  6. Please let us know what we did well and what needs improving! This is a no-holds barred thread so good, bad, or ugly, let's hear it!
  7. My wife and I are finally getting around to a honeymoon so the store will be shut down from the 12th through the 18th. The store will still accept orders however I won't be shipping them until the 19th. I'll still have my BlackBerry and the office phone will be forwarding to it so I won't be completely out of contact.
  8. One of the most effective ways, at least in my experience, to draw my wife (and newbie female shooters in general) to the range is a combination of the right gun, caliber and target with the latter being more important than the former. Reactive targets like tennis balls and spinners are much more engaging than paper or even plate steel. Good on ya for getting her out there though!
  9. For that upper, you'll need a carbine length which is 7". FYI, UTG is a manufacturer of airsoft gear. Rails and handguard length are determined by the gas system, not the barrel length or contour. Even then, you could put a low profile gas block on there and run a rifle length or midlength rail if you wanted to.
  10. Unless you have local ordinances against it, there aren't any hoops to jump through. I called in an order for a full set of plates to BulletProofMe.com and had them in a couple days. Now getting used to wearing armor while training is interesting as you fatigue alot faster even though each plate only weighs 6-8lbs. My advice would be if you buy a plate carrier, don't get black unless you specifically need it for night ops. OD or coyote tan would be much preferable for use during the day. Armor is heavy and it doesn't breathe well so something as simple as a non-black color does wonders.
  11. Yes, there are some very important differences. You want a BCG that has a HPT and MPI tested bolt. HPT (high pressure testing) is basically firing a proof load (70K PSI) and MPI (magnetic particle inspection) is the subsequent check to make sure the material held up as it should. You want a BCG where the gas key has been properly staked. This prevents the screws from backing out. Loctite is NOT a substitute for staking. The gas key should be chrome lined. The choice between full and semi-auto isn't as important however the full-auto BCGs feature a fully shrouded firing pin which results in less wear. They're also a little heavier to slow down the cyclic rate however it's been my experience that a heavier buffer is more effective at reducing felt recoil than a full-auto BCG.
  12. I have a limited shipment of black 20rd PMAGs coming on Monday 8/8. Pre-orders have been opened for black 15/20 PMAGs so if you want some, please get your order in soon as I have dealer and wholesale orders to fill as well.
  13. This reminds me of a relatively recent news story in TX where two guys were hunting frogs and were attacked by wild pigs. Moral of the story: Take a 10mm when frog hunting LOL

  15. Even if it's legal, I wouldn't want to discharge any type of firearm in an enclosed space without a good ventilation system.

  19. To make a 15/20 or 15/30 5.45 mag, I would need new tooling. The last injection molding pattern I had quoted was $3K. I made the tooling myself for that job for alot less but still a considerable amount. Even if the tooling wasn't an issue, not having a host weapon to test the blocked mags in is a show-stopper. I would do it if I could but unfortunately, it's not viable at this time.
  20. I've got the 5.56 mags covered but since I don't own anything chambered in 5.45, I don't have a host weapon to test a limited capacity magazine plus there's the cost of the tooling/patterns to make the right size/shape blocks.
  21. It's funny you should mention that. I plan to use my 15rd "stubby" LR20s with it as the shorter mags give additional clearance AND the FSC30 is one of the first things I'll be installing. Now if only my dynamic duo would show up!
