  1. I am bringing home a lovely 4" S&W 28-2 Highway Patrolman this week. It is wearing Herrett's aftermarket grips. I want to put a set of correct S&W magna service grips on it. I know ebay, Altamont, GB etc. can provide, but I'll try here first. If you have a decent set gathering dust in the basement and want to turn them into cash, the Herrett's or some ammo, lemme know. Thanks.
  2. I would agree 100%. I have owned the Beretta CX4, Marlin Camp 9, Sub2k and the Ruger PC. I still own the Ruger. In my opinion, the Sub2k is a no brainer as a $300 gun. The price has now jumped up to the $500+ range. The Ruger for another $100 is a much better gun....better build quality, better sights, easier take down, threaded barrel (if no pistol grip).
  3. You do not need a FFL for a transfer between immediate family members & between LEOs
  4. Every town does it at a different pace. Some towns take 3 weeks, some towns take months. There is no way to check the progress. You will rec'v an email from FARS when the PD finishes the background check. Your next email FARS email will be the approval that says how many permits you have and the expiration date.
  5. Would you be willing to ship to Bayville? If so, I will take it.
  6. Sometimes, it is necessary to fire a customer.
  7. Until the new ruling is posted on the register, it is legal to sell them. After that, I believe they are nogo.
  8. I typed that when I was under the impression that form 4999 was going to be used. They killed that worksheet.
  9. I just happened to have an extra rifle upper on hand, so for giggles I threw it on my other lower along with a fixed stock. I now have a basic no frills 16" rifle that I paid waaaaaay too much for. When I bought my 10.5" Troy 2 years ago, I went in with my eyes open. In the back of my mind, I suspected that the pistol braced "other" in NJ could possibly get put on a NOGO list at some point.
  10. Yes, your FFL should be able to access the executed permit and give you a printout.
  11. Would you be willing to provide the 1st 2 digits of your permit #...ie 33x. Sincerely, 53x
  12. IANAL, but in my reading of the worksheet, I see that......... Section 1 - Prerequisites 2. The weapon must have an overall length between 12 and 26 inches. "Weapon must meet both Prerequisites in order to proceed to Section II" My NJ legal Troy A4 "other" with a 10.5" bbl and a pinned flash suppressor is over 26" as measured from the end of the buffer tube. End of story.... correct?
  13. <<<<< Ocean County Update >>>>> Yesterday a friend of a friend was issued his permit. He applied at LEHT in early September and has an applicant # in the 330's. I applied Aug 12, but it did not get to the county until Sep 12. My number is in the 530's.
  14. Here is the response I rec'd... "Due to the new law passed under Gov. Murphy any applications received after 12/22/22 will be processed at the police departments. Those received prior will remain with the courts. We are processing our backlog quicker now that the prosecutors office is no longer part of the review process. Once your number is reached Judge will review your file and sign your ptc or request a hearing." So this seems to say what I suspected....that those who applied after 12/22 could get a carry permit BEFORE I do because my application is stuck in a pile at the county. I was hoping the county would simple send the piled up apps back to the police depts to be issued. Oh well.....
  15. JA, I submitted to Berkeley on 8/12. They sent my stuff to OC Sup. Ct. on 9/12. I am # 537 in the county. I do not know where they are in the pile, but I did send them of sternly worded email last night asking "WTF, it has been nearly 5 months" Let's see if they respond. I will keep you in the loop. DG
  16. Thanks for the update. I ordered 9 and .45 Colt.
  17. Keep this in mind......NJ is a peninsula, surrounded by water on 3 sides. If the shit ever really hit the fan.... Do you think PA is gonna let 7 million NJ residents across the Delaware? Hell no. Those bridges will be blocked or blown up. If you are in NJ during the end of times, you will not get out of NJ. The "Bug Out" concept works if you live in Idaho or Kansas and have somewhere to go.
  18. In my opinion, the "bugging out" concept only works if you have somewhere to go and the knowledge to survive once you get there. I have come to the conclusion that bugging out with my family in NJ is not realistic for me. At home, I have security, warmth and supplies. I was once on the road all over NJ. Now I just commute 25 mile each way to work. But I still carry lotsa stuff in my car everyday. My car stuff includes.... Water and nuts and jerky for me for several days if needed. I rotate these provisions several times a year. 2 full changes of clothes, including shoes. In winter, I carry long johns and an old coat. The ability to sleep in my car...camp pillow, space & cuddly blankets. The ability to make fire. The ability to stay dry if forced to leave car... poncho & tarp & paracord. The ability to dig and chop. Hygiene, medicines & 1st aid kit. A big ass backpack to carry all of this. If my travels permit, I have a long gun and ammo in my trunk. Once my PTC comes in, I will add a handgun to the mix.
  19. Would anyone who has rec'd an Ocean County PTC recently be willing to share their applicant #? I am applicant 537 & Superior Court has had my application since Sept. 12.
  20. I too was tired of the constant color inkjet game. I went with a simple B&W laser printer from Brother. I highly recommend it.
  21. Same diameter, different lengths. The longer cylinders can shoot the shorter cartridges. A .357 mag revolver can also shoot .38 special A .44 mag revolver can also shoot .44 special A .327 Fed Mag revolver can shoot .32 ACP, .32 short, .32 long & .32 H&R Mag. A 10mm revolver can also shoot .40 S&W. The S&W Governor revolvers can shoot .45 colt, .45 ACP and 2 1/2" .410 shotgun shells Revolvers are fun!!!
  22. I don't have one to sell, but have you considered a .460 S&W?...shoots 460, 454 Cas & 45 colt
  23. As of 1:45 pm, they are about halfway done with checks submitted on 12/6.
