  1. My guess is that Mr. Matrix didn't pay much attention in 8th grade Civics class.
  2. Hey, they've gotta keep the jails full somehow. Since they can't keep up with the real bad guys, they just make laws that turn easier people into "bad guys" too.
  3. Is this it? http://current.com/shows/vanguard/89716716_fully-automatic-america.htm
  4. They had an issue a while back where someone at their range sent a bullet out of the range and into a nearyby housing complex. As a result, they have a gone a little bit overboard on safety due to fear of lawsuits or having to shut down. You can shoot only from the bench, inside a concrete booth angled slightly downwards. They also enforce a no "rapid fire" which is anything more than a shot every five seconds or so. Otherwise, it's a nice place, if you're just looking to sight in a rifle, or do some casual shooting, it's nice and the people are friendly and prices are low.
  5. She should have called the office of pre-crime. Maybe the pre-ccogs would have seen it coming? Seriously, you know how sometimes your mom gets all worried about something dumb - when you're 4 or 40, and it doesn't really have any reality to it? Yeah....That's probably one of those times...... Either way, this case was a great opportunity for jury nullification, too bad none of them were aware of it or used it.
  6. Not if the government makes that practice illegal yeah, kudos to him. It's really hard to start a business and I'm glad he did and succeeded. Especially since without him I wouldn't have a job. But like I said, let's be honest here. Once he's got the business started, who's getting the work done? The two dozen guys driving the trucks or the dude sitting back in his office playing fantasy football? It's a mutual relationship, you see. He needs his employees as much as they need him. The working man generates the revenue and gets paid like crap (the average CEO salary is 531x the base level employee, compared to 231x base level employee in 1980) and there is really no justification for that. If he's gonna reap the rewards of huge salary versus his "peons" then it's all well and good they at least secure basic benefits like pensions, health insurance, ethical hiring/firing, etc. And since he probably isn't gonna play nice and do all that out of the goodness of his heart....well, that's where democracy comes in handy.

Sorry if you think I called you out personally or anything. But how can I verify the veracity of the bold part of your claim? Anyone with an e-mail address can get an account here, and anyone with $5/month can view any section of the forum. Sure some of you guys may not care, but who knows "who else" is on here just lurking, whether it be a cop or a criminal or an anti-gun blogger posing as BubbaDixie61 trolling for stupid quotes. I know the ADL was trolling popular gun boards a while back looking for quotes from some of the duller crayons in the box. Just giving you an idea of where I'm comin' from. I treat the internet like I would the real world, and if I wouldn't say/do it on Main Street I wouldn't do it on the internet either. Well, except for porn. I totally wouldn't watch that on Main Street
  8. ding ding ding Exactly! Now, here's the fun part, where democracy comes in. Are there more Chiefs, or Indians? More worker bees, or queens? People love to justify this by "oh boy I'm the one who gives you a job" and you're right, without business owners there could be no employees. But here's what some people don't get - without employees, there are no business owners! I know "a poor man never wrote a paycheck" well guess what, the rich man probably his money with the help of a whole lot of poor people. Cause it sure as hell ain't the stuffed suit in the fancy office full of football memorabilia that gets the work done Thank you, well said.
  9. I'm sorry, I guess we will just have to agree to disagree. I fully support government regulation for minimum wage laws, safe working standards, ethical hiring/firing practices, etc. I also support the right of workers to unionize and seek better pay/conditions/etc., whether they are teachers and cops, or dock builders and pipe fitters. As for credit, I actually don't even have any active credit cards and am in $0 debt. But I still support the idea of a working man not being denied a job based on credit score (which for many is a result of the system's failure, bad luck in life, or predatory lending practices). I'm more concerned with regular people getting to hold jobs, not fat cats having an easier time finding reasons not to hire people. But that's just me I agree with you here on both points and wish more managers were like you. Unfortunately, though, they are not - most of them will not "play nice" like you do.
  10. It ranges from some towns not sending anything to the job, to some towns sending a letter to verify employment and if the employment is in good status, to extreme examples of some towns flat out asking the boss if the "applicant is qualified to own a gun" Some people's bosses don't care, some people work in a huge company that either won't sign off (someone here had that issue recently) or it takes a week to even get the letter to the right desk, I know someone who is personally afraid to apply because they know their town sends letters to their employer and their employer is highly anti-gun and would probably fire them or put down something stupid. It's nothing but an intimidation measure. Or just one more speedbump to make it more of a hassle. Either way there's no reason any such letter is needed or justified.
