OGAM now 33 days?!?!
savageshooter replied to illy's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
I stand corrected, but what actually happens is that a person will come in to buy a handgun and sales will ask "have you bought a gun in the past 30 days?" The salesman will ask what date the person took possession of the gun, ie: the date on their last permit. Example: Person took possession of the gun on December 12. December 13 would be day 1 and you would count 30 days from 12/13. If good, NICS will be run. SS also has date checker software. I've seen too many denials from the State Police because someone is under 30 days. To my knowledge, the denial stays with you, so why take a chance. The 30th day is also confusing. So, think buffer. Blame the State for this nonsense. -
OGAM now 33 days?!?!
savageshooter replied to illy's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
All guns purchased on Sunday at SS get the NIcs run on Monday morning. If the customer is waiting on his 30 days, then maybe he would have to come back at a later date, but if it has been after 30 days, you can pick up your gun on Monday if your NICS is OK. 33 day wait after last purchase does not apply at Shore Shot, this is wrong info. I would like a link to where it says that so it can be corrected. -
I bought two of the Bravo Company uppers when they were $99. Both came with no blemishes at all. Reading the reviews, it seems that over 90% of the people that bought them are happy. A couple of people had uppers with blems they could notice. Luck of the draw, but odds are in your favor

BCM Upper Receiver - M4 Flat Top - Demo Scratched - $99.00
savageshooter replied to bhunted's topic in Hot Deal Discussions
Ditto, I bought two of these and couldn't find a blemish anywhere on either one. With the forward assist and ejection port parts it's a no-brainer for anyone who needs one. Takes 5 minutes to assemble. -
Another vote for the Howard Leight R-01526 for long guns, along with $5.00 eye protection that works just fine for me. Pistol shooting I like the Howard Leight Honeywell's here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007BGSI5U/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_2/184-8735243-2339365?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_r=17Y4FCKD41N2A2E6MJVC&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_p=1535523722&pf_rd_i=B001T7QJ9O

Pistol Transfer from Relative
savageshooter replied to compujas's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
Does he have a NJ FID card and NJ Driver License to go with that address? If so, you can do a face to face, If no, he needs to get it to an FFL and you will bring your permit to FFL to complete transfer and pickup. Put simply, you can only do a face-to face with a NJ resident. Out of state needs an FFL. -

Muzzle brake for non-threaded barrel (in my case: M&P15 Sport)
savageshooter replied to mge_1's topic in AR Discussion
Leave it alone. There are better things you could spend the money on. Buy a Samson Rail. -
You bought a great gun, enjoy it. I have a bit over 500 rounds through mine without a single hiccup. As far as overpaying, well we've all felt that way one time or another. A few months from now it won't make a difference. People were paying $2000 or more for AR's that normally go for $1000 not too long ago. Shoot many rounds, love your gun.

when does the nics process start
savageshooter replied to awynne56's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
Theoretically, yes. Need serial number, make, model etc. to start the process. -

American Eagle .223 $14.99 for 20 rds. Hardly a deal but......http://www.targetspo...ammunition.aspx Just to add, I've ordered from Target Sports before with zero problems. "Deals" will come, but they'll be in the form of 20 rds. for $10 when you find them, but we have to act fast as they sell out in a very short period of time.
