  1. One example: Gun permits in Morris County increase by 50 percent http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2009/1 ... nty_i.html Frank
  2. Hi all! We have a brief unique opportunity to reverse the direction of gun legislation in NJ. People in NJ are FED UP with the status quo. For the first time in a LONG time, people ARE paying attention and are willing to make changes. It is up to us, the law abiding gun owners, to demand our rights as human beings - the right to carry a weapon for self protection. I know that your first reaction is it is a waste of time. I assure you, that is not the case. People in NJ who have never consider having a gun, are now applying for their FID and pistol permits. That is a matter of public record. It is up to *US* to let our state representatives know that we will no longer sit back and let them strip us of our HUMAN rights. PLEASE contact your representatives today. It is VERY easy to do. Just go to http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/, find your district on the map, and you will be able to send a message to all your reps. at one time. This is the time to act, and KEEP ON ACTING, until we get back the rights we let slip away. Frank
  3. Ohnonotme, Yes, your evaluation is correct. That is the way things HAVE been. I personally know of SEVERAL people (including myself), who I would NEVER have thought would purchase a gun, doing so. Things *ARE* changing, but it is up to us to strike while the iron is hot. HELL, even if I am wrong, it can't hurt to try. I encourage everyone to contact their state representatives, and voice your opinion. It is easy to do. Just go to: http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/ Identify your district on the map, and you can send a message to all your reps at once. Frank
  4. I think we have an unprecedented opportunity to change the direction of gun legislation in our state. People are FED UP with the status quo. For the first time in my memory, Jerseyans are ready to stand up and fight against high property taxes and restrictive laws. We have a brief opportunity to get our rights back. Talk to your friends. Explain to them about the risks associated with the government being the only ones with the guns, about the right of every human to protect themselves and their families. We CAN change the gun laws in NJ, but it will take a LOT of effort. No one ELSE is going to do it. It is up to US! Frank (as he steps off his soap box) :-)
  5. Hey Shane, I am over here on Selma Drive, off Morris BLVD., just before you go over the causeway to LBI. Let me know if you want to go shooting up at Brick Armory sometime. Frank
  6. I have found the H&K 30L with it long sight radius to be an extremely accurate gun. But I don't own a 1911, so I can't make a comparison. Frank
  7. Although I share megaman's negative feelings toward the people who have legislated our rights away, I don't think we should give up. Even if it turned out to be a waste of time, I think it is worth the effort to continue the fight. Nothing is ever won by giving up. Frank
  8. If anyone but a government did this, it would be called STEALING! Frank
  9. Hey Chopper, Where is the 539 range? Frank
  10. Welcome FNG, What kind of IT do you do? Frank
  11. Hi Guys, Thanks for all the greetings. I spent most of this weekend with my two beautiful little granddaughters. That's the best part of being old. :-) Dan - yeah I get that a LOT! :-) Hello to Ken, Coldsoldier, Don, Ray, Shane, Tim, Maksim (Mark, I think), edge, and Tony - Tony I could not be happier with the P30L. I know I am new to the sport, but it is hard to imagine a better shooting pistol. I think my next gun will be an H&K 45. I'll have to see if I can find someone that has one so I can try it out. The best to all of you, Frank
  12. I just bought the H&K P30L. I only shot it once and ran about 250 rounds of 115 through it. Not a single issue. Shoots VERY clean. I used the WOLF fmj steel jacket 115 rounds. Frank
  13. Thx Mike. That's exactly what I want to do. I know "The rules are different here". I went to visit my brother in Florida - it's like a different country. I have to wonder if there isn't something we can do to ease the restrictions here. Being new, I am sure it is something that has been discussed many times. I'm looking forward to the discussions. Frank
  14. Hi Mike, Yeah, that was me. It was a pleasure meeting you. Tony is a great guy. He is easy to do business with. He also had the best price. I took the P30L for a shoot this morning at Brick. It handled like a DREAM. Best accuracy I have had to date. It was a joy to shoot. Frank
  15. Hi Tony, It's pretty damn nice down here. My wife and I retired here about 2 years ago. Best decision we ever made. Frank
  16. Thx Pilot, I am looking forward to participating. I have heard some very good things about the people here from my Firearms Supplier. Frank
  17. Hey, nice to meet you. Yeah, I did a LOT of research before I purchsed it, but I was STILL very impressed at the great fit, balance, and accuracy of the gun. All great things for a new shooter.
  18. Hi all, My name is Frank Fiamingo. I live in Manahawkin, and I heard about the forum from Tony @ TJ Sporting Arms. I just started shooting a couple of months ago, although I am 61 (I know, I am a slow study ). My first gun is the H&K P30L. My wife and I recently purchased a membership at The Brick Armory. I usually shoot on Wednesday mornings. I hope to meet some of you. I have a great deal to learn. Frank