  11. This mentality works wonderful until a handful of large companies who hold most of the employment opportunities in the city/region/county decide to collude and all adopt the same practices, leaving you nowhere else to go look for a job. Case in point, my last industry, was dominated by 3 large companies and two very small ones. Twenty years ago there were about ten companies but over the years they consolidated or were bought out. The three all paid the same low wages, with the same **** hours, in the same terrible environments. Sure, some guy in the warehouse could adopt your mentality and seek elsewhere in the same line of work - to go from one crap job to another. Sure the two small ones had slightly better pay, but they had almost 1/10 as many jobs available, so going to them was a matter of luck for most. You will find that there is probably a disproportionate amound of support for this bill amongst the "working man" and those who work in the office telling him what to do. That's my guess, at least. But who knows. The EU is considering something similar to this, an online "right to disappear" from the internet - Mike Schmidt the CEO of Google has also spoken about how many of the young people of today will likely have to change their names in the future to escape their online past. It's stupid to post anything dumb online in the first place, and I think someone as an adult who posts pictures of them wasted drunk, half naked, or doing illicit things like drugs, is extremely stupid and in bad taste (and I don't blame a job for not hiring them) But it is pretty shitty to look at the prospect of someone being 13-14, doing something stupid, pictures hit the internet, and ten years later when they're a mature, intelligent adult and don't even remember that time, it comes up during a job's Google of them and they don't get hired. Simply because they were too dumb as a kid to know not to post crap. We all did dumb things as kids but the only difference is that nowadays, my generation and future generations are unknowingly making semi-permanent public records of it.
  12. Come on guys, we're better than that. Let's not post bigoted crap. You don't like it when the government says what kind of stock your gun can have, why would you care what two consenting adults do in the privacy of their home.
  13. Why bother? Just wait until you move, and then walk into a gun shop and buy guns like an American.
  14. IMO anything longer than 10 minutes is bs. This entire permit system does nothing that a phone call to NICS can't.

LOL like maybe the multiple cops that browse this board regularly? Internet forums are not private....by any means. The owner of the site gets subpoenaed - or just willingly cooperates since they're not about to risk their income for dpas1973 - guess who's posts get read out loud in court. Not to mention in public forum sections, it's PUBLIC and so none of the above is needed to be held against you. May as well go change your stock in Times Square now. Seriously dude, just go to a gunsmith.
  16. With a PA LTCF or a license from any state that PA honors, you can carry openly or concealed in Philadelphia. No restrictions on ammo, it's ok to use standard ammunition there. Keep in mind what Pizza Bob said about Philadelphia PD as they are acting in violation of the law and essentially "bullying" any law abiding citizen who they presume to have a gun on them. They usually confiscate gun, permits, and detain the person as long as possible until they have to face the facts that they did nothing illegal. They have a special hard-on for Florida permits (no clue why as FL's CCW permit process is far more restrictive than PA's) with city officials and representatives now calling it the "Florida Permit Loophole" and calling for it closed. So be aware of the situation and prepared to properly deal with the police should they decide to pick on you.
  17. I see what you mean, but, good luck with that. Maybe out in west Jersey or something. You shoot an airsoft gun in the backyard where I live and get ready to have some fun when they show up with god knows how many officers. I remember reading a while back on a tech site called Wired, some guys brought a replica of the gun from the video game Halo? Or was it Gears of War? to the office. Someone saw the guy in the window? Or was it walking into the building? And they got a nice visit from the SWAT team. The only luck those guys had was that it is not illegal to own a damn toy so at least after they had machine guns stuck in their faces they got to go along with the rest of their day. I would not doubt for a second that you pull some airsoft gun crap in your backyard around here and find yourself in a jail cell.
  18. What does creating a website have to do with anything? The law, as written, says that they cannot tack on additional forms. Next time you get pulled over and the cop hands you a ticket, whip out some "additional forms" and see if he signs them for you Don't fill out extra, illegal, forms. Politely explain to them the statute and give them the number of it. If they still demand you fill out certain forms or do anything not listed on those two forms, don't make a scene, don't act up, politely leave and call NJSP firearms unit and they will explain it to them. Wouldn't be a bad idea. SAF is looking for potential plaintiffs in NJ, aren't they?
  19. Except when you encounter an over ambitious officer who sends you to an over ambitious judge, and now you're in a cell. Ask Brain Aitken,
  20. Man if only that 887 was an autoloader....
  21. And this, my friends, is why some local PDs feel free to add-on whatever forms and processes they feel like.
