  1. This was like 2 or 3 weeks ago lol. Sometimes this forum is living in the dark ages! Taran Tactical is a joke and a great example of a creepy old guy and his specific sponsor practices coming back to bite him.
  2. Dude! Nice pick up. They're such cool rifles. I've been wanting one for a while, just haven't crossed the asking price for one. As Rob said, let Steve at Monmouth Arms take care of you. Tell him you know Drez. He does great work and it's a good time hanging out in the shop.
  3. That matching sawback is friggin sweet! I'm not into Mausers much but still a really nice lot of rifles there. Enjoy 'em.
  4. Ok Capt, fess up. What'd you import???
  5. Are you taking about Rider insurance? I used to have them for motorcycle insurance...I didn't realize they had insurance for anything other than Moto.
  6. And how come you answer his 7am call and never my 2pm call when I forget you don't open at 5!
  7. I'm more curious about the 8 rifles imported. To do it individually takes a decent amount of time and money which in turn makes me wonder what was imported.
  8. I've known a few old guys that have gone the past years and they've said the gun sections have drastically decreased. A lot more fishing and hunting stuff than guns and that's held me back from going as I don't have much interest in the others. A friend just went yesterday and I told him that it wasn't what it used to be. Like me, he's big into guns but not much else that's there. He thought he'd make the trip anyway and he texted me mid afternoon and said it wasn't worth it at all. Got to see some cool things walking around but not worth the 5hr round trip to walk around. I called him after work and he said over 50% of vendors were guides, he was shocked to see so many. You could buy a permit to shoot an elephant, mountain lion, anteater, probably mice too. Apparently gun vendors were minimal as was their gun inventory with some large gun companies just having an empty tent (?) but Mossberg had the best set up in his opinion. At the same time, it was Wednesday so maybe the weekend days will have more gun vendors? I dont want to rain on everyone's parade but wanted to share that since it sounds like some ppl are on the fence. Not saying my buddy shares everyone's opinion but it sounded pretty lame. It's just not worth it for me. I'd rather save the 5hr drive, gas for my truck and stupid shit I'll buy out there and put it towards...say...my Shockwave!
  9. Anytime! I'm always more than willing to help. Sorry I was in and out so quick, I had plans late morning but wanted to say a quick hi to everyone and more specifically shoot the Shockwave lol cause I really wanna buy one but wanted to shoot it before anything. I'm always ready for a shootout, you know me. Just say when! You did treat me to a free gun and some free ammo but you didn't put it in yourself ;-)
  10. C'mon vato, you're not getting off that easy. You'll never win this cause neither of us are right or wrong considering most is subjective. S2K can fold with an optic via an impressive handguard that rotates. There's actually a rather large market for aftermarket parts for these guns which is great... upgradeable triggers, handguards, bolt knobs, etc. You out of everyone would like that as not much you own isn't heavily tacticooled..I mean modified. G26 mags, g19 finger handicap shelf, g392747 mag interchangeability...no points there. S2K use 19 and 17 mags since those are the 2 most popular Glocks as far as I know. I will say the PCC that accepts on the fly changes of different mags via the mag insert is pretty nifty. BHO is null. It may be a convenient feature but doesn't effect the action or anything. Plenty of guns out there with no BHO, specifically AKs. PCC charging handle location may be better but simply for familiarity reasons. Just because the S2K's is rearward just makes it unique. Who says a Tavor's rearward magwell or an h&k g3 bolt handle all the way up front is right or wrong? Train and practice with what you got. It's all subjective. The PCC is a typical fixed stock pistol carbine that breaks apart in 2 pieces and takes different mags. The S2K is a uniquely styled pistol carbine that physically folds in half, takes different mags, and is lighter and cheaper than the PCC. PCC is 6.8lbs versus S2K at 4lbs...almost 3lb difference along with folding specs..20" rear half and 16" front half for the PCC make it basically 20"x7-8"? broken apart versus 16"x7" for the S2K. Here's a nicely set up S2K with rotating mlok handguard, upgraded front sight, PA MRDS, and Tlr1s.
  11. I know when you really like a gun, everything else is second best. But I will say it depends on the user. S2K can handle optics no problem and has a threaded barrel, numerous models take Glock mags and 2 or 3 other common manufacturers, BHO is debatable. If anything, PCC is made out of more metal which may be better in the long run. No doubt polymer is strong though. Biggest two differences is how they fold, or take apart, and materials. Both are subjective wouldn't you agree? In the end, just like most guns, buy both :-)
  12. Damn, sounds like Chris got the full treatment! Ray I want that!
  13. I know a lot of guys have insurance but having a company know what you have and what it's worth and where it is is a little unnerving, no? Kinda like alarm companies and the employee who installs it knowing what the inside of the house looks like along with alarm secrets.
  14. Sub2000's are awesome. They may have a plasticky feel and cheap parts, but the innovative design, light recoil, and light weight make up for any con's IMO. The thing folds in half for cripes sake! Plenty of upgrades are available as well. There is no doubt KelTec has issues with some of its guns but the S2K ive shot have shot great. Ruger PC is not easily comparable, maybe just because it's a pistol carbine. But design, feel, foldability, and weight all go to the S2K. There's no doubt Ruger made a nice gun with the PCC but I don't think they can be compared easily.
  15. Wow 12 pages, may be a record. These made me LOL reading through them. https://ibb.co/c8efLc https://ibb.co/kO5WRH Fishnut keep on talking sauce. I wanna see the little girls finally come out (aka Steve!) Let's give them a break though, i know a little snow scares everyone off. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  16. Pretty sure I shot with those guys at the MG shootout last year.
  17. Haha pussying out would be if I said I'd be there and canceled last minute. I am not one to do that unless something important comes up! I'm not a huge fan of Lone Eagles beer but I'd suck it up to hangout with everyone. Also Qcrew delivers bbq there soooo on those terms, we may have to go there now!
  18. Damn. I haven't been on the forum a lot lately and missed this. Sounds like you guys had a good time. I'd like to organize one soon, maybe head over to Flounder Brewery or something.
  19. You'll have to fit each mag and possibly file accordingly. They have fit some mag wells good and others have taken different levels of modifying. If you need to get rid of 5-10 of yours, please let me know. I have a guy out of state to permanently modify them.
  20. 7.62x39 VEPR supposedly $1350. What a joke.
  21. That thing is so ugly. If I went SBR, I'd go with a Yugo m92.
  22. Congrats on the new house, brother! Looks really nice. I'm super jealous. Good luck with it and have fun! If you ever need someone to bring a bunch of guns over to shoot, remember me :-)
  23. I'm saddened to hear of the news. I bought two guns from Frank and his daughters and they were both my first guns of each type. First .22 and first shotgun. I sold the .22 a few years later but the shotgun I still have and it has a ton of mileage on it. That whole family was very welcoming and patient with new shooters (me back then). That's the big reason I drove across NJ to buy from them. They had a shop that when you'd walk in, you didn't get that cold "gunship vibe". They were always willing to help and educate and I wish more shops were like that. Nowadays there are only a handful around that still display that positive attitude. I think I will be writing an email to them and thank the family for helping me get into the hobby, by now lifestyle if anything. Hell, maybe I'll go buy another gun from them.
  24. I don't even know why anyone would waste their time with Armslist. It's either forums or GB if dealing online.
  25. They haven't sold lowers to us for a while. They won't ship us AK's and ARs either.
