing on the law, as written in NJ law, a 14th century Arqueus and a brand new Barrett .50 are (legally speaking) the same thing.

  9. First off you dont know me or my wife or where we live , you dont know what the enviroment is like i live in OR what my wife was thinking SO that said ,if she stays behind the full glass door the 2 individuals would have seen my 46 in high def tv , the blue ray player , the bose surround sound amongst other valuables so for you to say that is just plain STUPID

So, what do you value more, your hi-def TV or your wife? Plain and simple, her stepping outside was the dumbest thing she could have done. No idea why you're getting all pissed at me, ten other people are all saying the same thing.

  10. just for arguments sake..

innocent looking females on porch... 200+lb man just out of sight.. the second that door opens.. he comes into sight pushing your wife into the home.. it might sound Hollywood but it is actually a pretty common way that these scumbags get in.. get you to open the door for someone that looks harmless...

+1 no idea why this guy is proud of his wife.

Yeah she got the alarms set and the doors locked and the guns loaded....

.....right after she left herself and the house wide open for a burglary

  11. ie triangle metal stock

Unless it folds (which it won't) it's a total waste in NJ. The aftermarket open-only ones are total crapola abortions with an obnoxious "adapter" block and then now you have all the drawbacks of a triangle like worse cheek weld, different angle, and none of the benefits like folding. Not to mention that the stock is about $200-250 for a purely cosmetic upgrade.....

Really, just keep your standard wood or fixed polymer K-var stock. There's really no need to fix what isn't broken as you gain nothing by changing since you can't have anything that folds or collapses.

In the words of Ivan "RIFLE IS FINE"

Note the horizontal trunion assembly on the mil-spec versus the obnoxious block and vertical trunion tang on the one made to fit a standard rear trunion on the aftermarket one.

  12. 3)

Whether the "ASSAULT WEAPONS” BAN violates the Second Amendment.

    4)

Whether the "LARGE CAPACITY MAGAZINE" BAN violates the Second Amendment.

The justices stated in Heller that the government cannot ban "arms in common use" and with ~45 states having no laws at all against semi-automatic rifles and standard capacity magazines, and with millions of such guns and accessories sold and an entire giant industry built around it, I would be incredibly surprised if the court does not rule that these bans are unconstitutional.

  13. state organizations like ANJRPC

Can we all stop pretending ANJRPC is a gun rights organization?

They're nothing but an organization that makes a bunch of money running a gun club and puts out some feel-good newsletters. They have not done jack in 5 months now since McDonald, I have not heard a peep out of them. They waited days after McDonald to post some laughably generic statement from the NRA and that's it. Oh whoop-dee-doo.

Not for plaintiffs in a suit, not for more information about Brian Aitken, not for the many people who have been denied permits wrongly, not even any effort from them to try and get some consistency from town to town with permits.

ANJRPC is basically just "The Cherry Ridge Gun Club"

  14. No I dealt with this. My grandfather moved to Florida and left a few guns with me. This was before I had a fid card. I talked to the prosecutor and he told me I can fill out a voluntary registration form.

Do you realize that you are admitting to illegal activity on a public forum frequented by police officers?

  15. I enjoy the irony of your actions in a West Coast Establishment of anti-gun wackos!

Uh? I think you should read this. Starbuck's Corporation takes an entirely neutral stance on gun politics and follows the laws of the state/city in which that location is.

And they told the Brady Campaign to basically get lost.
